  1. Not so sure about that. Did they look any worse than the sheep who are currently 4th? I think we sometimes forget how good this team is in comparison to the typical Scottish league outfit.
  2. So now we know. We're going to be playing them twice before this year ends. And there lies the real challenge. And the real proof of where we are. I feel we and they are currently closely matched so it may come down to form and strategy on the day.
  3. Needs one more to settle it. Then it might become an avalanche since at 3 down they may as well just throw all caution to the wind.
  4. Kent was absent from training on Friday. Presuming he's doubtful. Last I heard McGregor was also a doubt.
  5. All things being equal it should be a straightforward win. Obviously anything can happen in a one off game and underdogs can pull off a shock result but in this instance Rangers only need to play at an average level of their capabilities to win it comfortably. I feel Hearts are better than their league position suggests but at the end of the day at best they're no better than the sheep and we know what happened when they last came to Glasgow. One thing that concerns me is that Hearts will undoubtedly try to turn it into a kicking match and Uche will be all elbows. It's up to the referee to make it clear early on that's not going to be tolerated in what's supposed to be a footballing showpiece not a kung fu exhibition. If football is allowed to break out Rangers will win at a canter.
  6. This is being stirred up because of a comment Morelos made during an interview. It would be ridiculous to let him go in January when the same interest will be shown in the following window. He's one of only a few the loss of whom could be massively detrimental to our title challenge. He's irreplaceable within our budget.
  7. He obviously did. Starts going down when no one is near him.
  8. I suspect they may have made a massive mistake to placate the squeals of an unrealistic fan base. Their fans think that because they have something of a financial advantage they should be sweeping aside most opposition with ease. We and the yahoos have a massive financial advantage eclipsing any relatively small advantage they have over the rest of the league and it's simply not always that easy. At the end of the day they and all the others are operating in the same league 1/2 freebie market and that's not going to get you any overwhelming advantage. Freebies because no one down there wanted them or were willing to pay what they're asking even though in terms of top level footballing wages what they're asking is relatively a pittance. With that in mind I think we and the yahoos are currently as far ahead of the rest as we have ever been while the rest are about as evenly matched as they have ever been given they're all basically shopping in the same bargain basement store. No matter who they bring in that's not going to change so what are they going to do? Sack manager after manager when their unrealistic expectations are never met?
  9. I have my doubts they're capable of raising their game to a point it could make any difference to this side. Surely our game too will be raised with the prospect of our first major silverware in years and from Gerard's perspective his first managerial trophy.
  10. The footwork of Aribo is astounding at times. I sometimes don't know if they're constantly deliberately fouling him or if he's just so fast and tricky they can't help but take him out as those feet flash around twisting here and there.
  11. Frankly I don't see what difference it will make. Their major problem is a horrific injury list of first choice players which will still exist no matter who is the manager. They're not Rangers, if a first choice is out they don't have anything like equivalent quality waiting to take his place.

Now wondering which of the Edinburgh duo are most likely to be relegation battlers come the end. I still think Hearts can climb the table once they get through their injury crisis hubz on the other hand are what they are and were more than lucky to snatch a draw tonight in the dying seconds of time added on. Both likely to be annihilated this weekend too.
  13. Wonder if Keith Jackson feels like backtracking on his 10 years behind comment from a few years ago.
  14. I would like to see Aribo get a goal after one of his shimmies. Could do wonders for his confidence.
  15. I went for 3-0 FGS Morelos but still want another bagful of goals to ensure we finish this day at the top of the league. Be even better if the yahoo game remains as it currently is. Or hopefully even worse.
  16. The 3 points are pretty much tied up but I still think he should be sending them out to continue striving as hard as possible for as many more goals as possible. A barrowload could put us back top.
  17. 2-0 Jack. Could be looking at a rampage now and if that's on we need to go for it. GD is currently the difference at the top.
  18. And there it is, Alfie strikes again. Hopefully opens the floodgates.
  19. Former Rangers and Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has been appointed Feyenoord head coach until the end of the season. The 72-year-old replaces former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam who resigned after a 4-0 defeat by Ajax on Sunday. Feyenoord have won only three of their 11 league games this season and are 12th in the Eredivisie table. Advocaat said: "If I can help the club, I will gladly do so." The role will be the Dutchman's 24th managerial post and 17th in club football. During his term in charge at Rangers between 1998 and 2001 he won five trophies including the domestic treble in his first season. He led Sunderland to Premier League survival after replacing Gus Poyet as manager, taking over with the Black Cats one point above the relegation zone in March 2015 and finishing the season in 16th place. Feyenoord technical director Sjaak Troost said: "If a trainer with the enormous track record of Dick Advocaat is available and willing to help the club for this season, you naturally do not have to think long about that as a club manager. "With his experience, authority and drive, and with a largely renewed assistant team, we are confident that we will find our way up." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50241789
  20. While Ross County would be viewed by most as one of the lesser lights in the league they appear capable of scraping into the top 6 and are developing into league draw kings. So far in October they have registered two draws and one loss that loss being away in yahoo land and in their most recent game snatched a draw away at Easter road after being 2-0 down. What may be more relevant regarding tonight's game is their last home match which was a 2-2 draw against bottom club St Johnstone. In that game SJ dominated the play with 56% possession and 17 shots at goal to 7 for County with 10 SJ shots on target to just 3 for County 2 of which they converted. This may suggest that like many others they will be dogged in defence while hoping to catch something on the break or from a set piece which Rangers will obviously have to be wary of. While overall I would expect a win that win may prove to be narrow against a team who will dig in like ticks in an effort to frustrate. And as we all know Rangers sometimes struggle against such strategies but again could still win this comfortably particularly so if an early goal or two is achieved. To me every point is precious/crucial right now as we head towards the Winter break and a collision with the main competitor on 29th December. We really need to go into that break at least on level terms or at worst within 2 or 3 points. Anything less than a win tonight while not fatal at this early stage could be extremely detrimental.
