  1. Note he can do it with either foot. Against Hearts he did right footed tonight left footed. He's a goal scoring phenomenon.
  2. I have been saying for sometime that I think the best scenario for both Alfie and the club is that we keep him beyond January and hopefully win the league then keep him one more season. From there hopefully make the CL group stages and a 40 to 50 million pounds cash avalanche. Alfie continues scoring against CL opposition my £30 million price tag becomes laughable and he gets the chance to move to the upper levels of the EPL rather than the Villas and Palaces of that league.
  3. It's frightening how much we need Morelos. And hopefully the price tag we now stick on him is frightening to potential suitors. I'm now looking for a minimum £30 million and I mean bare minimum. He's proven himself against more than Scottish opposition.
  4. Lazio seemed the same in the early stages. Hopefully we play our way into it.
  5. Looks to me like they're going into the knockout rounds. We need a suitable response now.
  6. I don't always submit a vote since firstly I don't always see the games and secondly i'm often undecided so simply effectively abstain. Sometimes it's a no brainer. Against Ross County it had to be Jack and against Hearts Alfie assists the first goal and scores the next two. Done deal.
  7. I will prepare something for Livingston on Sunday.
  8. In a number of way the Euro record under Gerrard is far superior to even Walters run to the final. No disrespect to Walter and his side but they were largely playing a mega defensive style looking to snatch something on the break. Their possession and shots statistics were far less impressive than those of Gerrard sides. And just 18 months after the arrival of Gerrard I still find myself amazed that not only are we in these groups but actually have a degree of confidence that we can get a win over the likes of Porto. And it's not just us wearing our blue tinted specs who think that. Even neutral pundits think so.
  9. Son Heung-min red card for tackle on Andre Gomes overturned https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50309594
  10. Obviously we want to beat Porto and go on to 7 points but i'm undecided which way I would prefer the Feyenoord v Young Boys game to go. A win for one or the other? Which one? A draw? It's all so close it's just hard to decide.
  11. As far as i'm aware this result is no more or less than King predicted when he first took over. He said that at least £30 million would need to be put in and maybe up to £50 million and that appears to be what's happening. So since this is what he planned all along can't we presume he knows exactly what he is doing? And further to my knowledge any debts are soft debts with money owed to no one but directors who aren't going to be trying to call that in. And i'm no financial expert but those I have spoken to who do have some modicum of expertise have told me that this simply is a typical planned business strategy. The shortfall is less than last time while income has increased since last time. And even in a worst case scenario it's no armageddon in any sense despite the fantasies of the crazies. At some point we have to sell players of high value but so does everyone else in Scotland including the yahoos as they frequently do. We will too but just not yet. No one thinks the board are anything but fans just like us who aren't going to leave us in the lurch. So at the end of the day i'm told it's nothing to get in a panic about. It's simply the plan King laid out 4 years ago unfolding.
  12. You never know. They claim they're expecting around 8,000 to travel and since Lazio have been averaging only 16,000 for Europa league games they would constitute half the crowd which may embolden the drunken rabid Rab C. element.
  13. I can see this turning ugly for them in Rome. I think there is a tendency for the most militant among them to travel for the fun of pyrotechnics and demonstrating how rabid they are for the purpose of bragging about it afterwards. Hey i'm crazier than you types. The type who will insist on defying all points of the advice just to illustrate how rabid they are. They remind me of a comment made by Rab C Nesbitt's wife 'Mary doll' during an episode in which a psychiatrist had diagnosed Rab as a psychopath. Mary doll is impressed and tells Rab she has never been so proud of him. The psychiatrist says something like woman don't you understand what i'm saying? Psycopathy is a mental illness. Mary doll responds aye mibbe in your world. But roon oor wey it's like a knighthood.
  14. Even if it were real if we want to win this league he has to stay as I just don't see it happening without him. I suspect Gerrard will do everything in his power to keep him beyond January and I further suspect the influence of Gerrard on the board to be enormous. There's every chance we wouldn't be in this position without Gerrad. Taking into account his pulling power alone just off the top of my head I can think of two key players in Defoe and Kent who most certainly wouldn't be with us if not for Gerrard. If anyone can pull this off it's the man who pulled off the miracle of Istanbul and he has to be well aware that if he can do this it will enhance even further his legendary status. I doubt anyone thought when he came in last year and I mean even we doubted that less than 18 months later we would be looking so formidable. Even down South where our league is derided as pub league standard heads are being turned by the Euro results. And if he pulls it off there may then be offers for his services never mind Morelos but I just don't see him leaving us for anywhere but England and it's hard to see him leading a team out against Liverpool. There is a precedent for such a mentality in Alex Ferguson. Ferguson was once sounded out for the England job but said though he would have loved the challenge there was no way he could bring himself to lead out an England side against Scotland.
  15. Think we have all become somewhat burned out by it. I'm leaving the obsessed from the usual sources which is pretty much every other clubs fans to get in a lather about it.

    Heckingbottom sacked now. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49789618
  17. And isn't it 10 in Europe? Including the crucial winner in the play off against Legia and the equaliser in Porto.
  18. This sadly looks really bad. The look on their faces again reminds me of the faces during the Busst incident.
  19. Think there might have been a horrific career ending injury in the Everton v Spurs game. Son Heung-min made a tackle on Andre Gomes and the look on Heung-min's face in the aftermath may be telling. Reminds of the distress on Peter Schmeichels face when he saw what had happened David Busst.
  20. And perhaps pushing a £40 million price tag. But I want him one more season after this one. If we can win this league he might be the difference between making the cash avalanche of the CL groups or not making it. And if he could continue his scoring exploits there that £40 million price tag may become ever more realistic.
  21. Truly pathetic. I would be embarrassed if one of ours did that.
  22. That's a relief. And given the unusual honesty of the man saying it I believe him.
