  1. Leeds reportedly prepared to make an £8 million bid for Kamara. That's a difficult one for me. While it's a great profit on a guy we paid relatively almost nothing for he's become something of a first pick and we're chasing a title. That's not an ideal time to start selling first picks unless the money offered was insane and I don't regard £8 million as insane.
  2. The more I think about it the more I feel it's a non starter. He's not as good as what we already have for one thing and there's no way we would pay the silly money they would ask.
  3. I haven't sen enough of Ferguson to comment on whether he would be of any good use to us or not. I would venture the opinion that definitely not for the stupid money the sheep would likely ask. In terms of their relative journeyman squad he's worth a lot more to them than he is to us.
  4. Morelos himself is the variable that most concerns me. But that aside of course none of us want to see him leave yet and personally if we win the league I want to retain him till at earliest January 2021 and preferably Summer 2021. If we win the league his undoubted goal scoring ability may be the key to qualifying for the CL groups. And that would be a financial game changer for the club which surely has to be the major objective behind all the spending. It's certainly the way I would be looking at it if I were on the board and given the evidence we have up to this point i'm led to suspect that there are noses every bit as blue as mine on that board. A CL cash avalanche and a tidy sum for Alfie. A real game changer that would shift the financial advantage in our favour.
  5. I just don't see why they would do that with a title on the line when comparable bids would be just as likely to come in the Summer. Plus Gerrard has made his feelings on it clear and in a number of ways he may be even more crucial than Alfie. I doubt the board would want to risk driving a wedge between him and them.
  6. Does it count when they don't know they're a diddy club?
  7. I think there have been two factors since then which have had an even bigger impact on football. Bosman then the TV billions introduced into the EPL. Bosman was a deadly blow for the provincials though not necessarily clubs of the stature of Rangers. The EPL TV billions were probably a major factor in what ultimately pushed Murray to take Rangers down a dangerous financial path. And are currently the major factor in our inability to financially compete with relative minnows from the EPL.
  8. I think it's going to be very difficult indeed to reel them in. If we presume that Liverpool aside City are still the favourites while Liverpool continue not losing which appears possible given they have lost just 1 in 51 then it would need 5 draws for City to overtake them by just a point. And that presumes City themselves drop no points at all in the same period.
  9. I believe we are getting better all the time and will continue to do so. The team still hasn't peaked.
  10. Liverpool have lost just one of their last 51 league games. An ominous statistic.
  11. I calculated that Liverpool dropped an average 0.44 points per game over the 38 game season last time out. With 26 games remaining if that average continued they would be set to drop a further 11.63 the rest of the season. Let's call it 12 and since they already have a 9 point lead over City who you have to expect will themselves drop more points it's well within Liverpool's hands to take the title.
  12. Might help if we could have eyes in some of the poorer areas of the globe where kids can't afford playstations and still play football even in the streets which honed the skills of bygone Scottish generations. South America and Africa as examples.
  13. A deserved 3 points against an anti football mob who do nothing to promote the Scottish game to broadcasters and plenty to negate broadcast interest. I generally have empathy for these teams with such limited budgets but currently not them. The league could do without their like and I find myself hoping they drift down to the bottom 2 then lose to Ayr in a playoff. Ayr also have limited resources but can still manage a grass pitch.
  14. Bad result for City or good result for Liverpool? ?
  15. On the Daily Record acast podcast they all expressed the opinion that this is going to be a "horrible watch" And I have no doubt it will be as they do everything but try to play some football. I could train up 11 random neds from any pub to pretty much do what they will do. And yet the footballing authorities let this go on then complain that TV wont come up with a good deal for Scottish football. While they effectively guarantee that's not going to change because this is supposed to be an entertainment industry. A "horrible watch" is not going to encourage anyone to pay good money to broadcast it. And that horrible watch is guaranteed to continue while they do nothing to stop the activities of these hammer throwers. Holt had this to say in the Record after complaining about Gerrard mentioning their anti entertainment anti football activities. And there you have it. A straight up admission that their objective is to stop any football being played and for me an admission they have even have an actual intent to injure. Let's not kid ourselves, what's "in their faces" supposed to mean?
  16. Here's another reason they will be hating McInnes and demanding he be sacked. From the Record today. Now he's simply being realistic, he knows a second place far less a first place is impossible and will remain so for the foreseeable future. But in their fantasy baa baa land they're contenders and any manager who concedes otherwise has to go. To be replaced by, well I don't know. Maybe Harry Potter to cast a magic spell which turns their freebie squad into Real Madrid? There shall be no realism in baa baa land.
  17. Dang as they say in Oklahoma. Wish we could send him the preview. And incidentally nowhere have I seen Gerrard say cloggers or anything like it.
  18. Apparently they will celebrate if Milne goes, he's part of the problem they're shite. He and that 'hun' McInness who also has to go then they will conquer Europe. That's how far detached from reality they are. There is zero chance of any admin. Whatever King may be he's not a total idiot and he's not going to become Murray/Whyte by creating a shit storm then bailing out. We may be forced to reign in the spending if certain things don't come off but long term that would only effect our ability to compete in Europe. If we were never in Europe we would still eclipse the sheep and everybody else for that matter the yahoos aside.
  19. Incredible run by Preston and Alex Neil with one of the smallest budgets maybe even the smallest in that league. I hope they go all the way.
  20. And there are some who have all that skill and the determination to win but just can't live the life of a professional athlete. Plenty money to spend, want to spend a lot of time in the pubs and clubs getting pissed with their non athlete mates. Turning up for training hungover and unfit to train or just not turn up at all. I suspect there are countless who have gone down that path.
  21. Might be further incentive for fringe players to really go at it. Gerrard would be sending them out there after telling them you know what they're going to do. Let me see you deal with that. Alfie still has to play. I know he can deal with it. Their problem is dealing with him because he can give them back in spades any shit they want to throw at him. And Alfie actually seems to be developing into something of a protector of team mates. Look what happens here after Alfie is fouled by a Livi player when we beat them 3-1 at Ibrox. Alfie is just taking it, no sign of the retaliation we saw last season, basically dusting himself down when he sees Dykes then have an absurd out of play go at Halliday who is trying to get the ball set up to take the free kick. Video primed to start at the relevant time.
