  1. Couldn't say on that. But it didn't look like much from the Accies player and was in the course of play. Alfie acted out. I think it's a hard and fast rule that retaliation will be punished.
  2. Yep. And you never know. It might even pull a red from some. Reminded me of Beckham's little flick out that got him a red at the world cup.
  3. That flick of the foot will always pull a yellow and he has to know that.
  4. I feel he's the most potent player we have in those crowded situations. There can look no way through when he just throws in a couple of twists and turns and he's through the crowd.
  5. That's just one of the things we paid £7 million for. He terrorises opposition teams.
  6. I'm just glad he's back and not trapped in Columbia.
  7. Yep, relieved to see it.
  8. Presumably if Ayr were to come up their income would increase. And perhaps it should simply come down to the fact that if you want to be in the top flight you simply have to cut your cloth to accommodate a grass pitch. If you can't/don't want to then you simply can't be there.
  9. This is a disturbing report. Columbia has been experiencing social unrest and has apparently closed borders. Colombia protests prompt teargas, curfew and border closures
  10. Ayr haven't been in the top flight in over 40 years have an average attendance of 1,208 and have a grass pitch.
  11. Just noticed that the Si Ferry open goal video I posted "has been removed for violating YouTube's Terms of Service" Peculiar and i'm wondering why.
  12. Alex Rae claims there will be major investment coming into Rangers in January and the club will not be forced to sell the likes of Alfredo Morelos. The former Light Blues midfielder insists there is a cash injection on the horizon after the club announced they needed £10million before the end of the season. The figures released earlier this month stated Rangers had suffered an annual loss of £11.3m resulting in claims the club would resort to cashing in on Morelos in the New Year. Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and sporting director Ross Wilson insisted the Colombian striker will be going nowhere in the upcoming transfer window. And Rae believes that will be the case as Rangers will receive the required funds from elsewhere. He said on Clyde 1's Superscoreboard: "Now it is my understanding at the turn of the year there will be another share issue done, which will provide considerable money. "And there will be major investment coming into Rangers." Host Gordon Duncan probed Rae, saying: "We have heard this stuff quite a lot though, haven't we?" Rae added: "I've heard it from a very high source in Ibrox so I would prefer to believe that instead of anybody from Twitter." https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alex-rae-rangers-investment-claim-20940333
  13. Anybody beginning to suspect that Gerrard may actually be the real deal? A top class manager? I'm sure we all had our doubts when he was appointed but in his relatively short reign we have if anything over achieved on expectations and I don't think that's just down to his budget. Wasn't Pedro given a similar amount of money to spend in his first season as Gerrard was? Yet Pedro got us nowhere while Gerrard took us on to another level pretty much inside a matter of weeks. Does this indicate he has a natural talent for building a squad? And perhaps then coaching that squad to get the best out of it and even improving those players? Ryan Jack as an example is a massively improved player and it's not as if he was some raw boy when he came to Rangers. He was already 25 years old at which age you would generally expect a player to be pretty much all he is ever going to be yet Jack under Gerrard just like Rangers has moved on to another level. Gerrard on a limited budget in comparison to those available in England has built and coached a side competing in the Europa league and while I don't think they will win the tournament it still wouldn't greatly surprise me if they did. Or at least went much further than we would have dreamed of pre-season. And let's be honest, there was massive doubt among us regarding whether we could even qualify again far less compete so well once we did. Man Utd and Arsenal are joint favourites to win it yet experienced heads are saying they think we are capable of taking both of them. Incidentally if we do qualify for the knockout stages and were to take a Man U level side I suspect/fear we may then see sustained attempts from England to steal Gerrard away from us in the Summer. This video is primed to start at a point where Derek Ferguson is asked why he thinks Rangers are doing so well in Europe while both he and McAvennie go on to say they think Rangers could take Man Utd.
  14. So other guys bother to turn up and do the spade work then he steps in and decides yeah I will play at a major tourney if they qualify taking a spot from one of those who bothered turning up to get us there. Even if they qualify Scotland obviously aren't going to win Euro 2020. Giving him a place ahead of someone else who will continue to turn up in he future would be more than unfair.
  15. A couple of days or so ago on one of the countless links generated by generated by https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/SPFL/Rangers It said that he had been living near Neil Lennon but had moved to a bigger house to accommodate his family.
  16. I read recently that Gerrard has moved his family to Scotland. A good sign that he's committed.
  17. Wondering where the 'greedy' is supposed to come into it. It's greedy to want to keep your star striker when somebody else wants him? Or alternatively it's greedy to not accept whatever anyone offers? Though in reality Saint Etienne probably said no such thing. Some journo likely tacked that on.
  18. The very last thing we need on the day when we might win our first major silverware in years is some moron detracting from it by setting off dangerous and illegal pyrotechnics. Anyone who sees some moron involved in such activities should alert the cops. These low IQ dimwits have to be eradicated from our support. If it isn't stopped it's only a matter of time before someone is blinded or worse and I don't want it be Rangers fans involved when that happens.

  20. Having studied it you're right, two draws mean qualification. And while that has to be the absolute priority I would still like a win since a win has multiple benefits. I feel Porto will beat YB because firstly they're a better team and secondly if they were to say draw then they're reliant on other results in the final games to progress. They're going to go all out for a win and I strongly feel they will win. If they do while we also win a draw in the last game is then good enough to top the group. Topping the group has the obvious co-efficient for both club and country benefit then the prize money. Topping the group pays a million euros while runner up gets half a million. A win earns 570,000 euros in comparison to 190,00 for a draw so there's a difference of 880,000 euros in that scenario and that's still a significant amount for the club at this point. Topping the group would also mean drawing a group runner up in the last 32 which all in all may mean a better chance of reaching the last 16 which pays 1.1 million euros even if beaten there. Plus I suppose the prestige of being group winners and we would never hear the end of it if the yahoos top their group and we don't even if we qualify. But at the end of the day I will obviously accept any route to the last 32. Most of us didn't even expect to make the groups a second time in succession far less qualify for the knockout rounds.
  21. Isn't it better to only need a draw rather than be faced with a must win in the final game?
