  1. Regarding Crooks it looks like he is in fact a bit of a giant when you see how tall he looks beside Kranjcar who himself is reportedly 6ft 1in We definitely appear to be getting some height into the team which was largely lacking last season.
  2. Can you give me any examples going around in the crazy bubble of how this assists us? The crazy bubble inhabitants don't grasp we would gladly take their fixture list as the manager just demonstarted? Would they like to be going to Ibrox twice before the split? They could always ask the league to accomodate that and they wouldn't have any complaints from our side.
  3. Preventing a third incident solves nothing. The mentality not the paint is the real issue.
  4. I predict if he does it will be biref appearances as a substitute. And anyway, according to the always reliable wikipedia he is actually already on loan to Rangers. LOL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Mooy
  5. I was unaware they are selling old firm games as a seperate package from the season ticket. When I last bought one all home league matches were included. Are they doing that too?
  6. Given the managers known penchant for the loan market we have to expect some activity over the next few weeks as clubs get into their pre-season and begin deciding who is going out on loan and who is not.
  7. That's good news. Would be nice to start the season with a fully fit squad for the manager to experiment with and decide what his first 11 will be. Wondering what he will go with next Wednesday against Charleston battery though I expect a lot of subbing and switching to take place in that one.
  8. I read an interview where Windass said that Crooks is around 6ft 4in and i'm guessing that in most matches it will be the same as last season. Swarming forward in packs and I would think he could get himself into position to receive a cross and either go for goal himself or make knock downs for Waghorn and Miller to get on the end of. Step up O'Halloran to hopefully supply such crosses. And talking of Crooks the last I heard he was still injured. Is that still the case? If so what sort of injury are we looking at here? Is he going to be ready in time for the first match?
  9. Presumably the one or two includes a frontman. I'm happy with the business so far and I don't see much in the SPL that could live with what we already have. As for the reigning champions we already played them off the park with a less potent side which itself was vastly weakened by injuries and cup tied status at the time. O'Halloran ran them ragged in his last match against them before joining us.
  10. I agree, it simply gets my goat when I see English fans suggesting going to Rangers as being a step down even for a league 1 player while implying that it has anything to do with anything but the TV money down there.
  11. Still got his loan signings to come which you could anticipate may be of a better quality than last season. Warburton has a talent for producing surprises. He may have as many unexpected surprises up his sleeve in that department too.
  12. Must be looking at a minimum 20 million plus banked.
  13. It may not be wholly down to sky but I would guess it's a huge factor. Or is it just a coincidence that as the billions flowing into England consistently grew our domestic game consistently went downhill as it became ever more impossible to keep any quality homegrown talent in our game? Then as the reputation of our game cosnssitently falls it becomes ever harder to get anybody from anyplace to come here. The English leagues outside the EPL would be little better if they were in our position and it goes without saying that the EPL itself would be no world beater if all that TV money were going to say Germany rather than England.
  14. I agree that if the management team make a measured decision to use some of our limited resources on giving a player a contract it hasn't been some off the top of the head ill conceived whim. We have to trust the judgement of these men who managed to hastily cobble together in 3 weeks last year a team which delivered so much. Given the amount of deliberation that has gone into all recent signings i'm confident such a man as Mr Warburton has proven to be knows exactly what he is doing.
  15. Well I think we're now well past the stage of complaining about a lack of defensive signings. Question now is are we going to be settling for what we already have at the sharp end. We can't expect Kenny Miller to manage a full season of 90 minutes but I suppose he could perhaps handle 60 minutes a match. And in addition I expect the new midfield to contribute a significant share of goals. Also be interesting to see what Waghorn can do with such quality feeding him.
  16. The manager appears to be making some signings with an eye on the coming season alone. If Oguchi could do a one season job for us which got us to the title i'm fine with that. Someone like him could be just the experience we need to launch from the bench in the latter stages of a match we are winning to make sure it stays that way.
  17. Aside from the obvious considerations for Rangers finances am I the only one sick and tired of the English arrogance regarding how superior their league is in comparison to Scotland and the assertion that even league 1 players coming to play for Rangers are "taking a step down"? Now there is no denying there is a massive gulf between their top league and ours but the existence of this gulf is typically presented by English fans as evidence that they are simply superior in a footballing sense with no acknowledgement of the fact that it's wholly down to the sky tv anomaly. Go ask Iceland and their population of 332,000 how superior the English are.
  18. Apparently not always the case at every club. Newcastle for one and Deila allegedly had players heaped on him he didn't want.
  19. He hit 20 goals in 44 appearances for MK Dons in the 2014-2015 Championship. I would say that's an impressive strike rate for a player in a team that finished 23rd and were relegated. Then went on to hit 25 for Wigan in 40 appearances 2015-2016. Again an impressive strike rate.
  20. And Brendan Rogers immediately rated as a 16/1 contender to replace him with favourite Gareth Southgate at 8/1. Oh how funny that would be if he did that before he had even picked a team in Glasgow.
  21. Makes you think doesn't it, Glasgow alone has a considerably larger population than Iceland yet Scotland can't get a sniff of a major tournament.
  22. The Italians hit a second in the 90th minute to finish it but I think it might be said that Buffon was as critical as De Gea on several occasions. Particularly so the save just before the second Italian goal.
  23. Sympathies regarding your parents health problems and I think it goes without saying that you need not apolgise to anyone for dealing with your life rather than spending time in here. Hope things take an upward turn for you.
  24. Aside from his complaints about it there is an interesting insight regarding his thinking here. We're all focussing on the league while he is thinking of a treble? Impressive but I will still have no complaints if he fields a virtual reserve side in some of these games while getting the first 11 up to match fitness using them sparingly. Want to give Motherwell a hiding while the rest of the games i'm somehwat blah about. Motherwell will be opposition in the league so they need to be intimidated while also punished for their fans shit in the play offs last season.
  25. Aisde from the Motherwell game I agree, let some peripheral boys play at least some of the games while using the first 11 as the manager sees fit. If they come through well good if not who cares. The league is our priority.
