The Winter 2019/20 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree, I probably wouldn't if I were him. I'm simply responding to the reported interest. -
That's absolutely ludicrous. Firstly Tavernier shrugged it off? Are you inside his head? What else could he be expected to do in the circumstances but carry on? Dive into the crowd and execute a few Cantona style kung fu kicks? He carried on because he had no other reasonable option and that doesn't remotely qualify as just shrugging it off. Secondly you advocate not even acknowledging these incidents because to do so is playing a victim card? He is a victim of a thrown object and you think that should just be entirely ignored? Just let the throwing of objects continue without the slightest mention is the way to go? In the real world this is regarded as a form of assault and will not be ignored. Not by anybody aside from perhaps someone who simply wants to be contrary no matter how contrary to common sense that might be. If some complete stranger does this to me in a work environment which is what Tavernier was in there is no way i'm simply going to ignore it without a mention. And I fully expect the vast majority of rational people to have the same view. In a non work environment my response would be infinitely more reactive with a good possibility of throwing something in return most likely a punch. The throwing of anything at all at our players is not something just to be ignored effectively encouraging it to carry on because no one will say anything.

My initial thought on Tsimikas was why would we spend a significant amount of money on a left back when we have Barisic. This guy is valued around £3 million on transfermarkt which is a major sum when we already have quality in that position. Then came last night and the clear lack of quality cover for Barisic. Has CL experience so seems to tick all the boxes. -
Which doesn't surprise me in the least. Prior to the game on their forums their match thread was titled "Aberdeen v new mutant hun cu*%*" which has just today been changed for some reason. And another thread titled "Who would you most like to see be the victim of a horrific fan assault on the pitch tonight?" which is still there.

That's why i'm entirely unimpressed by the sheep. As you say St Johnstone are dire and sitting just above them second bottom of the league with the same number of points but a slightly superior GD are St Mirren. On Saturday St Mirren had to miss a penalty to save the sheep dropping two points and in fact could have beaten them. They weren't outplaying St Mirren by any measure and that was in their own sheep pen. Possession: Sheep 50% - St Mirren 50% Shots: Sheep 14 - St Mirren 12 Shots on target: Sheep 7 St Mirren 6 -

While that's true most teams don't claim to be one of our best and a direct competitor of ours. And as usual it's all the fault of McInnes they're not drubbing us and not sweeping all before them in Europe. -

It's actually somewhat embarrassing and simply gives credence to the 'pub league jibes our football gets from the South. They claim to be one of our best teams and this is their greatest 'strength'? I can envisage them being drawn in Euro qualifiers then the opposition research them to discover their 'strengths' Back comes the report. They're good at trying to get your players red carded while constantly fouling in an attempt to make sure no football gets played in a football match. -

Scott McKenna admits Aberdeen DID target Alfredo Morelos under Derek McInnes' orders Scott McKenna has admitted Aberdeen did target Alfredo Morelos last term – under the orders of Derek McInnes. But the Dons centre-back believes the Rangers goal machine is a changed man this season. Morelos picked up three of his five red cards against the Dons last season, although one of those was downgraded on appeal. McKenna knew the Colombian had a fiery streak and revealed McInnes even wound up his own troops to make sure they got a reaction out of the talisman. Ahead of the Pittodrie clash with Gers on Wednesday night, the Aberdeen defender said: “His discipline has improved. It is something we targeted last year. “The gaffer was probably winding us up to make sure we wound him up. “It worked a few times and it did benefit us. “He seems to have tightened up on that aspect of his game and it is up to us to try to stop him scoring, that is our job.” Scotland star McKenna was also central to a number of those red cards. Morelos kicked him off the ball in the first game then in another Pittodrie clash they both got sent packing after McKenna retaliated to a stamp from the striker. He said: “I tried to have a wee nibble back and I didn’t realise my feet were as high as they were. “I got what I deserved – it was pure stupidity.” The bad blood between Aberdeen and Rangers stretches way back to the 1980s and there’s still a real edge to their battles. McKenna said: “I don’t know how many matches I have played against Rangers but there have been very few when both teams have finished with 11 men. “Ryan Jack also got sent off in a game at Pittodrie so it is important that we keep our discipline and don’t get sucked into anything stupid.” The Dons have suffered heavy defeats at the hands of the Old Firm this term, losing 5-0 at Ibrox then 4-0 to Celtic at Pittodrie. But McKenna claims lessons have been learned since the Hoops defeat, with a five-game unbeaten run taking them back into third. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scott-mckenna-admits-aberdeen-target-21019144 -

McKenna admitting in todays record that they did deliberately target Morelos under orders from McInnes. That's their level. Kick and harry. Then wonder why they get nowhere in Europe. -

The issue here isn't about the team being intimidated in any way by sheep physicality. They wont be and If they were liable to be intimidated they simply wouldn't be in a Gerrard side as he himself was no shrinking violet on a football field. The issue is that they're only flesh and blood and the heroes bones can be broken just as easily as the cowards. There is no way these sheep can match us in a straight football match since on a technical level we're on another planet from them. So that leaves them with nothing else but physicality and let's face it. What would get the biggest cheer out of these bleating teuchters? A goal or the sight of say Ryan jack being stretchered off? Every one of their players knows that putting the boot in on Rangers players is what gets you adulation from their bleaters and they will be putting the boot in. And as I said the heroes bones will break just as easily as the cowards and we have a massive game coming up on Sunday. The only surefire way to deal with that is a suit of armour. That's the issue here. -

Reminds me of the first time we played them under Gerrard which if I remember correctly was in fact the very first league match under Gerrard. Away game, Alfie red carded inside around 10 minutes yet we still went on take a 1-0 lead and dominate the game. They equalised in the dying minutes then afterwards Gerrard stated that we were on another level in comparison to them. He was simply stating a fact that was evident for everyone to see but perhaps shouldn't have given their delusions of being a footballing superpower. What he said still applies and in fact since then Rangers are on yet another level in comparison to them. There's a lot of talk about them being a good team and in a sense they are but it's not in a footballing sense the way Rangers are a good team. They're a good team in the way Livingston or Motherwell are good teams. They litter the side with physicality rather than real footballing quality then proceed to their 'game plan' which is simple. Kick and harry and when I say kick i'm not referring to kicking the ball. A major part of their 'plan' is to actually hurt our players while conceding foul after foul in an attempt to prevent any rhythm occurring. And they're 'good' at that. Look out for a catalogue of fouls against Kent because he's closing in on some real form while providing goals and assists. Ryan jack will be targeted simply because he's Ryan Jack and their players know that hurting him gets you a baa from their bleating crowd. Alfie will also be targeted just to see if they can get a rise out of him but he's a tank. Heavily armoured and can take the punishment largely undamaged while Kent on the other hand is more of a lightly armoured fast transport vehicle. I fear for him with Sunday coming up fast when he's going to be a key factor. With the prospect of this sheep game on the horizon I watched dthe highlights of their game with St Mirren and believe you me they were lucky to get a win. St Mirren deserved at least a draw and a win wouldn't have flattered them. St Mirren were carving them open with relative ease but just didn't have the quality to take their chances and even missed a penalty. In my view all away games are a potential banana skin and for that simple reason this one is too but it's not because they're a good side. We're far superior and all we need is for the referee to do his job letting our player impose their class and this will be a standard win. -

Well if you doubt your own ears perhaps you shouldn't comment. But there are others who who do know what they heard and unsurprisingly it was exactly the same thing those in the away section who reported hearing the offending chants that those watching the stream heard. I heard it and cringed. So did others. And if you didn't as you say you didn't you're right. You shouldn't comment at all but here you are saying people hear what they want to hear when the exact opposite is actually the truth in this case. I was hearing something I most definitely did not want to hear. And neither did the person talking about what he heard at the following link. Again, he was not hearing what he wanted to hear. -

Do you think Rangers fans who heard it were hearing what they want to hear? I suppose some might like the ones who were actually doing it but the vast majority did not want to hear it. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Exactly. The club has been put at risk and we have the sight of that being fatuously put down to 'daily record hearsay'. Which is precisely the type of response those who hate the club want to see. Denial of indisputable recorded reality is exactly what they want to see because that makes the support look ridiculous and by extension the club look ridiculous. -

Further 'ear witness' from our very own podcast. And this is why i'm so derisive of the truly witless nature of babbling on about "daily record hearsay" Primed to start when it's mentioned he heard it. As I did. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I heard it. Others heard it. We all heard it which leaves us with three possibilities. One we're all liars and for some unknown reason want to vilify the club for something that didn't happen. Two we all had exactly the same hallucination even while thousands of miles apart. Or three we actually heard it which I can guarantee you we did. Fans who were in the stadium reported hearing it. Some apparently heard it in the stadium while others in other parts of the stadium did not. Would I prefer it hadn't happened? Of course I would but I can't pretend that it didn't when I clearly heard it. I listen on a headset. I heard it clear as day. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
So now you're going with an assertion that we're all having a mass audio hallucination which bizarrely were all exactly the same hallucination. And partaking in some feeble tale of nothing being real unless you want it to be. Like believing objects jetting 1600 centigrade flames in the midst of a crowd isn't dangerous because well that's the alternate reality you like. And believing something heard by me and others on this forum doesn't exist because well that's the alternate reality you prefer. But your alternate reality is only valid in your head . Not in the real world and certainly not in the world of UEFA who will close the stadium costing the club millions if these learning disabled individuals continue to fail to learn. In the real world this happened and I invite the others who heard it to post here while watching your inane attempt at pretending it's not real. -

You think you can derail the topic by resorting to further entirely irrelevant and unconnected babble? That might work in your circles but it wont work on me. Again, back to your disconnect. I will provide a definition of hearsay. "information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor" Now my comment yet again which I will simply copy and paste hoping repetition gets it to sink in. I have repeated more than once that what i'm talking about is me and others hearing this singing with our own ears yet you instantly forgot that and babble on about the daily record. What you might call ear witness evidence. Not hearsay and nothing whatsoever to do with the daily record. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I will stick with the clear evidence that you have serious issues with comprehending reality and have no idea what hearsay means. And on top of that you just proved that you're one of those who can't retain information beyond a trip round the bowl. I have repeated more than once that what i'm talking about is me and others hearing this singing with our own ears yet you instantly forgot that and babble on about the daily record. But should I seriously expect much more from one who doesn't understand that an object spouting a flame burning at 1600 centigrade amid a crowd is extremely dangerous? Your disconnect from rationality can also be detrimental to the club. This infantile attempt at apologetics while denying indisputable reality is absurdity on a grand scale for all to see and you don't appear to get that. That in itself can be detrimental to the club in the instance that some passerby looking for evidence to criticise it comes across your frankly mindless babbling. But you keep it up and I will continue demonstrating that you're an outlier in more ways than one. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
You know i'm beginning to suspect you're a 100% bonafide nutcase on a greater than Trump level. Try very hard to comprehend this simple piece of information which has no relation whatsoever to the daily record. I heard it. Do you understand that? Is it clear enough? I can't make it any simpler. Others on this forum heard it. A participant on the latest gersnet podcast heard it. A forum member has posted about being told by people who were there that they heard it. Is all that sinking in? You garsping they didn't get it from the daily record? Need I repeat all that many times till it sinks in? These are real people who can remember events and even simple instructions without them being repeated countless times. Now run along and play with a non dangerous 1600 centigrade flame. I know that entertains you. -

JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Don't tell me what I and others heard. We're capable of remembering an incident long after a single trip round the goldfish bowl. And don't tell me there was no evidence when I know and others know for a fact it happened. Keep simple mindedness like that for your own crowd. I suspect you would be happier in the company of those who are according to you incapable of comprehending a simple instruction despite it having been repeated on countless occasions. While I sympathise with their disability when it can cost the club millions I have to support removing them from the equation. -

Something that irks me about them is the apparent naivety of the media most recently the sun reporting the most ludicrous tales regarding the fans of rivals of yahoo opponents following them around Europe to attack these rivals. Most recently PSG fans apparently taking time off work plus going to great expense and ignoring the fact that their own team is playing in the CL to travel to Glasgow to attack Rennes fans. The most recent heart and hand podcast also discussed this 'phenomenon' -

Not really? I can't figure out if you're even for real. An object that burns at up to 1600 centigrade in a crowd isn't dangerous in your fatntasy world? Since steel far less people or anything else for that matter melts at 1200 centigrade what sort of normally functioning adult wouldn't have the capacity to grasp the extreme danger in that? I'm really interested to know.
