Classic, the exuberant ones now starting to argue with each other about a Garner deal being payed in instalments. Last I heard they were auctioning off patches of Hampden grass to finance a transfer because all the freebies are gone already and there is no parachute money this year.
-
Why would they? Unless they're working for Ashley. Zero hours contract.

And one more thing about the so called banter, it's comical or maybe that's not the word. Maybe retarded that we also can't make a signing without screams of horror about us being able to actually make signings that aren't freebies which is the typical way of it for the vast majority of the paupers of Scottish football. From a hibz grunt since the news of the Garner signing just broke. Yes indeed, sounds very familiar regarding a club who have just sold more season tickets than his diddy club will in years. Comical and retarded that they have some bizarre fantasy that such a club somehow has no money at all.
-
So, will Garner start on Saturday? He's obviously match fit already since he has been playing for Preston but does that mean they can just throw him in? Bench place? Get a run on the hour?
-
Not sure it's bigotry though the hun thing is but I think the new club thing began as banter but has now carried on for so long it's become tedious and has evolved into something beyond banter it's difficult to put a label on.

Regarding Kiernan you're obviously not the only one who has concerns about him and his tendency to sometimes "overplay" things. I watched the Dundee game on a Rangers TV stream with Hugh Burns as one of the commentators. At one stage I think it was late in the second half Kiernan gets the ball in a danger area with Dundee players lurking nearby moving in on him and I could hear the agitation in Burns voice as he said something like "clear it just clear it" Kiernan basically just kicked the ball away out of play near the halfway line and I think it went into a side stand or close to going into it and Burns obviously relieved says "there you go, that's all you need to do, it's simple"

It's unusual for a zapping to kill someone and you would think maybe even more unusual someone who was an athlete. Though in saying that I expect they can quickly go downhill physically once the playing days are over and training is a distant memory. Shudder to think what may happen to Gazza if he were zapped in his current condition.

One factor is the majority of them are going to be beaten by us and probably over the course of a season more than once. One way to look at it is that if you think you're being played off the park by a brand new club who have more season ticket holders than your club will match in gate receipts over many home games be my guest. What does that say about your club?

Celtic fans urged to launch Israel protest

Despite this being the age of the internet when almost anything at all is easy to research I really am more than confident the vast majority of the grunts inhabiting parkhead willing to wave these flags know next to nothing about it. You could probably hand the bulk of them any flag at all and tell them it was a palestinian flag. These are the type of grunts you could ask what was the duration of the 6 day war and they would want to phone a friend. -
New clubs have little to no fans so I think they should expect little to no away support when this "new club" comes to visit.

Seb Rozental - Rangers supporters were incredible after injury KO

It's not actually so much about how far behind or otherwise the technology of the time was though that is a factor and using the standards of university machines and connections of the time are meaningless to those out there in the general population. I expect the universities have some pretty cool lasers to play with right now but the chances of me having one of that standard are remote. It's about how many people in the general population were actually using computers and the internet in 1996 and that was minimal. In 1996 that was barely 3 to 4 people in every 100 for the UK and 0.7% for Seb Rozentals native Chile and the variety of things the average non computer literate person of that time could do with it with no university geek handy to show them how was extremely limited. Inicidentally I got my first PC in 1998 and was quickly hooked on the internet and it was exactky as the article I previously posted described. I had a 56kb/s modem which was blazing fast for the time and watching a page with any significant graphics loading was almost like watching it being painted. It took me about 20 minutes or so to download an average mp3 from napster and It was costing me an average £200 a month in internet charges back then because it was like phone calls at that time, charged by the minute and that was another thing that was offputting to the average person. -

Celtic officials will have feared Hapoel Be'er Sheva Champions League tie for off-field reasons Personally I think they are indeed stupid enough to fuck this up big time. I hope they do and it then raises questions from home and abroad about why a Scottish club is so fucked up about a middle eastern issue riddled with terrorism. An article from the Jerusalem Post which is an Israeli newspaper has this to say about it. http://www.jpost.com/Diaspora/Celtic-fans-to-greet-Israeli-team-with-Palestine-flags-463795 This shit is an embarrassment to the nation but for selfish reasons I hope they do this and make a complete arse of themselves. Though waving Palestinian flags while playing an Icelandic team is hard to fathom and hard to top. -
Definitely agree regarding Nicky Clark but not sure he can be compared to Garner on anything aside from goal tally after moving to a higher level. Clark was in a dominant side while I think Garner found himself in a whole team that was out of it's depth against much of the opposition at that higher level and who were playing a strategy not suited to a striker. I'm presuming that if the management team including McParland think that Garner can be a 20+ goals a year man with Rangers they have good reason for thinking that. Rather than taking recent stats as a sign of how he would do in our team i'm basically giving their superior knowledge the benefit of the doubt.
-
Not sure. His time with QOS in 2012-13? He didn't find himself as the lone front man in a team parking the bus with Rangers.

How many terrorist entities must these freaks champion before some serious questions are asked? They're akin to an overt fifth column in our midst. And I guarantee you that 99% of them know absolutely nothing about the Israel/Palestine situation and probably don't even know what apartheid means either. -
I was bamboozled by that too and so was Rossiter who had just been brought down for the foul. He looked so angry that we didn't even get to take the free kick that I felt for a moment he may get in that refs face enough to get a booking. Baffling refereeing.

To be fair the internet in 1996 was in it's infancy. Dial up, typical 14kb/s modems and nothing like the options we see today plus pc ownership which at the time was the only way to get online far less internet access was rare. http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/technology/2009/02/jurassic_web.html -
Judging from what I have been reading about their most recent season which was their first in the Championship after promotion from league 1 it sounds like they were playing a style very familiar to us or at least familiar to us in the sense we see it played against us so regularly. The old park the bus and play a lone striker tactic. Their main priority was simply to consolidate in their first Championship season to stay in that league. Garner was typically stranded up front alone against an entire back four who had little problems closing him down since he had little or no support at all. The fans love him because he's a local boy who grew up supporting the team rather than the typical Blackburn Rovers who are also local and he was THE key factor in their promotion season. Apparently he's a hard worker who never stops running even when there is little to run for and you have tot think he would do considerably better than 6 goals in a team that wont be parking the bus and in which he will be surrounded by support coming from all angles rather than just waiting for the occasional long ball to chase alone. Something for Niko and the wingers to aim for knowing he wall always be in there and he can take them high or low.

Chances are that may be taken down soon so for anyone who might want to keep it you can download it using this link. http://keepvid.com You don't need the keepvid pro thing where it's offering you to try it for free. Simply get the link for the youtube video which is this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK_uAWT40C8 Then enter it in the box at the keepvid link with the button next to it that says download. After you enter the link and hit download it can take a little time to do anything after that so don't keep hitting download. When it does move after hitting the download button you're going to be presented with a list of options some of which are video only and others audio only. Select Download MP4 « - 720p and it will be downloaded into whatever folder is your default download folder.

I would have reservations about that, we're trying to build a team not sell one and since he is contracted for another 3 years there is no need to rush him out the door to cash in at this time.
-
I couldn't say exactly what standard he is but as far as England goalkeepers go they're disasters already happening not waiting to happen.
-
He's 5ft 10 according to both transfer market and wiki but that doesn't put me off him in any way. Crooks is at least 6ft 3in and allegedly up to 6ft 5in according to Windass but I don't know how we could accommodate all these players in the same team. Not that i'm complaining, better than last year when we struggled to fill a bench at times. If Garner comes in the midfield and striking areas would have a depth of good cover leaving just the problem CB area to be resolved which hopefully will be. Every time he makes his now customary remarks about new signings he almost invariably mentions two. I think we can be pretty certain a second wouldn't be another midfielder or a striker.
-
I saw a figure of 750K up front plus add ons being bandied around someplace. Judging by what Preston fans are saying they don't want him to go but if he does then they already have a surplus of strikers anyway so it makes sense for them to get some money out of him to strengthen elsewhere in the squad.
-
You sure he's really not one of them? "Happy" with a 4th placed finish? I wont be happy with second but would accept it given recent circumstances.
