  1. I imagine the club look at fan forums such as this one to judge the feelings of the fans on such issues as the SFA statement. Now i'm not saying anyone should read anything into this but last night a forum user with the name I think it was D KING123 or something like that who apparently has been a member for a few years or so but has never posted was looking at our topic on the SFA statement. Now today we have this.
  2. Yeah no doubt. I wouldn't want to take a young family to a foreign non English speaking country either.
  3. One thing Preston fans don't like about this proposal is that it reduces the Championship from 24 clubs to 20 which they think could feasibly reduce them to league 1 status indefinitely.
  4. Strong relegation candidates. EPL clubs regularly struggle to compete with Italian clubs. Milan just beat Juventus on Juventus own turf at the weekend.
  5. As far as i'm aware that's exactly all that's required. It's happened before and nobody can stop it. ALL of the top clubs in England resigned from the old first division to create the premier league and the same thing happened in Scotland to create the SPL. Nobody can dictate to a club which league they're going to play in.
  6. Says it all about English football right now. Jack Wilshere turns down Roma and AC Milan to sign for Bournemouth. Stadium capacity 11,464.
  7. Maybe you're aware of something unknown to me? Can you show me something demonstrating that the SFA can decide where Rangers choose to play their football? I have never seen anything that remotely suggested the SFA can tell anyone what to do with their club. The media never mention any such thing when all manner of alternative leagues are raised whether it be England or a North Atlantic league. This is a private company, the SFA don't own it. They could allow us or disallow us to play in the Scottish cup but outside that they're nothing to my knowledge. But again if you can show me anything suggesting otherwise I would be interested to see it.
  8. Well you're at odds with the fans of clubs currently in the football league in England who think there is a distinct possibility this can and will become a reality. TV money rules the game and the football league is determined to reorganise and get a TV deal of their own because the EPL point blank refuses to give them what they consider to be a fair share of the pot. They would and will invite anybody SKY asked for into it and while many fans in England think it's unfair they also realise the inevitability that the football league will dance to the SKY tune like everyone else does. Regarding fans being unhappy about it this is a comment by one of them. While another responded to that with this.
  9. This one could be a good surprise loan if it could be pulled off at the last minute, he's a CB and apparently Klopp wont sell him despite the fact he wants to leave because he hasn't been given a minute of game time and due to recent signings wont be getting any this season.
  10. And my point is it shouldn't be punished any more harshly simply because it was decided at later time that it was a dive.
  11. Absolutely worth it. People are talking about it might take years. So what? Let's say it took 6 years and that would be presuming winning leagues 3, 2, and 1 in succession then say 3 years in the Championship where incidentally we would be making more money than we are on this sinking ship before a promotion. Alternatively stay here and how many times would we win the SPL inside that same 6 years? Let's say we won it half the time for 3 wins then presume further that we actually made it to the group stage all 3 times which in itself is a big ask on an SPL budget. What would that get us? Well judging by what they are allegedly going to make about 20 to 30 million each time for a total of 90 million if we presume the maximum. A single year in the EPL would get us more than that. What is there to even think about when aside from all that it gets us out of the poisonous shithole we are in where apparently we're not even wanted. There is NOTHING to think about if this invitation came.
  12. I know this is being discussed on another thread in Rangers chat but the facet i'm introducing I would rather be here in a less public forum. The proposal to reorganise the English leagues including the possibility of an invitation to us to join is being discussed on Preston North End forums which I will provide this link to if anyone is interested. http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?100316-League-3-rears-its-head-again! While they have varied opinions on this i'm going to post just a couple of comments made there by Preston fans starting with this one. Another of them responded to that with this. And I responded to him with this.
  13. If that were indeed the case I would love us to make a last minute signing in the window then say to him you know what Philippe, you waited too long mate so now we're offering you nothing.
  14. Record now claiming that Lescott has taken a dig at Rangers with this headline. What he actually said was this. "I moved to Greece because I wanted to win trophies with AEK" Am I missing something? What if had been signed for us and said I moved to Scotland because I wanted to win trophies with Rangers. Who would that be a 'jibe' at?
  15. Simply comes down to nothing available in our range that's either good enough or is willing to sign. We're all aware of the known attempts that din't work out for one reason and another and there are likely to have been many more inquiries we don't know about. As it stands that's that. If they were to sign something that isn't any better than that we already have just to make up a number then there would be complaints about that too. The club can't be blamed for making attempts to fill this gap but failing to do so in a relatively minuscule pool to draw from. Ie. trying to find decent quality willing to sign for us among freebies and and transfer fees within our range.
  16. Wonder if Crooks will play CB again which as far as i'm aware isn't what he was signed for.
  17. The thing is work for them on non match days largely amounts to little more than a few hours a day of training and discussion. I would guess most of them are getting out of there at maybe noon each day. I don't think they need a break from that kind of schedule.
  18. You know what a farce it is when even the record has this to say.
  19. ANY lawyer even of low standing could decimate the assertion that Rangers had any large percentage of blame in this fiasco and that there was no assault on Rangers players. The club or a fan group only has to go get one. A first year student of law could decimate it. And if they want to dismiss it within the SFA cabal which isn't bound by law or even indisputable reality then simply take it to the courts on the basis of slander/libel of the club and it's support. THAT'S where their imaginary version would quickly fall to pieces in full public view.
  20. While agreeing there are complex factors involved when speaking of 'all flags' as an example I think it's pretty obvious there is something more than flag waving going on when firstly you consider who is waving the flags as in a group with a history of supporting terrorist groups and when the flag waving takes place as in when facing an Israeli team. Waving a flag that is in support of a terrorist entity ie hamas who are declared to be a terrorist entity by both the US and the EU and who have an openly stated agenda to genocide all Jews globally. Would it be acceptable to wave Nazi flags when facing Israelis? [video=youtube;2H8HFb-YG00]
  21. I imagine someone affiliated with the club will take it up because it's a rare case in which it's so easy to demonstrate what actually happened. I could do it myself with barely 5 minutes on youtube.
  22. And of course all the exuberant ones are talking about in relation to this complaint is 'sectarian singing' Damage to the pitch and stadium, nothing in comparison to singing. Assaults on Rangers players, nothing in comparison to singing, forget that. And so on. Example. So if you punch someone in the face but were singing a song prior to that then the singing is obviously the more troubling offence. Or alternatively if you punch someone in the face and weren't singing at all then hey, no big deal as long as there was no singing involved.
  23. I doubt Newcastle or Villa will be spending any length of time there and even they are nothing like the draw Rangers are and would be in the English setup. Rangers have an estimated 1.4 million fans in the UK alone which Newcastle and Villa combined couldn't match and once in the English environment and driving towards the promised land that type of fan base would be invigorated no end. I doubt anything below the Championship would present much of a problem then once in the Championship with the big stage just a step away you have to feel it would be an attractive investment proposition for all manner of sponsorship etc to tap into that vast fan base little in all of England can match. Even things such as our own Rangers TV would see a massive uptake not just in the UK but globally where there is an estimated minimum fan base in excess of 8 million. And at the end of the day anything has to be better than the current cess pit. Success for us in the current setup means little more than winning the Scottish league which in itself is hardly success of the type a club of our standing and history should be happy with. Euro success should be the real ambition and that's not going to happen if we stay where we are judging success to be winning a Mickey Mouse league.
  24. As Professor Tom Gallagher, a Catholic unionist, put it: “Hamas’s militancy against an alleged oppressor is celebrated just as the IRA’s terrorist operations were defended by a vocal minority of Celtic fans a generation ago.” His criticism is echoed by the Scots Catholic composer James McMillan, who speaks of their hatred as being “encouraged by edgy, lefty ‘celebs’ who urge the young, semi-educated fans to be radical daredevils like them.” Pleasingly, Uefa — which bans “messages that are of a political, ideological, religious, offensive or provocative nature” — takes a dim view of such flag-waving. It fined the club £16,000 for a similar offence two years ago. In protest against critics, fans have crowd-funded £160,000 to date to pay the latest fine and contribute to Palestinian charities. Unlike Rangers fans — who are this time on the side of the angels — they show no concern about the shocking treatment by Hamas of women, gays and non-Muslims, which is similarly ignored by those who desecrated Jewish graves in Belfast City Cemetery on Friday. It’s about time the Catholic Church took a firm stance against such behaviour and uncoupled its creaky wagon from the SNP, Celtic and the old-fashioned, tunnel-visioned nationalism that still exists among northern republicans but is being left behind in the Republic. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/opinion/columnists/ruth-dudley-edwards/celtic-fans-who-vent-their-narrowminded-hatred-of-israel-should-be-given-the-red-card-35002465.html
  25. I feel that some avenue of escape will come along in the next few years or so and it will be taken then Partick etc can enjoy competing in a league they have a chance of winning something in while enjoying the additional factor that there will be even less money for them in a league that's already skint. Hope they all relish that when they get what they apparently wanted 4 years ago. Whichever escape route we take we have to accept that "they" will probably be coming with us which makes all the new club pish all the more dimwitted. The grunts parroting that will then find themselves in a position where anyone inviting us will be specifying oh we want sellick and a new club because we're that stupid you know. And look at it from another perspective. They would NEVER have the chance to match our league haul even with their new club grunting. There is no money in this league and there's never going to be. As it stands we and they are effectively already the only thing elevating it a shade above the league of Ireland. Something will come along and we have to take it and I hope it's England even if that means starting at a lower level. And when it comes fuck them all left behind in their hateful little hole of irrelevance.
