SFA probe Joey Barton on claims he broke footie player betting rules
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I would rather hold on to him than pay him off. Make him play in the reserves or something. If Joey were true to form inside a few months he would talk himself into a sacking or alternatively decide that 2 years out of football wasn't worth it when he could simply agree a divorce and find another club. -
Amusing how back then NZ papers were talking about news from Britain like this. The point being they were referring to Britain as at Home. No conception yet that NZ is their home.

Yes and that's the reality isn't it. We will see "tasty challenges" in many if not most top level games and the vast majority do not result in red cards but any such tackle by a Rangers player is wildly exaggerated in it's ferocity. And is always a red card which if it isn't given then it's straight to conspiracy. Incidentally that guy got up and played on with his knee almost ripped apart. Must be terminator. Hope he helps to rip their stupid arses apart on Saturday and makes them wish his knee had been torn apart.

That's something that's already being obsessed over on various non friendly forums and I would guess in large part due to the way you're all describing how it was obsessed over on BT which I didn't see because I saw it on a Rangers TV stream. The stupidity is of such a level that apparently the only reason Rangers won is because Forrester wasn't sent off. Example. Yet the guy got up and walked away and played on with a knee almost "ripped apart' And of course the old favourite. It's a conspiracy. You just have to laugh and laugh I will when QoS hand them their arses on Saturday.

And you have to laugh at the exuberant ones over in Edinburgh who will be playing QoS on Saturday. The claim is that Rangers are 'pish' so anybody being slaughtered by them is even worse. Even after being beaten at home by Ayr on Saturday they are fantasising that this drubbing means QoS are useless and they will easily beat them despite the fact no one in that league has managed to beat them far less drub them. How sweet if QoS now give them a hiding on Saturday to go 4 points clear in the Championship.

SFA probe Joey Barton on claims he broke footie player betting rules

I know a guy who was playing for a current Scottish league 1 side though they may have been in a lower tier at the time who was betting against his own team in matches he was playing in. Currently playing Junior football. He was a shade smarter than Joey. Other people were placing his bets. -
You will find out in Joey's next book. The one coming out on Thursday is titled 'No Nonsense: The Autobiography' The next one will be 'Plenty Nonsense'

Club Statement: Joey Barton suspended for three weeks

If Derek Johnstone really did say that I would presume Derek had some reason to say it but it just doesn't sound right. The manager has always been his own man and left Brentford because they were going to implement a signing policy that took full control of signings out of his hands. He just recently signed an extension to his contract which would seem unlikely if someone were taking control of signings away from him and would he even play Joey Barton if he never wanted him? -
Didn't quite digest that they were using metres for the EPL dimensions but Pittodrie still appears to closely match up to the largest in England. A shade smaller than Ibrox. I don't know how much smaller it would need to be to start making a significant difference to a winger but I do remember something Davie Cooper once said. He was complaining about needing width to be a winger and mentioned narrower lower league grounds as presenting a problem to a winger and he specifically singled out Douglas Park as it was at the time perhaps because he was from Hamilton. He said that if he wanted to be a winger there he would need to be standing out on the M8.
