To be fair I don't think it's typical for most sides to take 50% of chances over a season. Read somewhere that one third is typical so say 33%.

Has to be embarrassing. Or so says Alan Shearer. England are the "laughing stock of world football" following manager Sam Allardyce's departure after only 67 days, says former captain Alan Shearer. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37490396

Assholes. Want to see Crooks and Dodoo get as much pitch time as possible to get them up to speed.

I don't think anybody cares if you change your mind so you shouldn't be too worried about that. All they're saying is you don't seem to have the same understanding of dominate in terms of a football match the footballing media and everybody else but you seems to have. If you want to have a view nobody else goes along with that's your perogative. As for softening any blows that's another misunderstanding. You can be as pessimistic as you want to be no one cares but they're not going to allow you without comment to make your own definitions of common place terms such as 'dominate' that are regularly applied to football matches in exactly the same way it's being applied by people here. They're not the ones out of step from that perspective you are. If you don't like this everyday parlance then ignore it.

Ian Wright slams ‘vile’ Old Firm derby and ‘pro-Rangers’ media
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If it were me I wouldn't talk about that facet of it at all if I don't want to depict both sides of it. It doesn't matter which side you play for the experience of being on the pitch is exactly the same regarding what's coming from either side of the terraces. There is only one perspective that incorporates the entirety. -
It does beggar belief. It's not only a criminal offence it's a firing offence that could lose them a multi million contract and see them booted out of the game entirely and for what? What must be a mere pittance in relation to what they earn if they actually win the bet? It's baffling.
-
That always gets me. How messed up in the head do you need to be to commit a serious offence such as betting on a game you're playing in when you're a multi millionaire with a contract guaranteeing more millions.

Didn't you know? Apparently we're not seeing Durrant diving and somehow tearing his knee to shreds in the process. That's how ludicrous they have become over it apparently oblivious to the fact it makes them look like weirdos far less idiots.

Sam Allardyce has left his post as England manager by mutual agreement with the Football Association after one match and 67 days in charge. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37483344

I think i'm more scornful of them than anything else and aside from a brief spell under Alex Ferguson they have never been a major force in Scottish football and still aren't. All this talk about 'challenging' for the title is vacuous babble. Finishing 15 points off the top last year and 17 the previous year isn't challenging. It's being distant runners up in a poor league. And hating us because one of their players almost ended the career of Durrant putting him out of the game for 3 years and still managed to reduce his powers significantly permanently? Bizarre.

A classic recent example of it. The heat map representing touches for Burnley (l) and Liverpool ® helps to illustrate the Reds' dominance. - they played 852 passes to Burnley's 207 - but they could not turn that into goals That's the media description of it regarding the 'dominance' not mine.
-
It didn't confuse me. You don't dominate a match scoring more goals you win a match scoring more goals. You can dominate and not win.

No one is happy with the results and no one would accept it staying like that but most of us including myself don't think it will stay like that. The team is beginning to perform and we expect the 'fine margins' Warburton talks of to start becoming more equably spread and the overall context of all this is that we're in no different a position than we were before Sunday. Before Sunday we were 3 points off second place and we're still 3 points off second place which is hardly reason for deep despondency.

Watch as Rangers fans appear to throw seats at Aberdeen fans
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I hope they're found and dealt with by the law plus banned by the club but I also hope the sheep element throwing seats back which this conveniently doesn't show and may be the cut you're referring to are also located because they're no less of 'sociopathic, violent yobs' -
He doesn't have the worst managerial record in 'Scottish history' by any description but if it actually means Rangers history that might be the case at this early stage but even that isn't taking the perspective into account. No Rangers manager in history has ever had to take a team from the second tier then settle it into the top tier with anything like the financial restraints that Warburton has to work with.

Ian Wright slams ‘vile’ Old Firm derby and ‘pro-Rangers’ media

I don't think anyone here has claimed otherwise, the thing with Wright is that he's painting it as if it's all one sided. -

No mention of support for terrorists who indiscriminately target and kill British citizens and soldiers of any religious persuasion at all renders his rant totally meaningless. What does disrupting a remembrance day silence with chants in support of terrorists who kill our citizens have to do with sport? -
The opinion of the professional pundits in England is that they are awesome in attack but sporadically suspect in defence which against lesser opposition probably wont be much of a problem overall. And given that they have barrels of money to throw at any apparent deficiency we may even see Klopp pull out a German brick wall defender or two in the next window to make them an even more formidable outfit. At this stage they arguably look like the best of the rest outside City. And speaking of City I hope they turn up in Glasgow tomorrow night looking to match the Barca tally against that lot and I feel they might be going all out because top place in their group could feasibly come down to goal difference.

Watch as Rangers fans appear to throw seats at Aberdeen fans
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm never going to defend Rangers fans when they're in the wrong and if evidence is produced to prove they're in the wrong I will take the same view of them as I do opposing fans who step out of line. And that's a major difference between me and opposing fans. I rarely if ever see them take the view I would against fans of any persuasion who get out of line. I want all missile throwers, pyrotechnic clowns etc. weeded out of our support. -
Baffling isn't it and especially so from McCann who I wouldn't see as having any bias against us and as you say they didn't even have a dominant 5 minutes. The best they ever had were sporadic attempts to get into our territory which were ultimately broken up then the game returned to Rangers dominance. I would bet that if exactly the same game had played out the only difference being that both Garner and Waghorn had netted with their open goal chances rather than skying them over the bar and we had won 3-2 that they wouldn't be saying that. It would have been a dominant victory with the sheep lucky to finish it within a goal of us due to a foul that never was.
