  1. I can see a scenario developing where Man City will need to really hump them in the final game to either qualify for the last 16 or stay in Europe at all. Gladbach themselves now have every incentive to hammer them by as many goals as possible in Germany.
  2. A difference is that Gladbach team had at least one player in his prime who went on to win the world cup just as the Bayern Munich side Rangers defeated on the way to a cup winners cup win contained the nucleus of a world cup winning side in their prime.
  3. These ratings are meaningless. They were given higher ratings against City simply because City are a top side who they were lucky to catch a time they had begun misfiring. City had lost their previous match 2-0 and the one before that was a 1-1 draw at home. City just weren't playing to their capabilities which made them look a shade better. Monchengladbach who aren't on the same level as City and were hammered 4-0 by them at Maine Rd simply played to their capability and that's too much for ra sellick. It's like putting a midget in against Mike Tyson in his prime then giving the midget a poor rating when gets demolished but a good rating in his previous fight when he beat another midget half his size.
  4. And an obvious sellick fan trying to spell Monchengladbach. Cursing the fact they can't copy/paste on to a blackboard.
  5. Rod Stewart should be singing this.
  6. Yeah tired, somehow playing matches is more tiring for them than for everybody else. As if Monchengladbach have been resting prior to this.
  7. Well now we have the first part of my desired scenario for the lead up to this game, they weren't just beaten by Monchengladbach they were totally outplayed and could easily have been beaten by more.
  8. An average of 4 per game. When the draw was made I said there was a very good chance they could finish the 6 games with zero points. I was wrong but I would hazard a guess that the bookies at this stage would give you little better than odds on that they will now finish it with 1 point. They have 1 home game remaining and that's against the rampaging Barca, no contest. Two away games against a Monchengladbach who are clearly superior to them and will want to guarantee third place and a City side who are on another planet in comparison and who may need a result to secure qualification.
  9. 12 goals against in 3 CL games
  10. Half time stats score 0-0 Reality bites, they're lucky to still be in it.
  11. And Kenny Dalglish was a Rangers fan but not sure how many titles he won us. They never lose anything fair and square. Everything is a conspiracy.
  12. Scotland Under-16s call up 13-year-old Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele
  13. Yes, it's mythology no more real than Gullivers travels so has no bearing in the real world. If that boy were hit hard by Crooks he's going to be in trouble.
  14. I believe that had to quit that no draws nonsense to get any type of accreditation from FIFA. Americans will destroy any game given the chance. Look what they did to rugby. Turned it into a 4 hour stop start bore. I have actually been to an American 'football' game and you're constantly having to stand up to let someone out for hot dogs or something. There is no sense of continuity so they spend hours of it wandering back and forth to vendors which kills any atmosphere that might build.
  15. This is an entirely different game which Murdo seems to be ignoring in favour of branding it part two. We didn't turn up at all that day and despite that we were still in it until Senderos got his marching orders and that's when it totally fell apart since we had just withdrawn the other CB minutes earlier. We need to get into it straight away which seems to be a problem for us in many games and Caley recently were another example of that. It took 10 minutes or so to warm up and start pinning them back. And Caley are also actually an example that they're no great shakes outside their own hovel as Caley recently held them to a draw in Inverness. We're better than Caley, we can take it a step further. But I get the feeling this could be another extra time drama and if we're were going to utilise Kranjcar he has to be used at the right time because there is no way he can be effective for 120 minutes. This could be a perfect game for Garner to do his thing provided he can keep his aggression to an acceptable level, we can't afford to go down to 10 men a second time. And O'Halloran was always a pain in their side when with St Johnstone. We have many options and I would have liked Rossiter to be one of them but he has been out for weeks and can't possibly be 100% A bad night against Monchengladbach could put a pin in their little bubble of optimism because they think they're now Euro giants after one result against Man City that wasn't even a win.
  16. Let me just finish this discussion with the greatest of them all. Could play outfield if need be too.
  17. First half has been nothing like the fireworks expected from this game and has in fact been a bit of a bore fest. If it continues like this it could very well be a draw and a dull one at that.
  18. If he actually said 'man to man' that alone is idiotic and perfectly illustrates his mentality and why the club don't want to talk to him at all. Man to man??? That's the way to describe what's supposed to be a civil discussion about football? What a complete arse.
  19. The sheer ignorance is there for all to see in that they apparently think it's acceptable behaviour to abuse a man shopping in a supermarket who has done absolutely nothing to invite any such attention. Of course if I were to accost this total grunt in exactly the same situation and with no provocation then enlighten him with the fact that he is indeed a complete piece of shit that would be unacceptable. Or can I do this to any of their players I encounter or anyone at all wearing their colours then proudly facebook it and be commended? Glad he just walked away from the grunting tosser. Ever noticed that it's most common for a grunt to end up on the wrong side of a kicking when starting shit with a footballer? Presumably grunt IQ doesn't extend to grasping that this is an athlete in superb condition and you're a cider swigging grunt whose most strenuous activity is raising the cider to the gob.
  20. As far as i'm aware there is no obligation to provide a pre match interview but it is apparently in the contract that a post match interview is required and we declined to give them that too.
  21. I would still prefer to find a way through this and keep him but that's beginning to look ever more untenable.
  22. BBC take on it. And incidentally I have seen no one in any position of authority even hinting that flouting betting rules can be reason for a sacking, as far as i'm aware it would be a first. He has committed no crime.
  23. Liverpool can go equal top on points Monday night and a win would leave all of the top 3 on 19 points. Have to take them to at least score and probably favourites. Utd haven't registered an away win since August 27th which was a narrow 1-0 against relegation strugglers Hull. And of course it goes without saying that if Liverpool win Mourinho should be sacked. I think we should all be noting how quickly things can change in football. After the first half dozen games it was all about City are going to run away with it who will be second and now just a couple of games later it's all up in the air and nothing like so clear cut.
  24. Just been watching the beginning of the match which I missed last night. Nice to see the minutes silence for Ryan Baird being respected. I'm pretty confident that wouldn't have been the case at all grounds.
