We have been above Aberdeen in the league and there is every possibility we will be again and in fact could be above them again in the next 24 hours. They were not in any way shape or form competitive in the Champions league and I feel entitled to call claims to the contrary drivel. They were barely competitive in the qualifiers far less the Champions league proper and were arguably lucky to be there at all. If not for a missed penalty in Israel they wouldn't have been. How competitive is that. We on the other hand went to Aberdeen and outplayed them on their own patch and were only robbed of at least a point by an erroneous last minute refereeing decision.

The commentator mentioned it at the time.

[FT] Partick Thistle 1 - 2 Rangers (Dodoo 81; 94)

Can't rob them of a great cup victory. -
A couple of cans of red bull for each of the starting 11 may be beneficial at times. As for anything more I suppose they may indeed be interested in a side who are so high profile and likely to be in European competition along the way.

I'm guessing he got 1 point for the short sleeves and the other 6 for the entrainment value when he tried to go 'through' Messi and ended up all alone on his arse with Messi motoring off into the distance wondering who the knob in the short sleeves was.

Presumably everyone wants to see a fitting revenge for their robbery last time. I know I do.

Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17

As things stand despite stuttering performances largely down to dominating but simply not scoring all we want in this window is someone who can help with this lack of goals. Start imposing our dominance by putting the ball in the net more often and we will easily get that Euro spot which is an absolute necessity. If we can secure that then add some more strength in the Summer to get us an actual Europa league proper run then from that point we will be leaving the sheep etc in our wake while in the act of doing so closing the gap between us and the main opponent. From that perspective January could be viewed as a crucial window. -
According to reports he wants to go home to recuperate and they want him in Greece where he can be monitored. I think it's their call when it comes to such a thing and if he insists on defying them then it could be a sacking offence and he's out the door. All that aside it would appear to verify our medical team got it right on this one. Just 4 games and he was crocked. So much for all the accusations at the time of doing the man a bad turn by accusing him of having a dodgy knee which the club didn't even do or at least not publicly. There were rumours going around that the medical team uncovered a knee issue they decided was too much of a risk and if that's true they have been proven 100% correct.

Well i'm guessing absolutely everyone in it can compete using the logic of Sutton. It's brilliant that competing means finishing bottom of a group with zero wins and 15 goals conceded in 5 matches with certainly a bundle more to come at Manchester City who at home took 3 from Barca and 4 from Monchengladbach. Presumably finishing second bottom and actually winning a match means super competitive.
-
That had to be embarrassing. He could't even get a kick at the man far less the ball.
-
Well barring a a set of events less likely than Hamilton winning the champions league they're finishing bottom of the group with a current 15 goals conceded and still to go to Manchester where Barca were hit for 3 and where Monchengladbach lost 4. Over and out.

I saw 'objects' raining down around him as he lined up to take a corner. I don't think that's why he went off but it did happen.
-
You know I think the commentator had a point when he mentioned earlier that Neymar was looking for that booking. It rules him out of the final group match which is going to be meaningless anyway. Get's it out of the way.
-
I know they will argue it in their usual unrealistic fashion but that was a clear penalty.
-
I was hoping Monchengladbach, (a German team) would hold on to lead at half time and now hope they can still win it because that would set up a disastrous situation for 'ra sellick' If Barcelona win and City lose then not only are ra sellick guaranteed to be bottom of the group and out of Europe entirely but also Barca would already be guaranteed top spot and hardly motivated to break a leg in their final match against Monchengladbach. While Gladbach on the other hand totally would be because they would have a chance of stealing second spot. And to top that off City would be obliged to go all out against ra sellick.

Then mix in the fact they have allegedly expressed an interest in Waghorn in the first place when they apparently already have a perfectly good striker and also it would appear that regardless of the fact they don't want to lose him they're going to. And what's the most appealing next step for Taylor himself? Move to one of these other 'League One and Championship clubs' or move to Rangers where he will have the chance of playing in front of 40K+ on a regular basis and the possibility of a crack at Euro football next Summer which if he stays in England the odds are he will never get that opportunity. -
Well who knows, we might see a 'good honest 1950's scoreline' in the CL tonight too. No hints regarding which match i'm thinking of.

Andy Woodward: ‘It was the softer, weaker boys he targeted’

I can confirm that John McCluskey who is mentioned in that piece became an utter shambles. Saw him in a pub in Hamilton one night in the 1990's shabbily dressed and so out of his face he could barely talk. Though to be fair he also suffered a horrific ankle injury around age 14 which did his chances no good at all. I think he was out of football by around age 18. His younger brother George McCluskey went on to play for Celtic. Hard to say if that brought John great pleasure mixed with bitter memories of what might have been. He was always rated by everyone as infinitely better than George. -

Anybody smell a swap deal using Waghorn as part payment? -
The likes of Beckham are fed these deals by others looking to get a cut from it. Agent calls, wanna turn up and spend an hour having some photos taken? You get a couple of million quid and I get 10%. How about it mate? Buddy. Pal.
-
Won the first leg at Ibrox 2-0, lost the away leg 2-0 and went out on penalties. Who ever beats the Germans at penalties? Have a better chance with a coin toss.
-
How about this for a Euro goal. Following a 20 pass move in which all 10 outfield players had a touch.
-
Maybe a shade more than Derek who ate the pies Johnstone.

I think we're going to have to see them come up against the likes of Liverpool and City before any meaningful appraisal can be made. Take the stats from yesterdays match against Middlesbrough for example. Possession: Middlesbrough 42% - Chelsea 58% Shots: Middlesbrough 12 - Chelsea 13 Shots on target: Middlesbrough 1 - Chelsea 3 Corners: Middlesbrough 2 - Chelsea 3 That's hardly overwhelming while Liverpool had far more impressive stats against Southampton but were held to a 0-0. Take the possession and shots from the Liverpool match as a comparison. Possession: Southampton 35% - Liverpool 65% Shots: Southampton 3 - Liverpool 15 Chelsea have to face Liverpool at Anifield and that will be telling and give us a better idea of where each of them stand. Over the course of it City have greater depth to their squad so have to be favourites but it's a highly competitive league and too early to make predictions.
