Craig Whyte cuts cash claim against oldco Rangers by over £21million
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The gall of this creature is mind boggling. So does this mean there is now no masquerade of ever having being someone who was only interested in the wellbeing of the club? Is this an admission that it was an attempted asset stripping con from day one? -

Rangers are good enough to beat Celtic on Hogmanay says Kris Boyd

I get where you're coming from and have similar misgivings in the back of my mind regarding Garner and his racking up of cards and the attacks being carried out on McKay are worrying. But at the same time we need to now continue with the momentum we have been building and that's going to require fielding the strongest possible team. Away to St Johnstone is another tricky one. Beating them on Hogmanay has to be preceded by a continued winning streak or it would be like two steps backward before taking another forward. Plus if the following is true the Garner card count wont be a factor even if he is booked again next week. -
He did say that Gough always seemed to be suspended for the festive period but he was indeed joking and made absolutely no suggestion that Gough was deliberately manipulating it.

And yet prior to the last 3 games on the night we lost at Tynecastle we were still in equal second spot on 26 points. That's woeful? And the core argument is that we were always going to come right, finish the season a comfortable minimum second, and that calls for the head of the manager were ridiculous.
-
Yes that was one of the worst things about it for me. Losing the manager would be a disaster at this stage yet many actually advocated self inflicted disaster by sacking him when we should be doing everything in our power to keep him for years to come. And it will start all over again with another contrary result somewhere along the way.
-
The first Hearts game? There were screams of "lucky to be top 6" long before that. I was personally being mocked as not in touch with reality when I continued insisting all would come right that we would be second minimum and by a comfortable margin.
-
How ironic if he continues not scoring until the visit of those he scored his first against. The opposition must be going into the dressing room and playing count the bruises after facing Garner for 90 minutes.

I agree we were in possession but he was almost on the goal line not far outside our penalty box with two Accies players on him. I don't think they should have been taking it for granted that there was no danger with the ball close enough to our goal that a chip could put it in front of the goal in a second. And as it turned out as you say that error could have cost us 2 points in a match which even the manager later side we should have been "out of sight" in that second half. It also troubled me that after completely dominating that goal seemed to initiate some sort of collapse with Accies coming right back into it for almost the first time in the match. What happened? Why couldn't they just kick off again and carry on as they had the entire match prior to the Accies goal?

Young players before Rangers Academy was established

The 60's was an entirely different world from the Scotland of the 2,000s though. In the 60's and especially so during School holidays all day every day no matter where you went there would be boys kicking a ball around. On any patch of grass, any open spread of concrete, on the streets. Anywhere at all and you don't see that anymore. With so many playing all the time you're bound to get some real quality surfacing on a regular basis and in 60's and 70's Scotland we did. Rangers won the cup winners cup with a team composed entirely of Scots which in the semi finals beat a Bayern Munich side containing the core of the German world cup side that would win the world cup just 2 years later. Celtic did the same thing 5 years earlier in the European cup final also with a team composed entirely of Scots. Can you imagine any team composed entirely of Scots getting anywhere in Euro competition now? At that time being in Europe after Christmas was a minimum expectation and something of an embarrassment if not achieved while now it's seen as remarkable if achieved. A bonus not an expectation. I have no doubt there are in Scotland right now many teenagers and young 20's who would have been great footballers if they had grown up like those guys back in the 60's did but instead grew up rarely if ever kicking a ball if it wasn't a digital ball on an X-box. It's simply the way it is now and there is no going back to that. -
Aside from the Halliday slip up it bothered me too that Imrie appeared to be standing all alone in acres of empty space. Was he invisible?

The more I watch that header for the first goal the more impressed I become. It was coming at him at a fair pace and he got on to it very nicely. And another example of how we're now getting a fair share of the 'fine margins' Earlier in the season instead of going in off the bar it would have been over off the bar or at least that's the way I felt earlier in the season when we were dominant but getting absolutely no breaks.

I found this bit amusing. Last time they played at Dens there was a crowd of 6,321 in a ground with a capacity of 11,506 which is hardly something to brag about. Dundee had only a thousand or so less than that in the crowd when they hosted our opponents tonight Hamilton. Hamilton have the smallest home average attendance in the league by a distance. Their average is barely half that of the next lowest Ross County. But getting past the amusement and on to the main complaint. Yes it would be a sensible option if Aberdeen were the main event. But since the main event is kept till later and Aberdeen are never going to be that when Rangers are also playing all I can say is. BOOHOO
-
One yellow away from a ban. That's a problem with Caley then St Johnstone to deal with before the new year fixture. I was irritated when he got a card tonight. It was absolutely nothing.
-
Glad to see the manager concede one thing. "We should have been out of sight, we cut them open time and time again"
-
Think they drenched it in water and that's what was giving it a patchy appearance under the lights. One of the BT commentators said before the match that he had never seen a plastic pitch so heavily watered.
-
We're the only side out of the current top 5 to have beaten Hamilton on their own patch and aside from the late Halliday blooper which somewhat changed the tempo we completely dominated them.
-
Now 7 points clear of the sheep who though they have two games in hand are crap and I doubt will take full points from their next 4 of which 3 are away to Ross County, Motherwell and Hearts at Tynecastle. In among all that they have a home game with Hamilton.
-
Why the hell didn't Kiernan just clear that.
-
That was really poor from Halliday. He's going to get pelters if Accies steal something from this though I doubt it. That was their only shot on target.
-
Hamilton haven't registered a shot on target the entire match while we have 7 on target. This at least so far is a good result, I was worried about this one because all our competitors have struggled here. The sheep were beaten here while both Hearts and St Johnstone had to settle for a share of the points.
-
It's not over yet but it's beginning to look like a comfortable away win at a place very few have been winning. Not even Accies. LOL
