Hearts are looking through CCTV footage after a bottle appeared to be thrown from the away end during the Boxing Day Edinburgh derby. If confirmed, it'll be the second such incident involving Hibs fans in the space of a week after a vodka bottle was thrown in the direction of Rangers defender Borna Barisic during last Friday's 3-0 defeat at Easter Road. This latest occurrence happened during the 2-0 victory over rivals Hearts and saw a Budweiser bottle smash off the back of the LED advertising boards behind the goals at the Roseburn Stand. The missile landed just beside the press photographers, though nobody was hit by the either the bottle or shattered debris. A Hibs spokesperson told the Scottish Sun: “If the CCTV shows any bottle was thrown by a person from the Hibernian end we will provide any cooperation required. “Everyone has to understand that throwing missiles is completely unacceptable.” https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/latest-hibs-news/completely-unacceptable-hibs-respond-second-bottle-throwing-probe-within-week-1350126

Not a very competitive league is it. At least last year there were two of them running away with it. And then there was one.

A feature of this is that most fans of other clubs think Rangers have banned the BBC from Ibrox which as we know isn't the case. It's actually a boycott by the BBC over one journo. The club should make that clearer. -
Does that settle the title? Leicester 0 - Liverpool 4 I'm hoping it's the season of Gerrard since we all know how he will feel about it. I have no doubt he was watching this destruction.

To be fair they're not the only ones. But they're probably better at it than most which makes for a frustrating afternoon with little entertainment. -

There's definitely no consistency to it but Cosgrove for one has been getting away with his actions too long. Watch for the squeals from the sheep when Livi and Dykes dish out some of the same on Thursday. See what they think of it then.

Better than last Xmas from a Rangers perspective. True we were in a decent league position last Xmas but were out of Europe and out of the league cup at the semi final stage. And there was nothing like the confidence in the ability of the team we have this year.

Turns out the ref was correct or at least the panel decided he was. Cosgrove loses appeal. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18122352.aberdeen-lose-appeal-sam-cosgrove-red-card/

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher insists the red cards handed out to Ryan Porteous and Sam Cosgrove were both spot on. There has been plenty of debate after the pair were dismissed at the weekend for their respective challenges on Borna Barisic and Kristoffer Ajer . Hibs defender Porteous was given a straight red for his late tackle on Barisic as Rangers ran out 3-0 winners at Easter Road. Less than 24 hours later Sam Cosgrove then suffered the same fate as he lunged in on Ajer as Celtic edged out Aberdeen 2-1 at Parkhead. Dons boss Derek McInnes was adamant it was the wrong call and the Pittodrie club has subsequently appealed the decision, with the case to be heard at Hampden tomorrow evening. But former ref Gallagher believes both players deserved to see red. Talking about Porteous' tackle, he said: "You don't really need me to judge this one, do you? "Not only does he clatter into him, he sets himself and bang." On Cosgrove's sending off, he added: "I think the referee judges the distance he's come and the speed. "There's no doubt he gets the ball. He touches the ball. I think the referee sees him coming so far and lunges in. "He's given it for serious foul play." https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sam-cosgrove-ryan-porteous-red-21154614

Hibs identify man who threw bottle at Rangers player
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I was wondering if this would happen because I knew there was a guy on their forum who had this to say. -
Don't see Leicester beating Liverpool. It's been said that they don't appear to be playing so well and are nicking games which some apparently put down to luck. Guardiola himself commented on that. He said that if it happened once or even two or three times it might be luck. But finished with when it happens so often it's not luck. They just know how to win in any circumstances.

They and by they I mean their idiot crowd will simply put their own spin on all that. The Commons article. The bottle throwing. That word 'exuberance' again. Covers and justifies pretty much anything. Except 'planned' chanting which can crack skulls and personally I have no idea how you plan that. -

Yes I agree. It was only by chance he didn't hurt Ajer and I would say there was a clear intent to injure. I would be amazed if that's rescinded on appeal. He did injure Davis and he should have walked for that too. Any referee looking at both these incidents and all of them should be looking at them should be taking note that this guy is showing a clear pattern and he needs to be stopped. -
Take away the play stations etc and make kids go outside to kick a ball. Croatia is considerably poorer than the UK and Uruguay even poorer. Their kids most likely aren't parked indoors playing with electronic devices day and night.

Since I would deem the throwing of glass bottles and hot drinks more dangerous than chanting to the safety of players and fans perhaps the FIFA advice should be taken into account when Rangers play away FIFA release three-step edict to combat racism, bigotry and all forms of discrimination

I'm repeating what was reported in the media. And who drinks cold bovril? -
Interesting interview. Seems he discovered in one of his earliest starts at 18 years old and up against Ginola that he wasn't physically strong enough.

So the sheep didn't even make shit. -
Maybe somebody should keep track of and tot up these votes. One way to gauge a player of the season or at least draw up a short list at the end.
