  1. If you listen to the usual suspects we're a cert for BSC Glasgow at Ibrox. Of course if recent history is anything to judge from that likely wont happen. At this stage last season we pulled Kilmarnock away then in the next round sheep away. A personal preference would be DU/hubz at Ibrox.
  2. I looked at the odds last night before Liverpool beat Man U 2-0 and you could get 50/1 City for the title if anyone thinks it's still a possibility. 1/41 Liverpool
  3. This game means nothing in the overall picture. Yes the performance was a a bit flat overall but there was still never a hint of anything but total dominance. Stranraer didn't register a single shot at goal or even gain a corner. Rangers got in 33 shots and had 12 corners. The yahoos hardly covered themselves in glory against a Partick side looking good to drop into league one but who managed to get in 6 shots 2 of which were on target. I still think we have the best side in the league.
  4. Tedious affair to watch partly because there was a total lack of urgency to the play but I suppose we might expect that in a case like this. No refection on Stranraer for that they were never in it and in fact I don't recall them registering a single shot even off target nor even a corner. They did nothing with their possession superiority. ? It played out almost entirely in their half with an air of inevitability that the ball had to go into their net at some point which it ultimately did, twice. Then it was over. Thankfully. Stranraer get their money we move on to the real business on Wednesday.
  5. Well at least we got our possession up to 37% according to the BBC. And an impressive 30 shots at goal for so little possession. A shot almost every time we get possession in their view.
  6. Well this is utter crap. Smoke break and hope it's back in a few.
  7. Glad to get a goal before halftime. Stranraer will tire in the final stages when we may see an avalanche.
  8. Pretty much what we expected lack of goals aside. Good old BBC and their stats. Possession: Rangers 32% - Stranraer 68% ?
  9. The only one I have any major concerns about is Hearts away. They're a dirty team. Second highest fouls conceded behind only the sheep and second highest yellow card count behind only Motherwell. And in their current desperate state of being relegation threatened may be even dirtier than usual. And yahoos aside one of only 2 who have taken any points from us. The other being the sheep who as mentioned are the dirtiest team in the league just ahead of Hearts. Given these stats I think it's pretty clear how likely that is to play out.
  10. I don't see how the system would work without either Tav or Barisic. Isn't pretty much all the width supplied by these two bombing up and down the wings? There are no back ups who could replace that. And they keep repeating that absolutely no key players will be leaving despite the attempts of the media to link them with moves.
  11. I think they're either undefeated in around a year or lost no more than once in a year and it's hard to see that dramatically change now. And I would say even if they took nothing from those 3 games which is highly unlikely they would still be hot favourites for the title.
  12. It would appear doubtful that anybody can catch up with Liverpool anytime soon. Liverpool this season aren't really any more potent than last season. They're consistently performing at a remarkable level from season to season. The difference is that City simply aren't matching them this season.
  13. I have a definite suspicion they're not so awash with money as their following think they are. Apparently they're disappointed with the signing of Klimala as they expected a much bigger splash since they're supposed to be so cash rich. But there has been a quality increase when it comes to Rangers signings. Think back to the sums Warburton was given to spend in comparison to Gerrard who made the second most expensive signing the club has ever acquired. The yahoos appear to find themselves in a position of having a much larger wage bill than Rangers being paid to a team who are being consistently outplayed by Rangers. And don't have the mega money their fans thought they did to change that in a single window.
  14. Which is another indication of the return to a level of acceptable Rangers quality. In recent years the club weren't in the same market as them when it came to transfers.
  15. I would suspect most managers may want to stay in the circumstances I just feel he's not most managers.
  16. Looks that way. Their holy grail is the title which is much like Rangers right now. I suspect they would prefer the title over being CL winners in consecutive seasons. Luckily for them the title looks to be already in the bag. I feel Klopp may want to win that title in consecutive seasons plus add another CL trophy before deciding maybe my job is done here.
  17. Seems he's not the only one who thinks that. Though this other person appears to have been somewhat erratic in his opinions.
  18. Looking a distinct possibility but i'm not entirely convinced at this point. Been reading they're trying to get him to extend his contract which already runs till 2022 and if that happens I think he may be at Rangers another season after this one. If we win this league the real prize economically would be CL groups. That could be a stretch if the team is being dismantled in the Summer. The CL could be worth 50 million or so and I don't see us getting that for Barisic. Though might I suppose if he stayed another season and performed well in the CL. At the end of the day while stuck in this poor league we're always going to be a selling club but there has to be some sort of balance. I'm hoping some of those who may be tempted to leave in the Summer might have second thoughts if we can get a crack at the CL.
  19. Never heard anything further about the bottle throwers at hubz who would apparently be easily identified by their hi-tech CCTV.
  20. To be fair I don't really know what sort of manager McInnes would have been at Rangers. At the sheep I expect he's working with what he has and what he has is an assorted bunch of league 1/2 freebies. Surely some different type of football would have been played with better quality at Rangers. But as I said, I don't know. But I would definitely apply dodged a bullet in the sense that we may not have had Gerrard. He's a massive upgrade on McInnes in many more ways than one.
  21. Also getting many in a frenzy regarding his comment about 'saving Scottish football' What he's obviously referring to is the lack of money in the Scottish game which presumably they're all content with given the sniping about that throwaway comment. The latest reason to obsess over Rangers. This is just an example from the MSM, the social media crowd are apoplectic about it. Yeah, great product. That game against Kilmarnock which was pretty typical was entertainment at it's best. No doubt people would tune in from across the globe to watch the McInnes cluggers too.
  22. Pretty much the way I see it. The fact he's doing this at all when more money is pretty meaningless to him indicates super driven to succeed. I envisage him doing it for maybe another 20 years or so before settling down to kick a ball around with grand kids.
  23. This is the crux of everything. The heat is on and I can just imagine the seethe if he went with a couple of youngsters and any points were dropped. This is likely to be a close run thing. A single draw that should have been a win could lose this league. Some might think fielding a team of youngsters against Stranraer may be practical but I don't. I want the first team out there working to shake off any January break rust before the real battle begins again.
