  1. RANGERS have become the first British club to receive a top award from the Ministry of Defence. The Ibrox club are among five employers from the south of Scotland who will receive an Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award for their support for the armed forces. Gers signed the 'Armed Forces Covenant' in October 2016 and have regularly welcomed guests to Ibrox as part of the Tickets for Troops initiatives. Rangers Charity Foundation will also receive the award for their support for a number of service charities working with existing and ex-forces personnel including Erskine, Poppyscotland, SSAFA and Combat Stress. Speaking on the honour, Gers director Stewart Robertson said: “Achieving the Gold Award is a wonderful recognition for both the Club and Foundation and I would like to pay tribute to everyone within Rangers, as well as our supporters, who have contributed to this important work over many years. “We are committed to doing whatever we can to support those who serve and promote an armed forces-friendly environment. I know that this special accolade will inspire us to advocate on behalf of the MOD’s Employers’ Recognition Scheme further. “Congratulations to all the organisations receiving an award in 2019.” Boss Steven Gerrard added: “This is proud moment for everyone at the Club and Foundation, who I know work hard to support serving Armed Forces personnel and veterans each season. “I hope that the fans will join us all in celebrating this special award – it’s well deserved.” Colin Vooght, head of engagement at Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA), said: “This is the first time a football club has attained a Gold Award and we congratulate Rangers in this fantastic achievement. “We have worked closely with Rangers over the last few years and have been impressed by the way they have translated their commitment into activity, with a range of initiatives to support service men and women. “I would also like to congratulate the wide variety of different organisations who received a Gold Award this year. This proves companies and institutions of all sizes and sectors can play their part in supporting the armed forces community in Scotland. “I am delighted that these employers have been recognised with the Ministry of Defence’s highest award and look forward to continuing to work alongside each of the award winners in the future.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4632915/rangers-first-football-club-ministry-of-defence-award/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1566459813
  2. Liverpool sticking to their guns and not willing to loan Ryan Kent to Rangers Liverpool will not budge on their stance over Ryan Kent and the winger will not be allowed to join Rangers on loan. Reports in Scotland suggested the 22-year-old, whose solitary first-team appearance for the Reds came in an FA Cup tie in January 2016, was prepared to try to force a move back to Ibrox, where he had a successful spell last season. However, Liverpool’s position has been clear from the start of the summer in that they see no value for them or the player in allowing him to return on loan and that will not change. The club’s preference is to sell last season’s Scottish young player of the year and they are looking for something in the region of £7million – a figure Rangers boss and former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard cannot meet. Manager Jurgen Klopp last month outlined the Merseyside club’s reasoning, saying: “Going back? If Rangers can buy him. The time is over giving him on loan. “At a specific age, a player needs to find a place to settle and stuff like this. A loan is not planned.” The PA news agency understands, despite claims Kent may “down tools” at Liverpool to force through a move, that the winger’s behaviour has been exemplary. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/sport/liverpool-sticking-to-their-guns-and-not-willing-to-loan-ryan-kent-to-rangers/
  3. Filip Helander is in line to play a part in Rangers tie against Legia Warsaw after a late change was made to bring the player into the squad. Helander was initially left out of the squad submitted to UEFA for the Europa League play-off, sitting the two-legged tie out alongside Greg Docherty. New recruits Brandon Barker and Andy King were included in the group. UEFA rules allow up to two changes to be made to the squad as long as they are communicated to the governing body at least 24 hours before the first leg. The squad has now updated with Barker sidelined and Helander registered and eligible for the match in Poland. The Swedish defender, who joined the Ibrox side from Bologna this summer, flew out from Glasgow Airport with manager Steven Gerrard and the rest of the squad on Wednesday morning. Helander played against East Fife in the League Cup on Sunday but has not yet played in European matches for his new side. Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and George Edmundson have played in central defence in the qualifiers so far. Gerrard is expected to explain the late change at his media conference on Wednesday evening https://stv.tv/sport/football/1440171-helander-drafted-into-rangers-europa-league-for-legia-tie/

  9. Greg Marshall Well-Known Member Today at 2:01 PM #1 Lifted from FF: RTV will be available commercially for Legia Warsaw v Rangers! This Thursday evening we take on Legia Warsaw in the Europa League third qualifying round first leg. As a Club, we have purchased the UK television rights making Rangers TV the only platform to watch the match live. Building on the success of our first commercial showing against Midtjylland we are keen for Rangers Supporter Bars, Pubs, and Clubs to get involved! Along with our individual stream package, our official venue stream can be purchased by establishments to show the game to larger audiences. The package allows your venue to officially advertise the stream as a licensed bar and will be recognised in our matchday programme in the return leg at Ibrox. Unlike with an external provider, all revenue generated from the stream will be reinvested in Rangers Football Club. To purchase, contact the commercial department on 0141 580 8701 Thanks for the continued support!
  10. Rangers TV have still to officially announce it yet, but I would imagine it would be?
