Jake Hastie has been hailed by Rotherham boss Paul Warne after a bright start to life at the League One club. The Rangers winger - on a season-long loan with the Millers - enjoyed a goal-scoring debut in a defeat at Doncaster on Saturday. Warne said: "I thought Jake was really good and some of the balls he put into were unbelievable - that's why we brought him in. "As a manager I like playing with wingers and we had to wait for the ones we really wanted. “But Hastie down the right and Chiedozie Ogbene down the left would be the dream package for me. "Unfortunately Chieo is out for a while, but Jake was really enthusiastic with his play and he'll go down the outside to get crosses in. “From deep positions he drives inside too and he was a thorn in the opposition's side all afternoon." The Gers starlet - who joined this summer from Motherwell - made two appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side before heading out on loan. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4715186/jake-hastie-rangers-rotherham-paul-warne/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568372110

Novo calls on Celtic to ban ‘wee p****’ for vile Ricksen insult

EX-RANGERS star Nacho Novo has called on Celtic to hand a life ban to a vile troll who said he couldn’t wait for Fernando Ricksen to die. Light Blues idol Novo took to social media to slam the yob who mocked his close friend Fernando, who suffers from motor neurone disease. The Spaniard said: “I’m absolutely disgusted that wee p**** can speak about someone who can’t defend himself. “I hope the media put this comment in the papers because when a comment was said to Scott Brown about his sister it was front page news so I hope Celtic do the same with that wee b****** and ban him for life. “We don’t want any favours from anybody but we just want justice ??????.” The troll’s message was so vile The Scottish Sun decided not to reproduce it in full. It included the line: “Fernando Ricksen’s a goner soon canny f***ing wait...hurry up and die ya b***ard.” SunSport has asked Celtic for comment. Last year former Gers star Fernando slammed online trolls for inflicting pain on his wife with jokes about him dying. The Scottish Sun last week launched our Respect Our Players campaign in response to the long list of horrendous attacks on footballers who have been attacked on the pitch, on the street and online. The 2018/19 season was scarred by incidents of sectarian and racist abuse, missiles thrown at players, taunts over mental health issues and fans going on the pitch to target footballers. This month a 15-year-old boy was charged by cops and banned from Ibrox over a sickening jibe aimed at Celtic star Scott Brown about his sister Fiona’s death in 2008. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4716039/fernando-ricksen-nacho-novo-rangers-celtic-vile-insult-troll/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568378379

By Christopher Jack @Chris_Jack89 Group Senior Sports Writer STEVEN GERRARD has accused Scotland of being ‘careless’ with Ryan Jack after he was left furious at the knee injury the midfielder sustained whilst on international duty last week. The 27-year-old was named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the European Championship ties with Russia and Belgium but returned to Rangers for treatment in the aftermath of the first defeat at Hampden that saw Scotland’s chances of qualification ended prematurely once again. Clarke had claimed before the 4-0 loss to Belgium that Rangers had decided to go ‘safety first’ after swelling flared up on Jack’s knee in training. But Rangers are deeply upset and frustrated with how Jack was handled after being put through a tough training session in the aftermath of the Old Firm defeat to Celtic. Jack is now a major fitness concern for the Light Blues’ Premiership clash with Livingston on Saturday as Gerrard faces being left without one of his most impressive and consistent performers. Gerrard said: “He's a doubt for Saturday. Unfortunately he was asked to do an 11k session two days after an Old Firm, which made his knee flare up. “So we have had to manage him, he has had to have a couple of procedures since. “He did a light session with the physio today (Thursday) and we are hoping to get him into training tomorrow (Friday). “I think it's just careless. You should never, ever do 11k two days after playing 90 minutes. That's the education I've had. “Ryan's got a knee issue that he manages and he has done for a long time. “The SFA are aware of that, their fitness coach is aware of that. I think everyone in Scotland watched the Old Firm and saw Ryan play 90 minutes. And then 48 hours afterwards, he did a double session.” The fine form that Jack has shown in the opening weeks of the campaign was rewarded by Clarke as he handed him a recall to the international fold this month. Boss Gerrard has often spoken of his pride at his players receiving such honours and there was a boost for Jack’s fellow midfielder Joe Aribo in recent days as he capped his debut for Nigeria with a goal in the friendly defeat to Ukraine. But England legend Gerrard was clearly upset with the deterioration in Jack’s condition after he reported for national service and took his place in Clarke’s squad. Gerrard said: “I’ve not spoken to Steve. I don’t know what the session was, only that there was 11k involved in a double session. “I am very proud when my players get international call-ups, as I touched on with Joe. When Joe scores on his debut for Nigeria I am sitting at home, smiling, trying to find the highlights of the goal. I was delighted. “When my players are called up I am proud because you feel part of it as their coach. I watched Scotland against Belgium and I wanted Scotland to win because you see all the players you are competing against. “I am part of Scottish football know and I want to help in any way I can. But when I get the email through to say that Ryan Jack has dropped out because his knee has flared up because he has had two training sessions on the second day of recovery, I couldn’t believe it. It was total shock. “I haven’t spoken to Ryan about it. I am too annoyed to speak to him about it. It is what it is and we have to move on.” The injury to Jack is not the first time that Gerrard has been left unhappy with the treatment of one of his players whilst they were away with their country. The 39-year-old was upset with the Croatian FA following the injury that Borna Barisic picked up during the international break in March. Rangers had several important players on national duty in recent days as the likes of Barisic, Aribo and Steven Davis played in friendly matches or European qualifiers. And Gerrard believes there is a duty of care that Associations must show towards clubs when they take their most prized assets during the top flight shutdown. He said: “Yes [you want to coach as many sessions as you can], but at the same time the respect has got to go two ways. We give the players over to use and there are different ways. I totally understand. “I have never been an international coach and you want to get as many sessions in as you can but I don’t think it is the right care for a player who has just played 90 minutes in an Old Firm game and who is drained physically and mentally. “It is not just that game. Any game of football you do not do a double session two days after a game. Not just with Ryan Jack. I would never do that. “We pass them over and it is their responsibility. We are not involved in what they do but we do ask for due care. I don’t think that is too much to ask for.” https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17899334.rangers-boss-steven-gerrard-critical-39-careless-39-scotland-ryan-jack-knee-injury/?ref=twtrec

….and delight at Rangers deal after clinching Ibrox return By Christopher Jack @Chris_Jack89 Group Senior Sports Writer RYAN KENT sat in the departure lounge preparing for a move that would change his life and his career forever as he closed in on a deal with Club Brugge. His heart was set on Rangers, though. A fresh start in Belgium awaited, as did mouthwatering Champions League games with Real Madrid, PSG and Galatasaray. But the call that Kent had waited months for, that he feared may never come, eventually arrived. He was on his way to Ibrox, on his way home. Within hours, Kent was back in Glasgow and a £7million return to Rangers had been secured. “I was pretty close to getting on the flight,” Kent said of a deadline day that ended with a dream move as he was reunited with Steven Gerrard once again. “I was already checked in and sitting in the departure lounge at Manchester airport. That’s when I get a call from my agent and the gaffer saying ‘don’t go on the flight.’ “I was getting ready to fly out and sign for Club Brugge. “They are in the Champions League and that was one of the main reasons I was heading there. “It would have been a big platform for me to showcase myself against the best European clubs. But, my heart was set on coming back here. “I think I can achieve everything I want here and take myself to where I want to go.” In the last days of the transfer window, Kent knew he had to get out of Liverpool. He got his wish. His future had become the saga of the summer at Ibrox but it wasn’t until those final hours that Kent and Gerrard got the move they had coveted for so long. “I had a big smile on my face,” Kent said. “It was probably the first time I had smiled in quite a while. “I was just delighted. That was the call I had been waiting for the whole transfer window and for it to finally come around was a no brainer for me. I had to get in the car and get up here. “It would have been hard [going to Brugge]. But I knew that as much as I wanted to be here I do have to look after myself as well. Brugge did offer a good platform for me to go and play against some of the best teams and best opposition in the world on a big stage, so there was an element of excitement about going there. “But there was also a side of me disappointed that Rangers might not have come around to come back here again.” When Kent put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal, it brought an end to months of debate and speculation about his future. Gerrard had been asked almost on a weekly basis about the Englishman, while supporters had become increasingly anxious about a switch that was on, off and then back on again. A pre-season trip to America with Jurgen Klopp’s side didn’t change Kent’s mind and the final weeks of his Anfield career were difficult on a personal and professional level. Kent said: “It’s never hard to stay motivated. I had to start training on my own and I made sure that I was keeping my fitness levels up. “I don’t work have to work hard for other people to see. I work hard for myself and make sure I get the best out of myself. “It was quite hard [mentally] because it felt like the longest pre-season of my life. “I was running every day and mentally it did get quite tough at times. Not just for me, but for everybody around me as well. Everybody who wanted to see me back up here. “I knew I had stay focussed and make sure this moment would come. “I probably wouldn’t have come back here if I wasn’t comfortable with [the expectations]. I know what I have to go and deliver just as every other player has to go and deliver it. There are eleven people on the pitch and I am just one of them so if I can do my part then that’s all I can do.” It took until midnight on deadline day for Rangers to finally announce Kent. For the player, his manager and his supporters, the wait was worth it. Kent said: “I was aware of it although I tried not to read into it too much. There were times when it was getting quite frustrating because everyone wanted to see me back here. “I wanted to come back here myself but I was being restricted from that happening. The support I received from everybody was overwhelming. “The players kept asking me when I was coming back although there wasn’t much I could tell them. “I didn’t know myself until the last day of the window. I asked Liverpool if I could come to Rangers because I felt I got so much out of myself last season. “I felt there was still more time and this was the right place for it to happen. I worked hard at the start of pre-season and we had agreed I could come back here.” https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17899185.ryan-kent-reveals-airport-u-turn-delight-rangers-deal-clinching-ibrox-return/?ref=twtrec

I believe the Scottish government are due to their desire to break up the UK knowing the unionist support from Rangers fans, they have set out to ban OO parades and rely on the Rangers haters votes, and they control plod. Do you believe the SFA, SPL & Scottish football conspired against Rangers when we were booted down the divisions?.

Schoolboy who ‘threw lighter at Rangers’ James Tavernier during Motherwell match’ cleared after case collapse A SCHOOLBOY who allegedly lobbed a lighter at Rangers' James Tavernier has been cleared - after the case against him collapsed. The Light Blues skipper was targeted during the first half of the Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell at Fir Park in April. He was taking a throw-in by the East stand as objects rained down on him. The Gers skipper could be seen handing what appeared to be a lighter to referee Nick Walsh before it was given to a nearby cop. Police launched an investigation after the incident - which was captured on TV. Now the 16-year-old who had been identified and charged has walked free from court. He had denied throwing the item at the Ibrox skipper and appeared in court in his school uniform. But the case collapsed after two police officers said they had only taken statements in the case and had not viewed CCTV footage of the alleged incident. After hearing evidence for less than 10 minutes, depute fiscal Claire Connachan said: "The Crown are no longer seeking a conviction on this matter." Sheriff Vincent Smith told the teenager, who sat in the dock wearing his school uniform, the case was over. He added: "As you've heard, the Crown have decided not to proceed any further in this matter so you are acquitted and are now free to go." We told you earlier how Scott Brown says the vile abuse he suffered outside Ibrox wasn't a one-off - he's been hearing it for the last 12 years. A Light Blues supporter asked the Hoops skipper "how's your sister" in a reference to his sibling Fiona, who passed away in 2008 from skin cancer. Footage of the incident emerged on social media, leading to pundits, players and fans of all clubs hitting out at the abuse. The Gers supporter who made the vile remark - a 15-year-old boy - has since been charged by police and banned from Ibrox for life. Speaking today, Brown thanked both Rangers and Celtic fans for their support but admitted he's too used to hearing these kinds of slurs. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/4712086/rangers-james-tavernier-lighter-motherwell-match-cleared/

Thank feck the International break is finished, does anybody watch any of them??. Back to the real business on Saturday, also Armed Forces Day at Ibrox, which I always enjoy, fantastic by the club to show support to the brave servicemen/women and proud that the club does this. I think it will be a slow stuffy start to the match, but we should have too much for Livi, Kent to start is a must.
