Excellent performance and result today, we looked at it from the start. Loved how Hagi kept working very hard despite not have a great game, good to see Paterson getting game time and he does look the part. Jack was brilliant when he came on, looking good for us now as we seem to be getting back to our early season form.

Dundee United owner Mark Ogren has asked fans to stump up another £100,000 to help ease their cash crisis. The American businessman has requested the Dundee United Supporters’ Foundation release a second tranche of money to fund the business. The DUSF members voted to hand over a six-figure sum back in June – and now they’ve been asked to pay another amount now. Ogren has admitted his finances are limited and asked boss Micky Mellon and his players to take wage cuts late last year. They finally agreed to that earlier this month but the club is still leaking cash, so want the supporters to invest. The fans’ group will now hold a vote on whether to hand over more funds – and also stretch a deadline for their last investment to be put into a youth academy project by 12 months. Ogren spoke to the DUSF in December and laid bare the dire financial situation at Tannadice. In an email to their members, they said: “Mark Ogren addressed the meeting and outlined the serious financial impact that the pandemic was continuing to have on the club’s budget as a result of the huge reduction in income following lockdown and fans not being allowed into games. “This, coupled with the high cost of implementing the Covid-19 protocols necessary to allow football matches to go ahead under closed doors, is threatening the current operation and structure which has been put in place to take the club forward. “Mr Ogren said that United were in a unique situation in that he had invested a lot more money than he expected to win promotion and he did not have a contingency fund to draw on for the unforeseen Covid-19 crisis and the drastic reduction in income that this has caused. “In light of the current situation Mr Ogren asked the DUSF members to consider… “1 – A twelve month extension to the timescale detailed in the June 2020 partnership agreement with DUSF for work to start on the funded youth academy project. “2 – A request for the transfer of another tranche of Foundation money as a one-off payment to assist recovery from the Covid-19 crisis not tied to a future capital project. “Following discussions with members at the AGM, the [DUSF] steering group decided we should ballot members on those requests. “Therefore, during the last few weeks we have been drafting a funding proposal to transfer up to £100,000 to the club to assist during the current crisis and we have now agreed a formal proposal that the DUSF steering group are now inviting members to vote on. “We have always considered that the Foundation money should be used to build something that was sustainable and that would become an integral part of the club’s future. “That still remains one of our main aims. “However, we appreciate the unprecedented financial climate the club is now operating in and we understand why the club is asking for the foundation to offer financial assistance now to help the club through this uniquely difficult period. “We also recognise the reasons why capital expenditure projects have been suspended currently which is why the club is asking for an extension to the original agreement. “Therefore we are opening up a ballot of members to allow members to vote on the funding proposal.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/6548107/transfer-news-live-rangers-celtic-hibs-aberdeen-hearts-deals/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1611398235

Finance Guru: Rangers in line to become richest Scot club amid Desmond reveal – Exclusive By Adam Williams speaking to Kieran Maguire - 21st January 2021 at 4:00pm Dermot Desmond and Celtic shareholders have given Rangers a helping hand to soon become Scotland’s richest club. So says finance wiz and new Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking after a week of PR gaffes from the Hoops hierarchy. A widely criticised trip to Dubai and subsequent press conference meltdown from manager Neil Lennon came amid Rangers extending their yawning lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Celtic’s nine-year spell of dominance is collapsing, and so too is their financial advantage over Rangers. Maguire believes that the Parkhead moneymen’s decision not to invest in the club during their footballing supremacy may have opened the window of opportunity just wide enough for Rangers to slip through. He told Football Insider: “If the owner had put a little bit of money into the club, and he hasn’t put any money into the club for a long time now, Celtic could potentially have stretched the financial gap over their rivals to make it very, very difficult for Rangers to come back. “They didn’t do that and now Gerrard’s side are clearly competitive and going to win the Scottish Premiership this year. “I was on a radio show in 2018 and I said that Rangers just need one big season to eliminate the financial gap between themselves and Celtic. “If Rangers win the Premiership and qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, that would not only be eliminated but I think Rangers could potentially overtake Celtic in terms of their ability to generate revenue. “Although Europe is absolutely essential to that.” Celtic’s revenue fell by 15.8% to £70.2million over the last financial year — a pre-tax profit of £100,000. Rangers, by contrast, enjoyed an 11% upturn in revenue to £59m, although they posted a £15.9m loss. The Light Blues are accelerating away from Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership, with the gap between the clubs now at 20 points. In Europe, they have far outstripped their Glasgow rivals too, advancing to the first knockout round after Celtic finished bottom of their group.

RANGERS target Fashion Sakala has dropped a cryptic transfer clue on social media amid speculation linking the forward with a move to Ibrox. The 23-year-old striker, currently on the books at Belgian outfit Oostende, will be a free agent in the summer and has just six months left on his deal - meaning he can now speak to other clubs to negotiate his next move. Steven Gerrard's side have been credited with an interest in the Zambia internationalist, with the Premiership league leaders reportedly chasing a pre-contract move for the forward. Sakala is currently believed to be weighing up his options with a host of clubs chasing his signature - with the in-demand striker dropping a subtle clue on Instagram. Under a post, one user left a comment imploring Sakala to "come to Rangers" - with the Ibrox target 'liking' the comment. However, if Gerrard wants to get the deal done, he will have to give Sakala assuarances over his playing time - with the striker previously insisting that he will not move clubs just to sit on the bench. He said: "Yes, there is interest from other teams. At the same time, talks are ongoing with KV Oostende about a new contract and we will see where we end up. "I play in one of the best leagues in the world. If I were to leave, both the club and I would benefit from it. But I am still very happy here. "For me, signing a new contract would be no problem at all. I feel good here and have played almost every week in recent seasons. "If I decided to go to a new club, it would need to be somewhere I got to play every week and was content. But honestly, I am in no hurry to leave because I am happy here." https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19028423.rangers-target-fashion-sakala-teases-ibrox-move-social-media/ -
