Yes, it's the correct and sporting thing to do. Our keeper should have punted the ball out around the half way line though!. I remember playing away at Linlithgow and a similar incident happened, I threw the ball back to their keeper and our striker was onto it in a flash, volleyed it smashing it off the bar!!!!, there was nearly a riot ?.
