  1. Throw in Barca, stickons IMO
  2. Agreed, let's not forget we are doing a lot better than we were before WS came back and IMO we have the makings of a good side, remember they're still a new team
  3. I still think were unlucky to a certain extent as we created a number of chances and Motherwell played decent,Stephen Hughes saving header for one.
  4. Walter Smith admits Jean-Claude Darcheville has a chance of playing in Rangers' UEFA Champions League tie with Lyon. Darcheville was initially ruled out of Tuesday's game by Smith after suffering a hamstring injury against Motherwell on Saturday. The Rangers boss expected the striker to be sidelined for two weeks with the problem, but the Frenchman joined in training on Sunday. He is due to travel to Lyon with the rest of the squad and Smith has been 'amazed' by Darcheville's recovery. Still a doubt "Jean-Claude amazed us all and he'll be with us when we go to Lyon," Smith told the Daily Record. "After the game on Saturday I didn't think he had any chance of recovering in time, but now it looks as though there is the possibility he could take part against Lyon. "He is still a doubt, but he has a chance now where before yesterday morning there was no hope. "He says he's had a similar injury before and recovered well, and it looks as though it's happening again. "But we won't know for certain until closer to the match. He might still miss the game, but at least there is the chance of him making it." Should we gamble on a player, in a game where we will be lucky to get a draw, who may then miss important Domestic games ?
  5. UEFA chief William Galliard last night praised Rangers' fight against sectarianism but warned their supporters not to ruin the good work in Lyon. Around 4,000 Ibrox fans are expected to make the trip to the South of France for the Champions League crunch tomorrow night. The situation at Rangers has been monitored in the past year and Galliard has been delighted with the club's efforts to silence the unwelcome minority who had attracted UEFA's attention. But Galliard warned there was no room for smugness ahead of the game in the Stade Gerland. He said: "We know the efforts being made by Rangers in fighting sectarianism. "I am confident the Rangers fans can keep the spirit in Lyon in the right way and the way they have been doing recently.
  6. Current form suggests Milan would be dodgy !!!
  7. My take on the goal was,it was a good run, a good pass but IMO he was offside, not making excuses with that statement but it was offside, however everybody likes to say ah give the attacking player the benefit of the doubt, well JCD got pulled up for offside in an identical move, albeit he missed anyway, but to be fair I thought we could've / should've won the game, although Motherwell played good I thought we were unlucky, and Boyd was our best player IMO,grafted all day

  9. Well, IMO it could be very well that it is some sort of mind games, however if it was mind games he would have pumped the whole team up !!!!,but maybe, just maybe he actually does think BF is a great captain and Rangers man, which I happen to think he is,he has only talked about BF so if he thinks that's all he's to worry about then more the fool him which I very much doubt. Guys like BF and KB,even AH get much more criticism than..........let's say a foreign player.......why ?........I don't know but give me guys that know what playing for Rangers is all about every day of the week. It's time some Rangers fans got behind the Scottish players more, for instance how many posts have I seen on here saying how good Sebo,Cousin and Darcheville are, which I don't disagree with to a certain extent, but it always seems to me that the Scottish players get more grief than the foreign players, and IMO that is so wrong. It's no surprise to me that the national team is doing so well,as there are more young Scottish players playing more first team foootball and Rangers, probably more than any other team, are doing thier bit thanks to WS playing and believing in the Scottish players
  10. Fifty-One A Winner Exclusive Picture Special On The Goals That Put Ibrox Net-Buster In The History Books Boydy's Up There With Me And Ally Says Gers Scoring Legend Forrest By David Mccarthy JIM FORREST isn't the sort to shout about his achievements from the tree tops. But the only man to have scored 50 goals for Rangers in a quicker time than Kris Boyd is more than happy to talk about the latest Ibrox scoring sensation. And he believes the current No.9 will keep on banging them in because finding the net comes as naturally to him as breathing. Forrest, now 63 and still living in Glasgow following the fortunes of Rangers, took only 47 games to hit the first 50 goals of his Ibrox career after replacing another legend, Jimmy Millar, as centre forward. Boyd took just 60 starts to mark his half century but the current Scotland striker's goals-per-match ratio still looks pedestrian compared to the havoc wreaked by Forrest between 1962 and 1964. Sandy Jardine, at Hampden yesterday representing Rangers at the CIS Cup draw, described Forrest as 'lightning quick with a lethal right foot'. The man himself is much too modest to say if that description is accurate. But actions speak louder than words and Forrest's record screams quality in front of goal - even if he was to go on to be treated incredibly shabbily by the club he loved. Advertisement He grabbed 145 goals in 167 appearances. He got 57 of them in the one season, 1964-65 - aclub record even Boyd will struggle to beat. But Forrest was bombed by the club shortly after failing to score in the calamitous Scottish Cup defeat by Berwick Rangers in 1967. Incredibly, the attacker was only 22 when he was shown the door at Ibrox - a fact that makes his scoring record even more jaw-dropping. He went on to play for Preston before returning to Scotland for a five-year stint at Aberdeen, where he won the Scottish Cup in 1970. But despite his treatment at Ibrox, Forrest's heart remains there and that's why it is gladdened to see Boyd following in his footsteps. He told Record Sport:"I'm delighted to see him scoring so many goals, just as I was happy when Ally McCoist was doing it every week. They're very similar, in that they instinctively know where the goals are. I suppose I was the same. You just know where to go and where to be when the ball arrives. It is something that can't be taught or coached into you." Forrest didn't have a clue until this week that he held the record for Rangers' 'fastest 50'. He said: "It came as a pleasant surprise. I was never one for bothering too much about records but with Boyd getting close to the 50 mark it was in the papers and I read with interest. "It was no surprise to me that he got to 50 against East Fife because he is just a player who is going to score goals all his career and he would always get chances in that match. "I haven't had the chance to see a lot of him in the flesh but obviously I've seen him on television and from what I can see, he just knows how to be in the right place at the right time." Forrest scoffs at the work-shy accusations that have dogged Boyd throughout his career, claiming much of his toil is done un-noticed. He said: "Do you think he just gets into scoring positions by magic? Sometimes work-rate isn't about charging around at 100mph looking busy. He has to work at finding a yard of space in the hardest place on the pitch - the penalty box. "No, Boyd is a worker all right. It's just that people don't really notice it." It is put to Forrest that at 24, Boyd is still just a boy who can go on to break all kinds of records with the club between now and the end of his career. The former Ranger doesn't disagree - although he baulks at the description of Boyd as a boy. He said: "Boys don't play for Rangers. You become a man the minute that blue jersey is pulled over your head. "You have to be a man to live with the pressure of being a Rangers player. I know I was - and I left the club when I was just 22 years old. "I hope Boyd goes on to break every scoring record because that will help Rangers do well. Ican't help it - it's my upbringing. I'll always be a Rangers fan and I want everyone who plays for the club to do well." WHERE THE GOALS WERE SCORED... 1. Peterhead (h) 7-1-06 2. Peterhead (h) 7-1-06 3. Peterhead (h) 7-1-06 4. 11. Lyon Coach: I Wish My Stars Were like Ferguson LYON manager Alain Perrin last night branded Ibrox skipper Barry Ferguson "a captain to kill for" and revealed he wished he had players like him in his squad. Rangers' Champions League rivals have had a stuttering start to their season and their boss is under fire from the French press following their opening Euro defeat to Barcelona. In-fighting in the Lyon camp - with Sydney Govou clashing with Juninho over the stand-in captaincy in the absence of injured Gregory Coupet - has not helped Perrin. Now he wants his more experienced stars to take a leaf out of Fergie's book. He said: "Barry Ferguson is simply a fabulous leader, the kind any team would kill to have. His influence is everywhere. "There has been an issue of leadership in my team since the injury to Gregory. But it's not about the captaincy, it's about players taking full collective responsibility. "We don't have someone like Ferguson who has that attitude running through his veins."
  12. Agreed, however if he had all the attributes that people are complaining about,he wouldn't be at Ibrox
  13. Not to worry mate,we're building up a momentum,we'll win by a couple of goals against Motherwell....................
  14. Aye,the boy's a goal machine and there have been many discussions on here about him,not a favourite with a lot of fans, but for me he just luvs to score goals and IMO we should be building a team around him.Now i'm going to get slaughtered for that comment !!!!!!!!!!
  15. Aye,good result for the steelmen,we'll need to be up for it this weekend, mind you we're gonna have to be up for it every weekend if we want to win the SPL
  16. Very impressed by Dundee, especially the young guy Macdonald in CM,unlucky Dundee, showed how vulnerable the unwashed are
  17. I had a £20 treble on last night - Liverpool,Portsmouth and Werder Bremen....................Wereder drew 1-1 and fooked me for £150 !!!!!
  18. Read the long banner it says Celtc instead of CeltIc
  19. I could agree with that if it was a proven fact, however i feel Hemdani has proved he can play in the SPL no problem,so for me that argument goes out the window
  20. Allan McGregor has committed himself to Rangers after signing a new three-year contract at Ibrox. The 25-year-old goalkeeper had looked to be on his way out last season, but was eventually given a chance under then manager Paul Le Guen when Frenchman Lionel Letizi was injured. He has retained his place between the posts under Walter Smith's tenure and is delighted to sign with the Glasgow giants. "I'm here for another three years now and I'm delighted about that," McGregor said. "I wanted to leave last year because I didn't think I was going to play. "The only reason I did get in the team was because of Lionel Letizi's injury. "It can take someone else's misfortune to give you that chance, so I'm glad it happened and that I stayed at the club in the end." Glad for him,and Gers,he certalnly deserves it

    bugger

    Agreed
  22. Agree with this Gribz, especially Hemdani, however if the team keep playing well and getting results WS can hardly play everybody, I just hope the players accept the situation and want to be part of a winning squad ?
  23. The next time someone says to me Barry Ferguson is overated they´re getting a headbut,he was different class and Hutton was excellent
  24. Agreed, leaving BF out is fair enough, not that I would´ve,however if you leave him out why the fuck was Hemdani not playing ?,a poor performance overall, just hope it is a blip as it was throw back to last season
  25. Agreed mate,I just don't worry as much now
