  1. I see Milan got thumped 5-0 by Chelsea,Milan must be as bad as Rangers
  2. by Lindsay Herron KENNY MILLER hopes that his efforts on the field will win over those supporters who have been unsupportive about his return to Rangers. The 28-year-old striker had always insisted that his performances would stand up to scrutiny and when he was applauded off the field against Kaunas on Wednesday he felt it was a big moment. Kenny MillerHe has utterly no regrets about returning to Rangers, although he just wishes that a better result had been achieved against the Lithuanians. He said: "It's been brilliant. I was pleased with the reception I got the other night. There was a bit of booing but overall it was good and I'm over the moon to be here. "We are into the competitive games now and it's time to go to work. "I have always said that once the games start and the fans see the effort I put in then I will win them over and I think Wednesday was a big step in that regard. "The result could have been better, but I felt my performance was OK. I gave everything and I hope the fans appreciate that. "I felt I really wanted to come back here and play my football here and have the best years of my career. "I am here to win medals. It's the same squad that came so close on four fronts last season and with the new additions who have come in we are stronger. "There is the same hunger in the squad. The European run last year has only inspired the lads to do the same, hopefully this year in the Champions League. "We realise we have some work to do but we can complete the job."
  3. Exclusive by Andrew Dickson ERIK BO ANDERSEN believes the way has been paved for Rangers to take a place in the Champions League - but has warned them not to underestimate Aalborg. Bruce Rioch, manager of Aalborg BKThe striker played for the Danish side before leaving them for Ibrox in a £1.5million transfer in February 1996. Although the 37-year-old is now working in politics rather than football, he has continued to monitor the progress AaB have made in recent times. The Jutland club, which appointed Bruce Rioch as its new manager in the summer, won the league by nine points from FC Midtjylland last season. Despite that win, Andersen thinks Walter Smith's Gers will have too much for them if they get past Kaunas and into the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Of course, Bosnian outfit Modrica could yet beat AaB to the final preliminary stage if they can overturn the 5-0 defeat they suffered in midweek this Wednesday. But it is almost certain the Superligaen outfit will progress, giving Rangers a potential chance to take on a team from Denmark competitively for the fourth time. Although Andersen is sure the Scots would then advance to the group stage, he has stressed it won't be easy for them to get so far.Thomas Augustinussen of Aalborg BK Aalborg beat Sampdoria on away goals last season to reach the group phase of the UEFA Cup then drew with Anderlecht and only lost by a single goal to Spurs and Getafe. Andersen said: "This is a good draw for Rangers. They will be the favourites if the teams meet, there is no doubt about that. "If the teams played each other 10 times, there is no way Aalborg would win at least five of those matches. "At the same time, it would be stupid to think this will be a walkover for Rangers because Aalborg have a good side. "Collectively, they are a team that works hard with no real superstars in it and that is their big quality. "On their day, they can compete with a lot of big sides. They were unlucky to lose at Tottenham last season and with a bit of luck, could have had a better result there. "Aalborg also went through on away goals against Sampdoria after drawing 2-2 with them in Italy to get to the group stage. "If they are on form, they are a hard team to beat. I would still expect Rangers to see off Aalborg but they will have to work hard if they are to win overall." Jeppe Curth of Aalborg BKAndersen has picked out forward Jeppe Curth as the man Gers need to be wary of if they find themselves pitched against the Danes. The 24-year-old was the leading scorer in his country's league last season and he is someone Smith will want his men to snuff out. Andersen added: "Curth is a good striker. He is not the tallest but he is a dangerous player. I think he scored 15 or 16 times last season and has shown a lot of potential. "He went abroad to play for Feyenoord when he was quite young but is back in Denmark now and is making good progress. "In midfield, Thomas Augustinussen is one of Aalborg's best players too. He is very tall and creates a lot of things. He holds the team together very well."
  4. Walter has said umpteen times that he is trying to sign a couple of midfielders, maybe he is just timing it correct and waiting to offload some of the players that have not done the business for us first ?,maybe he thinks he can get his targets cheaper by waiting ?
  5. I tend to agree with Calscots' sentiments here,I get fed up reading negative press regarding Rangers and come on here for some refreshing topics, but lately all I seem to read is the same negativity that i'm trying to avoid.Let's wait and see what happens regarding transfers and performances before having a go at WS/Rangers,the season hasn't even started yet !!
  6. No problems for me....................already got mine
  7. I have already said that some fans are too quick to slate Walters' transfer dealings..............KEEP THE FAITH
  8. You know I try my best
  9. You should find that easy...............you're always on here with bullshit stories
  10. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/f...6908-20679510/ FURIOUS organisers of Feyenoord's Jubilee Tournament last night blasted Celtic after they snubbed a press conference they were contractually obliged to attend. Boss Gordon Strachan and one of his players were supposed to attend the media briefing at Feyenoord's De Kuip Stadium yesterday evening. They should have been there along with representatives from the other clubs taking part in matches over the next three days, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and the hosts. But Celtic stunned tournament promoters International Event Partnership by informing them at the last moment that no one would be coming. In what was perceived as a dreadful PR blunder, one IEP official described Celtic's actions as "appalling" because they knew weeks in advance what was required. Embarrassed workers at the event had to remove hastily Celtic's place from the top table before the television cameras were put up and before the MC introducing those in attendance, including Rotterdam's mayor, had a pop at the absentees. He told the assembled media pack: "We are disappointed to tell you that Celtic chose not to attend. "I'm sure Mr Strachan will invite you all around to his beach hotel later on for drinks." In the hours leading up to the conference IEP tried several times to persuade Celtic to send someone from their base on the outskirts of the Dutch city but to no avail. IEP spokesman Michael Galjaardt said: "We are very disappointed Celtic did not appear at the conference. "It was their decision not to come. As yet, we haven't had a clear indication from them as to why they chose not to attend. "They had an obligation under the contract of the tournament to attend the press conference." Galjaardt could not say whether Celtic would lose any money for their actions. All three managers of the other clubs were in attendance, Juande Ramos of Spurs, Dortmund's Jurgen Klopp and Feyenoord's Gertjan Verbeek. They brought along players Jermaine Jenas, Nuri Sahin and Jon Dahl Tomasson who all agreed to one-to-one interviews after the conference with the many members of the media from all over Europe. Later a spokesman for Celtic said: "The press conference coincided with our training." The Parkhead club face Tottenham tonight and then Feyenoord, who celebrated their 100th anniversary this year, on Sunday evening. The Dutch giants specifically asked for Celtic, the club they defeated in the European Cup Final of 1970. Meanwhile, West Brom star Paul Robinson could be the man to solve Celtic's left-back problem. The 29-year-old Englishman is high on Strachan's wanted list as he looks to strengthen his back four. Lee Naylor has been first choice for the past two seasons, but his form has dropped and Mark Wilson has been used in pre-season.
  11. No problem mate...................BRING IN HASTIE
  12. Only if you & Frankie run it for me
  13. I agree that SDM is not going to take us forward due to him being fed up / bored with Rangers, but who wants to take over ?
  14. Rangers set to sign Cardiff defender Glenn Loovens 1/08/2008 Rangers boss Walter Smith is set to sign Cardiff City's powerful centre-half Glenn Loovens - but he will have to swap either Kris Boyd or Daniel Cousin to get his man. Smith has stepped up his interest in Dutch defender Loovens, 24 and wants to close a £2million deal ahead of the SPL season. But Bluebirds chief Dave Jones is more interested in an exchange for Scotland striker Boyd - and would take Cousin too.
  15. Maybe everybody is being a bit too quick to criticise our signings,or lack of signings. There is still one whole month to go before this window closes,I for one refuse to believe Walter is finished with bringing in a couple of more players and think he will.
  16. RANGERS go into tomorrow's draw for the 3rd qualifying roud for the Champions League knowing they could land massively difficult opponents if they are able to overcome Kaunas. Of course, with the 2nd round only at the halfway stage there could be an either/or scenario for Rangers but there are some real heavweights in the non-seeded section. Rangers could get Altetico Madrid, Galatasaray, Sparta Prague, Slavia Prague or Dinamo Kiev, for example, and any of these would be extremely tough. The draw ceremony takes place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon at 12.30pm tomorrow SEEDS Liverpool ENG), Barcelona (ESP), Arsenal FC (ENG), FC Schalke 04 (GER), Juventus (ITA), Rangers FC (SCO) / FBK Kaunas (LTU), Marseille (FRA), Steaua Bucharest (ROU), Panathinaikos FC (GRE) / FC Dinamo Tbilisi (GEO), IFK Gothenburg (SWE) / FC Basel 1893 (SUI), Olympiacos CFP (GRE), Fenerbahce SK (TUR) / MTK Budapest (HUN), RSC Anderlecht (BEL) / FC BATE Borisov (BLR), ACF Fiorentina (ITA), FC Spartak Moscow (RUS) NON SEEDS Atl©tico Madrid (ESP), FC Sheriff (MDA) / Sparta Prague (CZE), Drogheda United FC (IRL) / FC Dynamo Kiev (UKR), Levski Sofia (BUL), Slavia Prague(CZE), Galatasaray (TUR), Inter Baku (AZE) / FK Partizan (SRB), Vit³ria SC (POR), NK Domzale (SVN) / Dinamo Zagreb (CRO), Beitar Jerusalem FC (ISR) / Wisla Krak³w (POL), Standard Li¨ge (BEL), FC Twente (NED), Tampere United (FIN) / FC Artmedia Petrzalka (SVK), Aalborg (DEN) / FK Modrica (BIH), SK Brann (NOR) / FK Ventspils (LVA), Anorthosis Famagusta FC (CYP) / SK Rapid Wien (AUT)

    TV Ban

Still better than nowt,I would have thought SDM would grasp any chance of making a few bob !!

    TV Ban

I wonder if it paid of for Rangers to not show the game live on TV ?,apart from saving those who couldn't go to the game, the pain of watching the game !!!!!.How much money would we have made if it was shown on TV ?
  19. Look mate,if that's the way you want to go,then carry on,I disagree,simple
  20. Looks to be a decent CB,from the little i've seen of him, hope we sign him then a couple of midfield players
  21. Never said it was stupid to voice your opinions,I said it was stupid to boo Rangers players,IMO
  22. 51 titles proves we are the best team in Scotland
  23. I happen to think Rangers FC are '' simply the best ''
  24. One thing is for sure, the pressure is on WS,not KM,regarding this signing, but he his here now and booing him is just not going to help KM,WS or Rangers FC,so IMO it's not only stupid to boo KM,or any Rangers player, but pointless
