  1. Very true mate , but I can't see him staying
  2. Too many Rangers fans have too much hate for him for the club to even consider keeping him on
  3. Aye,it's amazing how the MOPES want Lafferty BANNED from football for life, never kick a ball again, yet the wee chunt Lennons....................'' well it was a head butt '', my arse, at least Lafferty has the balls to own up to his mistake, he is only 21 and will have learned a harsh lesson
  4. The way this season has went, it wouldn't surprise me if both us and the MOPES got beat
  5. Ally's Appeal Hope by Lindsay Herron ALLY McCOIST has high hopes that the SFA will rescind the red card issued to Madjid Bougherra last weekend having studied footage of the incident at great length. The Rangers assistant manager is firmly of the opinion that Bougherra's challenge on Abrdeen keeper Jamie Langfield was a complete accident. He told Rangers World: "We must be hopeful that the red card will be rescinded. I have been looking at the incident. We have looked at it in great detail and there is no way, in our opinion, it is a sending off. "Madjid clearly goes for the ball. We have looked at it from about seven different angles and he definitely goes for the ball. "Put it this way, with my assistant manager's head on, I would have been very disappointed if he had not gone for the ball. "The keeper makes a great save and he is very brave. Both players are very committed and we definitely feel it's a very harsh sending off." McCoist was involved in a much more serious incident of a similar nature when his momentum took him into Theo Snelders at Pittodrie and left the Aberdeen keeper with a fractured cheek bone. He said: "I was involved an incident like that myself - ironically against Aberdeen. There was a lot of water on the park and I slid in and my momentum took me straight into Theo Snelders and my knee caught him on the face. "It was a fracture of the cheek bone and it put Theo out for a long time but it was a complete accident. "So these things do happen on a football field when players go for the ball as they must do."
  6. KYLE LAFFERTY’S reputation hit the deck as spectacularly as he did at Ibrox on Saturday. The shame-filled Rangers striker now knows that in the eyes of many fans he will forever be a CHEAT and a DIVER. Among the lowest of the low in football terms. And no matter what he goes on to achieve in his career — he’s on course for a dream Double this term — his crass behaviour which led to Aberdeen full-back Charlie Mulgrew’s red card will forever haunt him. Yet, somehow, Lafferty is hoping he can still repair the huge damage he has caused to his integrity. It’s why last night the Ã?£3.25million star gave SunSport the most brutally honest confession of his football life. Lafferty, 21, said: “I know I’m going to get labelled as a diver and a cheat now. Probably for a long time, maybe the rest of my career. “But despite what’s happened, that’s definitely NOT me. “I just want to concentrate on my football, work hard and be the best possible player for Rangers. “The thing that hurts me the most is what people are obviously now going to be thinking of me. “But I DESERVE what’s coming my way now. “I’ve been fined by the club this morning and I understand the SFA are also looking at possible action. “But I’ll take whatever punishment I get because I deserve it. “I’m going to be tagged a diver and cheat by some for a while, probably FOREVER. “But I’m just going to have to take what I get while at the same time look to concentrate on the final two games of the season, the league decider and the Scottish Cup Final. “In the space of a week it could prove to be the worst and best moments of my career. “What I did on Saturday was the biggest mistake of my career. “But winning the league would be without doubt the high point so far.” Lafferty cringed with the rest of us when he saw his flashpoint with Mulgrew on TV. And he beat himself up about it. Why, he repeatedly asked himself, did he fall in such theatrical fashion? Lafferty can’t provide an answer. But what he is sure of is he’s got plenty of lost ground to recover for boss Walter Smith and the club. Advertisement The ex-Burnley hero — an injury doubt for title D-day with an ankle problem — admitted: “I have a lot of making up to do for the manager and Rangers. “I hope to be involved against Dundee United on Sunday and if I am I’ll be desperate to get a goal and help the team win to clinch the title. “To get the goal that wins the championship would be fantastic. “And it would go some way to repaying the gaffer and the supporters for what happened on Saturday. “I’m not going to say a goal and a good performance will get me out of it completely. But it’s going to help. “I’m passionate for Rangers and what I did while wearing the shirt was disrespectful to the club. “There’s even more reason now for me to go out there on Sunday and play my best. “I have to try hard for the goal that can bring the title home. “I’ve learned some really good points from this and it’s important that I pick up on those lessons. “I can’t afford to ever have a repeat of Saturday.” Lafferty added: “Winning the league on Sunday would give me the first medal of my career. “It would be an amazing moment, what I’ve dreamed about as a Rangers supporter. “It would be the highlight of my career and it would mean even more considering what’s happened. “Hopefully, everything will end well for me. “But I badly hope Charlie Mulgrew has his red card wiped out too. He’s due that. “I’m ashamed of what happened and I deeply regret Charlie’s red card. “It’s not how I’ve ever gone about things before in my career. “I don’t have a reputation for diving and cheating, but now my own actions have brought these kind of labels upon me. “I am angry with myself. Now I know I’m going to get stick wherever I play. The opposition fans will hammer me, I am prepared for that. “And I’m just going to have to take it because I’ve brought it upon myself. “It’s going to be a very tough game on Sunday at Tannadice. “And it will be even tougher for myself with what’s happened. But it’s my own fault.” Lafferty is also now facing an SFA charge and likely suspension for next season as the review panel studies TV footage of Saturday’s flashpoint. He added: “I’ve been stunned by the reaction to what happened. “It was only after the game that I began to fully appreciate how people felt about it. “When I saw the incident on TV I felt ASHAMED. It’s not something I’m proud of, not at all. “It was embarrassing and I fully understand the reaction of people in the game and the supporters. “I know I’m going to get a hefty reception on Sunday and wherever else I go from now on. “At the end of the day I’m a Rangers player and it’s up to me to return to the standards that a fantastic club like this expects of its players. “The club’s fined me and I know I deserve it. “I just want to end the season on a high, not a real downer. “The last couple of days have been difficult. I’ve been really down. Now I want to move on from this.” http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/article2436024.ece
  7. BARRY FERGUSON is on the verge of quitting Rangers in a shock £1million move to West Brom. SunSport can reveal Ibrox midfielder Ferguson, 31, travelled to the Hawthorns on Sunday for contract talks. Fergie was a guest of the club for the Premiership clash with Liverpool. Now the shamed former Scotland and Ibrox skipper looks set to pledge his future to the Baggies. West Brom were relegated after Sundayâs 2-0 defeat, but despite several English top-flight clubs monitoring his situation itâs understood Fergie has told Tony Mowbray heâs willing to make the move. With Gers keen to get his bumper pay off their wage bill Mogga is likely to get his man for a cut-price £1m. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/article2435875.ece
  8. My pool is in a terrible state, I'll need to get in new contractors
  9. We are Rangers super rangers no-one likes us we don't care...............................
  10. Steady guys, what have I ever done to you ?
  11. But some mess to clear up afterwards
  12. How many from here will be going along to Ibrox to watch the team bringing the title home ?. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, so just wondering if any of our gersnet members are going, good to get some pics if they are going.
  13. RANGERS have lodged an appeal against the red card administered to Madjid Bougherra in Saturday's 2-1 win over Aberdeen. The Light Blues hope that the decision will be over-turned so that the Algerian defender will be free to play in Sunday's final SPL match of the season at Tannadice when they have the chance to win the Championship. Bougherra slid in to try to get on the end of a pass by Stevie Whittaker and made contact with Aberdeen keeper Jamie Langfield. He was dismissed by referee Stuart Dougal on the advice of assistant Graham Chambers who felt that the Rangers centre back deliberately tried to kick Langfield. Rangers are hoping that when the incident is looked at again it will be decided that there was no such intent from the Rangers Supporters Player of the Year.
  14. KYLE LAFFERTY has apologised for his actions in Saturday's 2-1 win over Aberdeen and has admitted he has let down the club, the fans, the match officials and Dons defender Charlie Mulgrew. Lafferty went down easily in the 17th minute when Mulgrew remonstrated with him on the Govan Stand touchline after the Rangers player had tackled him which led to referee Stuart Dougal sending off the Aberdeen player. Rangers have fined Lafferty for his actions and have expressed their severe disappointment over his behaviour. Charlie Mulgrew is sent offLafferty has vowed to apologise personally to Mulgrew for the way he behaved. In a statement to the official web site Lafferty said: "I want to apologise for my actions in Saturday's match with Aberdeen. "It was something I should not have done and I deeply regret what happened. "I will make a personal apology to Charlie Mulgrew because he should not have been sent off. "I also want to apologise to the referee and his assistants. It is difficult enough for officials to handle important SPL matches without me making it more difficult by behaving the way I did. "I also totally accept that I have let down the club and the supporters. "There are standards at Rangers Football Club that need to be upheld and I have fallen way below these standards. "What I did was wrong and I would like to say sorry to the supporters because they should expect better from a Rangers player. "Their backing on Saturday was fantastic - as it has been all season - and for me to behave the way I did was completely wrong."
  15. Win it, then don't go to collect it, just get the players to celebrate with the Rangers fans
  16. I couldn't give a feck how we win it tbh, even a couple of dives for penalties !!, we have seen the MOPES cheat their way to the title for so long now, I'd rather we went out and hammered them 5-0 playing superb football..............but we don't do that so I'll take any type of win
  17. I think the fact that we the fans as well as the players know they have to go and perform well unlike @ Easter Road when I think most thought all they had to do was turn up,certainly that was the impression the players gave us, but they know what is required. The key word is patience in this game, from the players as well as the fans, our away fans have been immense this season and no doubt they will be in full voice again, but as I said patience is going to be crucial, it's there to take so go and take it
  18. May 18 2009 By James Traynor and Craig Swan THE fate of Madjid Bougherra and perhaps also Rangers' title hopes depends on a change of heart by linesman Graham Chambers. The assistant referee at Ibrox on Saturday and NOT whistler Stuart Dougal will be asked to decide if Bougherra's red card in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen should be rescinded. But Kyle Lafferty can expect no leniency. In fact, Record Sport can reveal he will be hit with a £12,000 fine by his own club, who are embarrassed and furious about his behaviour against the Dons. Lafferty is also expected to make apologies for conning Dougal into sending off Charlie Mulgrew. Even so, the Northern Irish internationalist can expect further punishment from the SFA who are determined to stamp out cheating. Lafferty was caught on TV winking to team-mates after he'd thrown himself to the ground clutching his face to pretend he'd been head-butted by Mulgrew. But it emerged last night the Dons defender's red card will be rescinded, leaving him free to face Hibs on Sunday. Rangers hope they will have Bougherra for their crucial match against Dundee United. He was sent off for sliding into Jamie Langfield. It had been thought Dougal sent him off for the challenge but, according to Chambers, his crime was kicking out at the keeper's head as they lay on the turf. Rangers hope Chambers will review the incident after they appeal to the SFA today. If he changes his mind or believes there could be some doubt over intent the incident will go to the SFA's review panel. They will sit before Sunday and there is a good chance they will cut the punishment to a yellow and let Bougherra play at Tannadice. Dougal said in a statement last night: "Upon returning home I reviewed the Mulgrew and Lafferty incident. "My views on it have since been emailed to the SFA, the contents of which must remain private until they've had time to consider them. "Like most people in the ground I was convinced Lafferty had been the victim of violent conduct. I have now seen what others have seen and this will form the basis of my report to the SFA. "With regard to the Bougherra incident, the assistant referee will review his decision if requested." Dougal knows he was conned by Lafferty and the SFA will wipe Mulgrew's record. They will then have to deal with Lafferty because it was his diving that caused the referee to make the wrong call. SFA chief executive Gordon Smith is out to remove simulation from the game and article 10 of the UEFA disciplinary procedure will be used to punish Lafferty in July. That's when the SFA disciplinary committee is scheduled to meet and they will also review incidents involving Celtic's Glenn Loovens and Scott McDonald. Loovens escaped punishment for kicking Maurice Edu in the Old Firm match and McDonald got away with a high tackle on Lee Wilkie of Dundee United. Unlike the Bougherra case, these incidents are referred to the disciplinary meeting because referees didn't see them. Meanwhile, Aberdeen's Michael Paton has slammed Lafferty. The youngster said: "What he did was terrible and it backfired on Rangers because it looked as if the referee tried to even it up by sending Bougherra off." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/rangers/2009/05/18/rangers-star-madjid-bougherra-needs-linesman-s-change-of-heart-to-play-in-spl-showdown-86908-21368323/
