  1. I wouldn't..................not if it takes him 5 minutes to catch him
  2. When you see '' fans '' throwing cups, bottles at our players, leaving in droves etc, I'm surprised there wasn't a riot, there was certainly some abuse getting directed at these clowns from our fans, I really wish they would fuck off and never come back,I'd rather see empty seats
  3. It always seems to be on CL nights when these arseholes appear and give Rangers fans a bad name.I really hope they catch the prick that done this and gets a life time ban from Ibrox and charged
  4. I would love that, even if we got beat,I'm sure there would be no lack of effort from the young guys which is severely lacking in our so called first team players
  5. Manure wins 0-1 away in Moscow
  6. Glasgow is our home...........not Manchester
  7. Regardless of what team WS sends out, the fans have a big part to play on Saturday more than ever IMO. The boos that sounded after the game last night should be enough to let the players, management know that the performance was not good enough and has been like that for most of our league games so far this season, however we are the champions and still undefeated in the SPL. This is a massive game on Saturday and the players heads will be down so the fans need to get right behind them and roar them to victory and show everybody what the Rangers fans are all about. If we do get beat then I expect the same response we heard from the fans last night.

  11. BIRMINGHAM boss Alex McLeish is plotting an £8 million January swoop for Aiden McGeady. McLeish will be handed a staggering £40m transfer kitty by the club's new owner Carson Yeung. And SunSport understands the former Rangers boss is tracking Celtic idol McGeady with a view to tabling an offer which Hoops chiefs will find hard to reject. But we can also reveal that Rangers stars Madjid Bougherra and Kris Boyd WON'T be targeted. McLeish failed with a £4m move for Ibrox goal machine Boyd last January, with the man he took to Gers turning down a switch to the Premiership over personal terms. The Blues boss has also been strongly linked with stopper Bougherra. But centre-half is not a priority position for McLeish, who is desperate to improve his side's attacking options. McGeady has also been linked with giants such as Spurs and Bayern Munich. McLeish is delighted that City's takeover will see him handed funding beyond his dreams. But in an interview yesterday on BBC Five Live he said: "We have to be prudent. It's one thing being given large amounts of money, it's another spending it wisely." http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/2688353/Eck-eyes-Aiden.html
  12. MADJID BOUGHERRA has talked his way out of a Rangers fine - after Walter Smith accepted the stopper's reason for going AWOL. Bougy faced showdown talks with Smith after missing Saturday's win at St Johnstone. But the Gers boss has been convinced Bougherra was not at fault for failing to report back on time from international duty. The Algerian revealed he had his bag containing his passport and phone stolen in Paris just before he was due to fly back to Glasgow. Smith said: "Madjid has explained the circumstances which led him to be late back from international duty and I accept what he's had to say. "Initially I was led to believe his belongings were stolen on Monday, but it turns out that happened on Thursday. "In fairness, his agent contacted Ally McCoist and told him of the situation. Having now spoken to Madjid there's no problem. "That is the matter closed now." Bougherra, who watched the win in Perth on the internet, is now bracing himself for an epic autumn as Gers defend the SPL title and chase a place in the last 16 of the Champions League. He's also eyeing a place in both the World Cup Finals and African Cup of Nations when Algeria head for Egypt next month. Bougherra, 27, said: "I would say this is probably going to be the most important month of my entire career for club and country. "I hope to play against Unirea Urziceni on Tuesday and we know a win would help our chances of reaching the next phase. "We also have some huge matches coming up in the league and I have one eye on the game against Egypt with Algeria." Victory over Egypt would also send the Desert Foxes to the African finals in Angola in January - and rule out Bougy for up to a month of domestic action. But he won't leave Scotland until after the Old Firm derby at New Year. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/2688388/Bougys-off-the-hook.html

  18. Glad to see someone with balls telling it how it is
  19. SPL decision is pure claptrap Oct 18 2009 Gorden Waddell NEW faces, same old wimps. Shame on the SPL for their Remembrance Sunday cop-out. After Celtic asked Falkirk for a minute's applause instead of silence on November 8 the Bairns turned to league chiefs for guidance. And their answer was "your home game, your problem". It's not. It's Celtic's problem and shame on them too for not having the balls to take responsibility. I'm not a big fan of the minute's applause anyway but you can almost understand it as a tribute to a club legend. But for the millions of fallen from world wars? It's an outrage. Falkirk managing director George Craig will make the right decision and tell his pea-hearted opposite number to take a hike I'm sure. Let the IRA-loving "elements" of Celtic's support shame themselves. Don't ask our club to shame those of us with morals. http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/opinion/columnists/gordon-waddell/2009/10/18/spl-decision-is-pure-claptrap-78057-21756406/

We are not in a position to under estimate any team, I hope that message gets put across to our players on Tuesday !!!
  22. SIMPLICITY is genius. The sooner Aiden McGeady realises that the sooner my old Celtic team-mate will fulfil his potential - and get his critics off his back. Not only that he'll take himself to the English Premier League. A lot has been said about McGeady in the last few weeks. From Jim McLean attacking him for his Old Firm performance to Mark Lawrenson saying he's a two-bob show pony, the word seems to be he's not all he's cracked up to be. But let me state here and now that in terms of what's required to be a top-class player McGeady is everything and more. He just needs to prove it. He's not a kid anymore at 23 but McGeady has the talent and ability in his locker to mix it with the very best. I mean it, I look at him and see a boy who could sign for any of England's top six clubs in the next two or three years. He could walk into the Arsenal side tomorrow and take Andrey Arshavin's place. That may sound OTT but the reason I can say that - and others won't - is that I've worked with him in the training ground and know what he's about. He can be frustrating, I'll give you that. I'm not going to lie, I see him try and take on two and three defenders at the one time and I scream at him to pass the ball inside. Arsenal v Olympiacos OUT ON HIS ARSH ... John says Aiden would take Arshavin's place And that's just when I'm watching him on TV. His ability on the ball is unquestionable when he's on his game because he is more than capable of beating men and causing havoc. But the odds are stacked against him every time. For every one time he'll get to the bye-line there will be eight other occasions when he will be stopped. He'd realise that if he stopped to think a little bit more than he does. It may sound the easiest thing in the world, popping the ball five yards to the side when there's nothing on ahead. But the best players do it. They keep possession until they're faced with a one-on-one situation then hit the defender hard. It doesn't matter if you're Robinho, if you are giving the ball away every time you get hold of it you're a complete waste of time to the team. Your gaffer doesn't want you going past your man once every six or seven times. McGeady must get that into his head because if he does Celtic will have a real player on their hands. The one he's always threatened to be. He's up there at the moment in my book but he'd step up to another level by playing the game with his head as much as he does with his feet. In terms of having a natural gift, though, he's out on his own in this country. Remember when he burst on to the scene? I played the night he turned in that electric display against AC Milan in the Champions League when he tore them to shreds. Paolo Maldini said afterwards McGeady was going to be a world beater. I can also think back to games when he's been different class. Look at the turn he did at Pittodrie last season when he turned 360 degrees and knocked the ball across goal for Scott McDonald to score - that was genuine class. McGeady does that sort of thing half a dozen times a season while most players don't do it half a dozen times in their entire career. Advertisement When you set standards like that for yourself then it's always going to be difficult. At times in recent years I reckon it's been too easy for him if I'm being honest. The problems with Gordon Strachan haven't helped. I don't care what anyone says, you want your manager to put his arm around you and say how good you are. You don't want him giving you a hard time. Gordon was maybe on McGeady's case too often and as a result a problem materialised. That's where I see a bit of myself in McGeady. I was in the Arsenal side at 18 and started well before settling down a little but I was always better when someone was patting me on the back, not kicking me up the backside. It's not easy when you force your way into a massive team like Celtic and everyone is raving about you. Trust me, I've been there. It's tough when expectations are raised because if those standards slip, even just slightly, people tend to jump on that. For me that's being hyper-critical and unfair on the lad. With all due respect, McLean and Lawrenson should know better but I can guarantee McGeady will go onto bigger and better things. The Premiership is where Celtic long to be in the years ahead - but for me McGeady will get there a lot sooner than the club will. :fish: http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/columnists/johnhartson/2687098/McGeadys-the-next-Arshavin.html
  23. RANGERS may have to face St Johnstone today without Madjid Bougherra after he failed to return from a World Cup qualifier in Algeria. Mystery surrounded the defender's whereabouts late last night as Walter Smith and the rest of his squad checked into a luxury retreat in Perthshire ahead of today's live TV lunchtime clash. Record Sport can reveal Bougherra was expected to fly back to Glasgow on Wednesday after helping his country take a step towards South Africa 2010 with a 3-1 win over Rwanda on Sunday. The defender was due to report to Murray Park on Thursday but was nowhere to be seen and failed to respond to attempts by Ibrox coaching staff to contact him. Smith was forced to call young Jordan McMillan into his squad yesterday after Bougherra failed to turn up for a second successive training session. And the SPL champs headed north yesterday afternoon without Bougherra on the team bus. Record Sport understands the player's agent did finally make contact with Rangers yesterday to insist his client had been held up due to a passport problem and that he hoped to land back in Scotland at around 10pm last night. Even so, the Rangers boss was not expecting to have Bougherra in his starting 11 today. What's more, we can reveal this is in fact the second time this season the player has reported back late from international duty. The last time he turned up the night before the 0-0 draw at Motherwell - where he was sent off - claiming his connection from Paris had been cancelled. Smith accepted that story but is unlikely to be as easily satisfied with this latest incident. In fact, so angered was the Rangers boss last night it would not be a surprise if Bougherra is dropped and fined even if he does make it to Perth ahead of today's 12.30pm kick-off. This latest example of erratic behaviour will also spark speculation over his long-term future. The former Charlton man had been tipped to return south on a big-money move in the summer and had also told the Ibrox club of interest in him from France. But he then said he did not want to leave after only one season at Gers and it's believed his representatives have even asked for talks on a new deal. However, Bougherra now faces a fight just to convince Smith that he is committed to the cause. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2009/10/17/exclusive-mystery-as-madjid-bougherra-fails-to-return-from-qualifier-86908-21753448/
