When did this happen? McCulloch quit for `family reasons` I recall. Between the welcoming back of thugs like him, Boyd and The Huns ned goalkeeper this is another reason to distance myself from the national side.

It's been referred to a few times as the incident where "Bamba felled Miller". McGeady did it,was sent off, it was in the papers for three days saying how he was a cheat. I have noticed it more than ever this year, and has actually convinced me I'm not paranoid . Imagine a Celtic player had done what Monster Munch had done. All the papers are blaming Zemamma saying that he's a play-actor but we can clearly see it for ourselves. The articles on McCulloch's comeback for Scotland ... Remember Davie Weir's error that cost Scotland a place at the Euros (sort of) wasn't highly publicised in our media and they just said went on about how he'd been a loyal servant for Scotland etc. If it weren't for the fact he was a Hun, I'd agree, but if it had been McManus or Caldwell, they would've been slated. Now that Boyd's been booked for "obstruction" they can't punish him for that blatant elbow, an effing joke. Maybe this is paranoia, but is it possible Conroy would've know Boyd's points so to speak, or would that make him ridiculously Hunnish and a sad barsteward? I am fully aware of our shortcomings but some of the decisions going R*****s' way have been appalling, and we've should've had a few go our way (Dundee Utd at home and Rangers at home off the top of my head). How many more matches involving Rangers will Conroy be in charge of pre/post split?

So I'll ask you as well..... Are the huns genuinely worth their 10 point lead? Have they won all of their SPL games fairly and squarely? Yes we have been pish but that is not the sole reason for our league position and the 10 point gap.

Statement From Rangers Supporters in Respect of the Protest

The guy needs a big hug from all the fans, seriously I believe he will be a good player for Rangers, tin hat at the ready, but to be fair he's a young player with still a lot to learn in his career, his price tag has a lot to do with the pressure he is under as well as a lot of criticism he receives,IMO, he has made an arse of himself a few times already, but hey if he learns then so what
-
When he was going to take the penalty on Sunday I knew he would score, scoring a penalty is not as easy as everybody likes to make out, hence the reason some are missed even by the best players in the world, but Boyd probably is one of the best penalty takers around,IMO

Aye,typical MOPES/BHEASTS Pete. They have a reputation for diving/cheating and yet blame everybody else for their own results

How that guy can look at himself in the mirror having played for both Celtic and Rangers is beyond belief. He just has the look of a wee Judas who is building a stockpile of pieces of silver. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he came to us, despite knowing he wasn't good enough to put that shirt on. When he joined them again I laughed, as I didn't think he was good enough for them either. And I stand by that still. But my god I would love to go into a 50-50 challenge with him, and really give him something to roll about the pitch for.

Member Member #9,220 Joined: 2 July 2007 More serious imo is that Conroy seems incapable of identifying violent behaviour when it happens. Lafferety on Hinkel and now Boyd. Obstruction is using the whole or part of the body to hold off a player. Violent conduct is hitting a player. Boyd caught the Hibs lad in the face with his arm or elbow ffs. If Conroy is not at it, he clearly is incompetent if he thinks both incidents not worth a more severe penalty than he handed out. The media have also invented a new kind of foul for Rangers only. It is called "naughty" Then you get the "news" right after the game via Chico it was obstruction. You can bet Chico knew the difference beween one kind of foul and another. "Hey ref" what was the booking of Boyd for?" "Violent conduct" Do you know that puts him out of the game v Celtic and shoul;d he not have walked?" "Obstruction I said" They say it was the linesman's call so by precedent (Bougherra on Langfield) Conroy should be asked to review his decision. He might stick by it but he should be asked. Trouble is nobody knows who can ask with enough authority for the Review Panel to click into motion since there are no clear guidelines about who makes the request. Dont give me anybody can, the SFA simply ignore it if they can. Celtic are still waiting for clarification following the Loovens review. The SFA are in full protection mode.

Agree 100% with that Frankie,Weir has been the most consistent player at Rangers since he signed and doesn't get the amount of credit he deserves IMO,all that seems to be said about Weir is '' he is too old '',if he can play like like is now then he can play next season as well IMO. -

One thing that annoys me about Rangers/WS, why do we pull every single player back for corners?,even Beasley was back for corners!!, what is he going to do back there?,when HIVS were defending corners they left two players up front!!,we should be leaving at least one player up front IMO, Miller being the most likely, when the ball gets cleared it normally just gets punted back into the box as there is no-one up front to challenge for the ball. -

Could the plan be (as someone else has indicated) to get them so out in front that deducting 10 points will mean feck all. Probably not the idea at start of season, but with our pish results, and if it could happen, then would be ideal scenario for them, I can think of at least 9 points they would have lost and at least 3 points we would have gained just in the 2 games we played them, the establishment looking after the establishment team

murphio Yesterday, 3:11 PM Post #1 Member Avatar Older than dirt [ * * * * * * * * * * * * ] Posts: 27,827 Group: Snr. Member Member #127 Joined: 2 September 2004 Ive thought long and hard about this situation since yesterday's absolute shambles at Pittodrie and I think its time to act. As someone who has defended Mowbray's right to be given a chance to prove himself in the job I dont need any further evidence and I dont need to wait until the end of the season - its clear that the guy, as much as I like him as a person, is so far beyond being good enough its getting to the embarassing stage. We are a complete and utter mess - worse than we ever were under John Barnes and every bit as bad as Rangers under Paul Le Guen. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made and while there is still a title to and a Scottish Cup to fight for - not to mention a small matter of second place which looks increasingly in danger - its imperative we get some stabilty and balance in the team. I understand that as a support we dont like sacking managers and treating people badly - especially Celtic people - but there comes a time when you have to say enough is enough. I was desperate for Mogga to succeed but his appointment looks increasingly like a mistake and I can no longer continue on blind faith. I have needed sings of improvement, notice that things were changing but this team - while playing some decent stuff at times - has meandered from one shambles to the next. I can see why people think we should give Mogga the entire season but I dont concur with timeframes. Id be preapred - in all honesty - to give him longer than a season with no silverware if I had the slightest inkling there was improvement in the team but there hasnt been - the same mistakes are being made week after week and we are handing a poor Rangers team yetr another lifeline. It is with this in mind that I think we need to bring Willie McStay back from Hungary. He won title after title with the reserves, a treble in his only season in Ireland and has done a very good job as manager of Ujpest. He will almost certainly not be any worse than the current manager so I think we are probably in a position now where we have very little to lose and a gamble may be worth taking. I fear that doing nothing will only result in the huns winning another treble. The board acted on John Barnes. Its time to act now on Mowbray. Id love to be proved wrong and for us to embark on some kind of unprecedented winning run and take the title - or at the very least give some kind of impression we are on an upward curve. But the chances, imo, are remote. Bring back McStay.

I laugh when I hear guys saying,'' aye Boyd can score goals in the SPL,but he couldnae dae it in the EPL,or La Liga ect'',while it's true to an extent,if it was that easy to score in the SPL then there would be a lot players vying for the highest SPL scorer of all time,IMO.

AMERICAN hoping to put problems behind him and win call-up, finds Andrew Smith THERE ARE hard-luck stories in football. The player who waits long and weary for his chance, then takes it big style only to be struck down by injury, is a typical one. The player who suffers this fate, then has his car blown up by a petrol bomb as he recuperates, is a not-so-typical one. But DaMarcus Beasley has no interest in presenting himself as the atypical player when discussing his possible return to Rangers' first-team for this afternoon's hosting of Hibernian – almost six weeks after tearing thigh muscles. The recent destruction of his BMW in Glasgow's West End he initially wrote of on his Twitter page, but now says he "can't really talk about it". His amiable, expansive chat he reserves for the prospects that a club comeback could allay fears of not making the United States squad for the World Cup finals. And, although he expresses a desire to stay in Scotland thereafter, the chances of him earning another contract with the financially-challenged Ibrox club on the expiry of his current deal in the summer seem as slim as his skeletal frame. Beasley was producing the best form of a Rangers career that hasn't seen him produce much of any form – not helped by a cruciate ligament injury costing him most of the 2007-08 season – when he suffered his latest ailment. The Ã?£700,000 signing from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2007 had only racked up four straight games when struck down. But in scoring during a 3-0 win at Tannadice and then a 6-1 mauling of Motherwell, he was considered a central player in the club's most impressive spell for a couple of years. "Yeah, it made it worse that the team was playing well and I was contributing after the gaffer put me in," he says. "Everything was up and up at the time. I've had a lot of injuries throughout my career here at Rangers, but hopefully this is the last one. It has been the worst period. I've never had so many injuries, and always different things. If it's not my hamstring, it's my knee. If it's not my knee, it's my thigh. If it's not my thigh, it's my ankle. I've never had this before. "I need to make sure I take care of myself a lot better. Maybe I need to ask Davie Weir what it is he does in the summertime because I definitely need to do that. I'm getting to a time in my career when I need to look after myself a lot better so I don't get these injuries." Yet, the picture looked bleak for Beasley earlier this season when he was fit and simply not considered. Until November, he had only made one first-team appearance – against Dundee in the Co-operative Insurance Cup. "It was important for myself, me personally, my confidence," he says. "I was fit and not getting a game and that's always tough. The name of the game is getting out there and showing what you can do. Two and a half years ago when the gaffer bought me he saw something in me and I wanted to make sure that he still knows what I can do now. I feel confident on the pitch, I just needed a run of games and got that before the injury. If I get a run of games I feel like I can help the team. Friday was my first day back in full training, but it felt good. I don't know about Sunday. I think I feel ready to play again. My thigh feels strong. I've done a lot of gym work." His past fine work for his country in the course of his 89 caps appears as if it might be overlooked by US coach Bob Bradley. Beasley has not played for his national team since last summer's Confederations Cup and a recent phone call between the pair does not seem to have provided him with any grounds for optimism. "I spoke to him about two and a half weeks ago. It was a good conversation. We got a lot of things out that needed to be said and that was it. We spoke and were on the same page about what's going to happen in the summer," he says, admitting banter has "been going on every day" between him and fellow US internationalist Maurice Edu and their Algerian team-mate Madjid Bougherra after the two countries were drawn in the same group. "(I'm concerned at the possibility of missing South Africa] because I missed the last four games of qualifying, so it's obviously in my head that there's a chance I could miss the World Cup. Its very disappointing for myself personally. I never thought I'd be in this position until later in my career, but it's happened and I've got to live with it. I've got to show the Rangers manager I can play and then show the American manager that I'm a player he can use in the World Cup. "There's a lot to think about. In a World Cup year, if I don't sign again for Rangers it would help if I do go to South Africa. If I do well, being a free agent, a lot of doors could open for myself and it could be a good thing. "My first thing is to get fit and play and see if Rangers want to keep me. I have to talk to them and see what they want to do. I've never wanted to leave Rangers, its just been about me wanting to play. Rangers is a great club and if they want me to stay I'll definitely stay." http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/sport/Interview-DaMarcus-Beasley-Rangers-player.6070802.jp

Another away day where the chances to goals ratio is less than 25%, another bunch of individual and collective mistakes, another set of baffling substitutions, and 3d place is more likely than the league. We will not win the league until we start closing out 2 goal leads. Says it all when only the hope of administration and that Hibs won't overtake us is all we have to cling to. I've given up on the league now because the evidence is, and has been, overwhelmingly staring us in the face since August. We can't go away from home without something causing apoplexy, and we're just as likely to not win at home these days too. Aye, there's still a chance if the Huns implode. but Hibs have as good a shot as we have on current results. I'll say one thing though, it's still more exciting than Strachan's version of loseritis. Good post as usual AP however disagree with last comment. Doesn't matter if we lose playing exciting football or boring stuff. We need to win first and foremost. To me it is a point of principle. Celtic should play free flowing attacking football. Its what we are known for. We have flair and the huns are dour. Its our positive approach to playing football that has won us the support of so many people over the years who aren't from a traditional Celtic background. This was being lost under Strachan and I am glad that we have recommitted to it, notwithstanding the league table. I don't want to see us revert to Walter Smith football, even if it gets to the top of the league. Now obviously the defending should be better, and the fact that a bunch of defenders who have barely played together are struggling is no great surprise but needs to be remedied. But easing up on the attacking or worse bringing in Mark Hughes and a gang of hammer throwers is not the answer, even if results short term might improve. If Mowbray goes to Ibrox with four up front and we rip the huns to pieces it will make a statement that will last for years.. Keep the faith !
