  5. SEAN DILLON is convinced the only reason Steven Davis hasn't been lured back to the Premiership is because of his love for Rangers. But Dillon aims to wreck the treble hopes of his former Aston Villa team-mate when Dundee United roll up at Ibrox for tomor row's Scottish Cup clash. The pair came through the ranks at the English outfit and it's there Dillon first clapped eyes on the Northern Ireland midfielder whom he regards as being tailor-made for the English top-flight. Dillon knows Belfast boy Davis is a Rangers diehard but he's on a mission to spoil his hopes of a clean sweep of domestic trophies in their quarter-final clash. He said: "Steven is a great player and I was actually with him as a YTS at Aston Villa even though he was a couple of years younger than me. "It was my last year at Villa and his first so I knew him. "I was with the under-19s in my last year there while he was with the under-17s. He certainly stood out when he was younger and it wasn't a surprise when he broke into the first team. "We don't speak that often now but whenever I do see him it's usually at games. "I'm surprised he isn't back in the Premiership but he is a massive Rangers fan. "He's obviously happy but he's good enough to be in the Premiership - he's one of Rangers' best players. "Even when he doesn't play well he's still a threat so we'll have to an eye on him ." United have sworn there will be no repeat of their last visit to Govan which ended in a 7-1 thumping. Dillon said: "We've not really spoken about it that often since then but we knew it would get brought up. "The result hurt us but now we just want to prove that we're better than that." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/cups/scottish-cup/2010/03/13/pal-steven-davis-love-of-rangers-will-keep-him-from-premiership-return-says-dundee-united-s-sean-dillon-86908-22107921/

  10. KDS: Cossy Today, 10:14 AM Post #411 First-team starter [ * * * * * ] Posts: 803 Group: Members Member #22,935 Joined: 4 February 2009 Favourite all-time player Frank McGarvey - Honest! Lads, I actually contacted teh PR department at the club about this, for me this article is beyond the pale. The PR woman said that they were well aware of the article, indeed, she even said "you're calling about the opinion piece in the Daily Record?" She asked me to wite to Celtic and complain and she said taht if I knew anyone else who felt teh same to do like wise, so I did - I have pasted my letter below. the email address is publicrelations@celticfc.co.uk Here is my letter. Sir/Madam While not a paying consumer of low rent publications such as the Daily Record, my attention was brought to an article published in the said journal, under the guise of a Mark Hately opinion piece “as told to Keith Jackson”. As a club, we are no stranger to baseless tirades and agenda ridden invective, however this article is , without question, the most vitriolic I have ever witnessed in mainstream media. Which, considering what has been written about the club in the past, is saying something. Aside from the factual inaccuracies such as “They've blamed the refs, they've blamed the SFA, they've blamed the state of the pitches.” and “They have thrown accusations around on a seemingly weekly basis”. There contains, despite the “get out” of it being an “opinion” piece, potentially libelous content such as “They have attempted to blacken the reputation of the entire Scottish game” and “Celtic's nefarious smear campaign”. In addition, the overall tone of the article, coupled with provocative and emotive language such as “There is indeed something rotten in the state of the SPL - and it's festering away in Glasgow's East End.” and “succeeded only in making a mockery of themselves” demonstrates the agenda of this publication and possibly the agenda of individuals or organisations who have a vested interest in the performance of Celtic FC and the way it and its supporters are portrayed in Scottish Society as whole. This article is the latest in a litany of attacks made on the club, and highlights the stance of not just the journal in question, but also of various other media outlets in Scotland. Furthermore, articles such as the one referenced, added to the purposeful lack of balance on topics being reported or covered, not only justify the long held grievances of the Celtic Family, they also irresponsibly fuel increased tensions in communities and workplaces across Scotland. There is a large swathe of opinion among the Celtic Family, that the past few months have seen our club attacked and victimised like never before. At this time the Celtic support look to those in power at Celtic Park to show leadership, defend the club and take action against those parties who attack Celtic with apparent impunity. There is also a deep sense of anger among the Celtic Family, that the individuals associated with these media outlets are afforded considerable courtesy at no expense to themselves, from Celtic FC, while at the same time the support, make a considerable financial commitment to the club. I am sure the many instances of double standards, attacks and smears adopted by the media are well known within Celtic Park, as I am also sure the club are aware of the involvement of parties other than the media in these instances. However, there comes a time when a line in the sand has to be drawn, our club defended and our enemies exposed and confronted. I look forward eagerly to your response and subsequent actions
  11. I fancy us to get maximum points in these games, I also think the BHEASTS will drop points !!
  12. Neither Rangers nor Celtic have won the championship in a derby since the notorious game in 1999, when Rangers clinched it at Parkhead amid chaotic scenes including referee Hugh Dallas being struck on the head by a coin. An inquiry was held into the violence and public disorder surrounding that game. The SPL then announced that a series of steps would be taken to reduce the likelihood of any seasonââ?¬â?¢s final Old Firm match being a potential title decider. Those steps will be taken again this time but an SPL spokesman admitted that the governing body cannot guarantee that Rangers will not be able to win the title at Parkhead. If the SPL chose the ââ?¬Å?safestââ?¬Â date for the derby to go ahead, but results conspired to mean it could be a decider after all, the date would not be changed at the 11th hour. As things stand, Rangers are 13 points ahead with 10 games remaining. If Rangers and Celtic each win their next five league games Rangers would become champions if they then win their sixth. That would be the first fixture after the top six/bottom six split, probably on April 17/18, which is often used for the final Old Firm game because usually neither team is in a position to win the league by then. Clearly, the SPL could schedule the game for later in the season but that would only heighten the tension if Rangers were to suffer an unlikely collapse of form and allow Celtic back into the contest. Rangers could win the league even before they go to Parkhead, of course, if they keep winning until the split and Celtic lose once. Celticââ?¬â?¢s inconsistency all season means they seem highly unlikely to win their next five league games, but the SPL is already aware that if both clubs were to do so there would be a decision to make. ââ?¬Å?The SPL will do what it can do to minimise the possibility of it being a decider, but we canââ?¬â?¢t legislate for everything,ââ?¬Â said a spokesman. ââ?¬Å?There is still a lot of football to be played before we know who will be in the top six and when the Old Firm game should be. ââ?¬Å?With these types of decisions we would have to consult with the clubs and the authorities. But we canââ?¬â?¢t say for definite that we will be able to avoid it. Old Firm cup finals do take place so they do occasionally meet each other when the prizes can be decided.ââ?¬Â While the title race and top six make-up remains undecided the SPL will delay announcement of fixtures until around April 10/11, the weekend when the league splits. Why don't you mention it was because of the BHEASTS ?? http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/spl-admit-ran-gers-could-win-the-championship-in-the-final-old-firm-game-of-the-season-at-parkhead-1.1012484

  16. We have the establishment to thank for that though
  17. Just another decision from the establishment that went our way!!!!!, the BHEASTS are not interested in any tackles that deliberately injur our players, in fact they applaud them
  18. If they get offended by any of our songs then why don't they go home?,anyway why sit and watch/listen to Rangers games?,oh! that's because they are more obsessed with Rangers more than they are their own pish team
