The thing is though, nobody wants to see Rangers do well in Europe,no-one likes us we don't care.It will benefit Scottish football if Hibs & Motherwell win so I'm all for seeing them do well, also I'm happy to see the BHEASTS humped but if they were to beat Braga in the return leg but still go out would that not help the coefficiency?, as well as giving us all the CL money.

Aye, but at least he is C****c minded

KATLEGO MPHELA has admitted he would be CRAZY to turn down a move to Rangers. Ibrox boss Walter Smith has made enquiries about the South African striker and Bafana Bafana team-mate Bongani Khumalo. But Mphela, 25, has yet to hear anything from his agent Steve Kapeluschnik. The Mamelodi Sundowns ace said: "It would be a good move for me, but no one has told me anything. "I'll have to call my agent and find out what he has to say about it. "Obviously I'd love to go to a team of Rangers' quality and I'd be crazy to turn down a move. They are the Manchester United of Scottish football." Kapeluschnik has held talks with Rangers' chief executive Martin Bain. The agent said: "There is a real interest from Glasgow, but there is a process that we have to go through and there is no firm offer on the table. "Rangers are still in Australia, so we'll have to wait and see what happens in the next few days." Mphela insists it would be good to have Khumalo with him in Scotland. He added: "I hope they can work something out for both of us. We showed during the World Cup we are good enough." RANGERS are ready to return with an improved offer for Rapid Vienna striker Nikica Jelavic. The Ibrox club have had a £1.5million bid for the Croatian hitman rejected. But SunSport understands negotiations are ongoing, with Gers chief executive Martin Bain hoping to persuade the Austrian club to cash in on Jelavic, who has one year left on his contract. Vienna sporting director Alfred Hoertnagl said: "Nikica is an incredible striker. He has become a real asset to us. Whoever wants him will have to put down quite a sum." Absolutely mate. The BHEASTS are desperately buying distinctly average players in an attempt to win the SPL. We still have the stronger/better team, they do however have more depth of squad and that is the only thing that concerns me.Hopefully we can get 2-3 decent quality players in and with 2-3 younger players breaking through then I'm reasonably content considering the shit that's going on at Rangers. Champions:spl:. We welcome the chase.

KRIS BOYD has hit back at claims by Rangers chief executive Martin Bain that he was offered up to £22,000 per week to sign a new deal. The money was made up of £18,000 basic and £4000 appearance money. However, MailSport understands the offer was never put in writing by Bain and was subject to approval by the bank. Middlesbrough hitman Boyd said: "It is factually inaccurate and I'm disappointed he chose to disclose what was meant to be confidential discussions. "I kept my counsel on a few things when I could have gone public. It's a pity certain other people can't do the same. That said, I loved my time at the club and wish them success." Boyd has been part of a mass summer exodus in recent months - and hopes the cost-cutting doesn't send Gers into freefall. First-team stars Kevin Thomson, Danny Wilson and Nacho Novo have departed, leaving gaffer Walter Smith with a shadow squad. Smith has tried to bring in fresh faces but a wage ceiling of around £15,000 per week is making it tough. Boyd said: "Thomson and Wilson were both in the final years of their deals and I suppose it makes sense to cash in and receive around £5million. "But where does that leave Walter and the players? Not in the best position. "There must be concern. If any more first-team lads are sold it could lead to all sorts of problems. "I hope Walter will be allowed to bring in a few new players and that the race for the SPL turns out to be a good one." Boyd would love to see his old club make it three in a row. He said: "It will take a massive effort but a few of the players have experience, ability and great desire. "If Davie Weir stays fit and is available for more than 30 games that will be a huge boost. Lee McCulloch is also a vital player and Steven Davis was different class last season so hopefully he carries that on."

The 18-year-old has joined the Anfield club in a Ã?£2m transfer which could ultimately be worth Ã?£5m to Rangers, depending on appearances. However, Miller believes Wilson has been lured to Merseyside by the idea of playing in the Barclays Premier League, without having thought the move fully through. The former Rangers defender, now manager of AIK Stockholm, the Swedish champions, feels it would have been better for Wilson’s development as a player to have stayed in Glasgow and learned his trade under Walter Smith. “I think it is the wrong way to go,” Miller said. “I know that people will say, ‘How do you turn down a move to Liverpool?’ but it is not a move to the Liverpool first team. He will go down there and without a doubt be on the periphery of the senior side. That is no good. For young players to keep developing they need to be playing in the first team, as simple as that. My fear would be that without that he will stagnate. He certainly won’t be learning the way he would if he was playing week-in, week-out. “I know Rangers might have been keen to take the money because of the situation they are in, but I would imagine Walter [smith] would have tried to talk Danny into staying. It would have been in his best interests to stay at Rangers for another season and possibly even another one after that. It is too early for him to go now. “What you need to get through to young players in that situation is that if they stay and improve they can move to a big club, but as a player capable of going straight into the first-team. That is not the case for Danny just now. He is only starting out and he will find that he still has quite a bit to learn. “When I was manager of Hibernian, John Collins wanted a move. I told him he wasn’t ready for it, that he needed more time to learn the game. He took the advice and when he did get the move to Celtic he went into the first team and was a big player for them. He went on to have a fantastic career, but every player needs to have a good grounding first.” Miller spent nine years at Anfield, as head of the scouting network under Gerard Houllier before becoming a first-team coach when Rafa Benitez arrived, and retains many contacts in Liverpool. He warned Wilson that the players ahead of him in the first-team queue will not cede their places lightly. “I know the set-up at Liverpool and I know a lot of the players who are still at the club,” Miller said. “Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson are strong, strong characters. They will not be pushed out of the side easily. Danny might feel that even training with them will bring him on a bit, but for me there is no greater learning curve than playing first-team games. He would have got that at Rangers this season and he would also have got good advice. Aside from Walter on the training ground, he would have had David Weir giving him all kinds of verbal coaching throughout games. That is invaluable.”

RANGERS hope to beat Newcastle and West Ham to land St Etienne stopper Yohan Benalouane. Ibrox boss Walter Smith has targeted the former France Under-21 centre-half as he bids to make his first signing in two years. Benalouane, 23, is rated at £2.5million But the Ligue 1 outfit fear losing him for nothing when his contract runs out at the end of next season and are prepared to cash in now. Gers chief executive Martin Bain believes he could do a deal for less than the player's real value and could move right nowe. Ibrox boss Smith said: "We are doing our best to sign new players before the start of the season and Benalouane is one brought to our attention." With Newcastle, West Ham and Sevilla interested he will need persuading his future lies in the SPL. The Champions League could swing the move in Smith's favour. Benalouane is of Tunisian descent but hopes to force his way into the full French team. The 6ft 1in centre half played over 40 games for St Etienne last season. He is known as a tough tackling, no-nonsense stopper, picking up 10 yellow cards last term and one red. ALLY McCOIST last night demanded an end to the Rangers summer sales. The frustrated assistant boss has urged the club's bankers to stop cutting costs and he insisted: Enough is enough. Stars Kris Boyd, Kevin Thomson, Nacho Novo, DaMarcus Beasley, Stevie Smith and Danny Wilson have left Ibrox. So far gaffer Walter Smith has been unable to bring in any replacements. Club legend McCoist fears other players could be sold. He said: "If we lost any more it would disappoint me. "The possibility exists but I would hope that wouldn't be the case. Looking at the squad do I think we've reach the stage where enough's enough? Yes, absolutely. "Look at the players we've lost - Thommo, Danny, Nacho, Boydy, Stevie, DaMarcus. Have I missed anyone? "That's a lot of squad players to lose without being replaced. "You'd have to say it's time to start replacing them now rather than losing any more. "Do the people behind the scenes at the bank appreciate that? I hope so, I really hope so." McCoist insists they will NOT just sign players for the sake of it. He said: "Looking at the lads we've lost, it's safe to say we'd like to get one or two in. "We will do that, we'll definitely do that. "There is absolutely no point in just getting bodies to make up the numbers. You've got to get the right bodies. "If that takes time then so be it but I feel for the fans. They will be sitting asking: 'Where are the new signings?' "We have to get it right for them." Coisty hopes kid Wilson doesn't regret turning his back on regular football at Ibrox to join Liverpool. He added: "If I was Danny my view would have been to get another year's experience at Rangers." If we can start the season with a pool of 20 players and have some of the young players breaking through to add to the first team I will be happy ehough with that tbh. Our debt is reducing all the time, although why it was allowed to get that bad in the first place is disgraceful and should never have been allowed to happen. But at the end of the day we are STILL the champions and believe we can/will compete to retain the title. The BHEASTS are desperately trying to build a team to win it back from us, but I'm not too worried about them. Onwards and upwards, we are the champions and we welcome the chase

Boyd was offered £18,000 a week and £4000 a game. He knocked it back. Nobody has mentioned this quote above from the Bain article!!!. How can he turn down such an offer from the club he is supposed to support????. I think Boyd will regret this move, hopefully.
