Waiting for the BHEASTS to enter the bidding for him

The main site says he will be out for 2-3 weeks Craig, not as bad as first thought. Ness & Wylde are reported to have played really well, and possibly ready for the 1st team step up

Rapid Vienna say they have yet to receive any realistic offers for Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic amid interest from Rangers. GettyImages Nikica Jelavic is keen on moving to Ibrox Jelavic, who scored twice for Rapid in their Europa League qualifier against Beroe on Tuesday, said this week that he was eager to seal a move to Ibrox. However, Rapid's sporting director, Alfred Hortnagl, has now suggested he does not expect to sell Jelavic, 24, as he has yet to receive a satisfactory offer. "Unless we receive a concrete offer that meets our valuation, Jelavic will certainly remain with us," he told Sportnet.at. "We haven't received any offers that would force us to make a decision." David Moyes was reported to have been to the Gerhard-Hanappi Stadion to look at Jelavic but Hortnagel said he knows nothing of Everton's reported interest. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=811717&sec=transfers&cc=5739

AIDEN McGEADY will wreck Neil Lennon's spending plans if he snubs a £9.5million move to Moscow. McGeady was in the Russian capital last night for contract talks with Spartak. The wantaway Celtic winger will miss tonight's Champions League rescue mission with Braga as he ponders the record-breaking switch. Hoops boss Lennon admitted the 24-year-old was "apprehensive" about going to Moscow. And Lennon knows there is no guarantee that the Republic of Ireland ace will agree to the switch. But he confessed that McGeady's sale holds the key to the final part of his sensational summer rebuild. Lennon still wants a new keeper, left-back, centre-half and striker before the transfer window shuts. Asked if incoming deals hung on McGeady's departure he said: "Probably yes because I won't have nine and a half million quid! I'd like to think we'd get all of it if he did go. "What comes in goes back out on the football side. That's been made clear. "I think we need a couple of areas to improve the squad. But I don't think it'll take all that money to do that. It's up to me whether I spend that amount or not." McGeady travelled to Moscow with his agent and girlfriend yesterday. Spartak are a club in turmoil after plunging to eighth place in the Russian League. Coach Valeri Karpin could be sacked if they lose to leaders Zenit St Petersburg this weekend. Owner Leonid Fedun has been besieged by angry fans demanding he secures McGeady's signature. But Lennon remains far from convinced that the winger will sign for Spartak. He said: "He's in Moscow - that's as much as I know. "He was a wee bit apprehensive but he's gone to have a look at the facilities and the stadium and see what Moscow can offer him. "As far as I know he was travelling today to speak to Moscow and have a look at the club and the surroundings and take things from there. "This has dragged on a bit longer than what we wanted. "I'd like to think we'd get a definitive idea after this. "I need to have a chat with him and see how he is. Does he still want to be here? Does he still want to play here? We'll have to take all that into consideration. "He may want to play in the Premiership but you can't always get what you want." EVERTON plan to make a last-ditch bid to nick Nikica Jelavic from Rangers. Boss Davie Moyes watched the giant Rapid Vienna hitman in action against Red Bull Salzburg on Sunday. And the Merseysiders were represented again last night as Jelavic hit a double to send Rapid through to the Europa League play-off stage in a 3-0 win over Stara Zagora. That could mean serious competition for Gers in their bid to land the £3.5million Croat. A further complication is that Jelavic will be cup-tied in Europe if he plays for Rapid in the next round and Vienna chiefs are adamant he will feature. Gers, though, are determined to continue their pursuit of the 24-year-old, who has already made it clear he fancies a switch to Ibrox. They hope to clinch a deal in the next week and after his strikes last night Jelavic beamed: "I'm delighted with my goals, but I am ready to take on a new challenge." If he opts for Ibrox former Croat hero Dado Prso insists he will be a hit... as the NEW Prso. He said: "I saw him play for the Croatian national team a couple of times over the past year or so and I have been really impressed. "Like myself, he arrived in international football a little bit later than some of the others, but you can see his potential. "He is tall and strong on the ball, he can hold it up and bring other players into the game and he can score goals. "His biggest strengths are his courage and work rate. He isn't afraid to go into 50-50s and get hurt. Advertisement "You could say his mentality and his style of play would be very well suited to Scottish football. "I always gave everything for the team, I see similarities with Nikica. "But he's not just a targetman, he's a more complete player than that. "I'm sure Jelavic would be a good signing for Rangers. I wouldn't have any doubts about him." Read more: http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3080658/Everton-show-interest-in-Rangers-target-Nikica-Jelavic.html#ixzz0vaSo29KA

Dado Prso and the Rangers support held a mutual respect for one another. His three years in Glasgow culminated in an enforced, and tearful, farewell on the Ibrox turf ââ?¬â?? and the Croatian admits he was surprised to see Kris Boyd and Nacho Novo end their Rangers careers prematurely. Prso enjoyed a cult-hero status with the Ibrox faithful thanks to his skill, determination and goalscoring exploits, forming a formidable partnership with Novo, pictured, as Alex McLeishââ?¬â?¢s side won the SPL title on the final day of the 2004/05 season. But when a chronic knee injury meant that he was unable to give his all for the club and supporters he had taken to his heart, the striker left the Gers and ended his days as a professional to a guard of honour from his colleagues in light blue. But the two men who have since followed in his footsteps moved on under different circumstances. Boydââ?¬â?¢s departure to Middlesbrough and Novoââ?¬â?¢s to Sporting Gijon were perhaps the two biggest losses of the summer for the champions, and Prso reckons they should have stayed as Rangers players for life. He said: "I was surprised to see Boyd and Nacho leave Rangers. "I would have said to both of them to stay at Rangers. When you are with Rangers, you play for a great club with great supporters and at a great stadium. "In football, that is what you need. Money is always there, you will always get money in football today, you will get a little bit more or a little bit less. "But to find a place where you can enjoy your football like this is very rare. There are not a lot of places like that in the world." Despite his surprise at the pairââ?¬â?¢s decision to move on, the big Croat believes his former side will cope. "They have gone and now Rangers must continue to win without them, and I hope they will. I think Rangers will always be favourites for the title." :robbo: :spl:

RANGERS target Nikica Jelavic last night begged Rapid Vienna to let him join the SPL champs. Ibrox boss Walter Smith has already had an offer of £2million plus add-ons rejected by Rapid Vienna for the Croat hitman. Jelavic, 24, has now told Rapid he wants to quit Austria for Ibrox and Gers will this week put together a new deal which could eventually rise to £3.5m. Jelavic said: "I was informed about Rangers' interest in me and I really want to go."Rapid are a great side and I have enjoyed my time here but I have paid them back well with goals and I deserve the chance to go. It has always been my dream to play in Britain and Rangers are a big club with tradition. I would love to play there." Gers chief executive Martin Bain has been locked in talks with Rapid for over a week. They have so far rejected all bids for the striker, who scored at Celtic Park in last season's Europa League. Jelavic will lead the Rapid attack in a Europa League qualifier tomorrow. If Rapid lose the tie Jelavic could still play for Gers in the Champions League. If the Austrians win, and also win in the knockout round, he'll be cup-tied for the Champions League. Gers could gamble on Rapid losing in the knockout round, where they WON'T be seeded, but it's understood the SPL champs feel they can't wait to see if Rapid progress to the group phase. Boss Smith is determined Jelavic will lead the Gers attack in the Champions League and could increase the bid to £3.5m to secure his signature. From the Sun

It's the only free date before the group games begin. It's quite a strong looking squad, if Levein can get them buzzing Scotland might have a wee chance of qualifying??. Although I hope none of the Rangers players play in this friendly!!
-
No doubt it is a worry, but we've all known that EVERY player is up for sale until we get the mess sorted out.

5-6m for Davis and Fleck to replace him in CM:)

I think this is the only free date for the Scotland squad to get together before the first group game
