Rangers' Jamie Ness named SPL young player of the month

And why would he be dropped ? -
Craig,I'll try and be as honest as I can.................................the BHEASTS are shite. Only joking,no I'm not,DUTD were well in the game and could easily have got a draw. DUTD were 2-0 down, due to two deflections, before they started to have a go at the BHEASTS. So it was the second half before they had a real go at the BHEASTS,Goodwillie pulled a goal back and then had another chance to get the equaliser, and eventually lost the 3rd goal near the end.DUTD are not a good side,IMO,yet had a lot of posession and did put the BHEASTS under pressure for long spells in the second half. I'm looking forward to next weeks visit to the Peadodome, bring it on

Jamie Ness has been rewarded for breaking into the Rangers first-team by being named young player of the month in the Scottish Premier League. The 19-year-old midfielder made his league debut as a substitute in a 4-1 win over Motherwell on 26 December. He went on to play six games - Rangers won four and lost two - during January, leading to his Clydesdale Bank award. The Scotland Under-19 international had been poised to join Third Division side Clyde before breaking through at Ibrox. Ness was rested by Rangers manager Walter Smith for Saturday's 6-0 win over Motherwell. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/9396241.stm

AYR United under 19s face their biggest test of the season on Sunday when they host Rangers in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Youth Cup. Rangers are a SFL Performance level side and have made the final for the past five years, only being beaten by Celtic last year. The tie, at Somerset Park, kicks off at 2pm. Due to the numbers expected, stewards are required and as such there will be a £3 entry fee although children are free. The charge will include a half-time draw ticket. Johnny Hubbard MBE will also be in attendance as The Football Academyâs guest after his years of service to football in Ayr. The 19s seemed to have one eye on the Rangers clash when they lost in a seven goal thriller to Montrose at Prestwick Academy. There were places for 17s players Cammy Marlow, recent convert Lee Lockhart and new player Ian Aitken. Normal starters Roddy Paterson, Dale Moore, Sean Kelly, Robbie Crawford, JJ Hawkshaw and Gareth Armstrong were sidelined, whether through injuries or protection for this weekend. Aitken fired Ayr ahead in eight minutes and Scott Johnston added a second soon after. But despite being in control, they lost two goals just on the interval. Ayr brought on Paterson and 16s player, Mark Shankland to shake things up but it was Montrose who edged ahead. Aitken equalised with his second goal but Montrose grabbed the winner despite keeper Darryl Jones being seemingly fouled. The 15s beat Kilmarnock in a cracker at Prestwick Academy. Ryan Nisbett missed two great chances before he eventually made the breakthrough with a clinical finish from 15 yards. Under 14s Reece Lappin and Sean McKenzie were introduced and both played a big part. In the third period, Sean McKenzie had a goal ruled offside before Killie equalised. Ayr finished the game stronger and scored the winner in the dying seconds when Steven McCarrison latched on to a loose ball in the box and buried the ball into the corner. Fixtures: Friday: 13s v Kilmarnock (Almswall Park, Kilwinning, 6.30pm). Sunday: 14s v Rangers (Murray Park), 15s v Rangers (Belmont Academy, noon), 16s v Rangers (Belmont Academy, 2pm), 19s v Rangers (Somerset Park, 2pm). Big game for the wee Rangers, good luck lads

Ross County have sacked manager Willie McStay after just nine games in charge at Victoria Park. The decision was made after Saturday's goal-less draw at home to the First Division's bottom side Stirling Albion. The former Celtic coach failed to win a single game in league and cup competition following his appointment in November last year. The club's director of football, George Adams, has taken temporary charge of team matters. McStay replaced Adams' son, Derek, as County manager following his predecessor's move to assist Colin Calderwood at Hibernian. A recruitment process by the board to identify and appoint a new manager will begin straight away Ross County statement The 49-year-old had recently returned to Scotland after a spell managing Hungarian side Ujpesti Dozsa, with whom Celtic were developing a working relationship. But his departure from the Dingwall club comes after a post-match discussion with chairman Roy McGregor in the wake of the draw with Jocky Scott's Albion. It left McStay with a league record of four draws and three defeats with the two Scottish Cup ties against Dundee United making up his nine-game tenure. A statement on the County website said: "The board would like to express their thanks to Mr McStay for his commitment and effort during his time at the club and wish him well for the future. "A recruitment process by the board to identify and appoint a new manager will begin straight away. "In the meantime, the club's director of football, George Adams, will assist with the running of first team affairs." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/ross_county/9396209.stm

If????? there is a take over and whoever takes over will decide if Ally takes up the managers post,I don't think he would turn down the chance to manage Rangers to go to sky
-
I thought the guy showed up well today, strong, pacey, and considering he is a CB I was impressed by his performance today, that is the first time I've seen him play, showed enough to me that he could easily step into the CB position if he was called on.Good debut for the guy and I'm looking forward to seeing him more often from now on.
