The Founders Trail first took to the streets of Glasgow in 2009. Our core objective is to give people an understanding of what Rangers Football Club is and why it means so much to so many people around the world. We literally have a story like no other. During the course of the Trail we highlight how those wonderful traits that we associate with our Club, hard work, discipline, honesty, integrity and fair play were the very foundation stones that our Club was built upon ,these were put in place by our Founders on Fleshers Haugh in 1872. We show how our Club is woven into the very fabric of our city Glasgow. A couple of weeks ago we were invited to a meeting with the Club where they informed us that they are very keen to get the Founders Trail involved with the Rangers Overseas Development Project. This wonderful initiative regularly brings groups from all over the world into Glasgow where kids, parents and grandparents get to sample the unique Rangers experience. The Club has groups from Asia visiting over the coming months. The kids train at Auchenhowie, take in a match when possible, and visit local attractions. We’re delighted to say that the Founders Trail is now going to be part of this package. We’ll take our visitors on our journey around Glasgow and tell of how a group of kids came into the town from the Scottish countryside and formed on a spare bit of ground what was to become the world’s most successful football club. We’ll visit Fleshers Haugh, the West of Scotland Cricket Club, Burnbank, Kinning Park, Craigton Cemetery and Ibrox for the Stadium Tour. This is a hugely important and positive step not only for the Founders Trail but Rangers Football Club and we’re delighted to be involved. Our wonderful Founders story is going global.

The McNeil family plots at Craigton Cemetery Glasgow were discovered back in 2008. The grave of Alexander McNeil was the only plot that was marked with a stone, those of Founder Peter McNeil and his brother James were unmarked. In 2013, after consultation with the McNeil family, funds were raised via the Rangers support and two memorial stones placed. Our restoration team have since put in new foundations for the Alexander McNeil plot, cleaned and this week re-lettered the stone. Alexander McNeil’s family made contact with us last year whom we have since met. The plots are as follows: Plot 500. Alexander McNeil and his family. Plot 501. Founder Peter McNeil. His brother and Rangers team mate William. Parents John and Jean. Plot 502 James McNeil His wife Lucy Ann and son Brodie. This completes the work on the McNeil family plots. Donations to the Restoration of Rangers Graves Project can be made here on our website. https://www.thefounderstrail.co.uk/the-restoration-of-rangers-graves

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us on the Founders Trail on Saturday and on our annual trip to Rosneath on Sunday. It was great to see so many old friends and meet so many new. We had a predictable Glasgow Fair holiday weekend, soaked on the Saturday and sun burnt on the Sunday. Both were cracking days out and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did. Thanks again for your continued support. Iain and Gordon. http://i65.tinypic.com/ayr84.jpg[/img

The Restoration of Rangers Graves Project. Thank you.
The Moonlighter posted a topic in Rangers Chat
Before yesterday’s Founders Trail fellow supporter George Ramsay very kindly donated this framed jersey signed by the Helicopter Sunday squad to the Restoration of Graves Project. A wonderful gesture and thank you so much. We raffled the jersey during our Tour break in Partick and it raised the incredible amount of £325. A further donation of £10 was made by Ibrox Tour guide Norman. Every penny will go to the Restoration Project. Thank you. Donations to the project can be made here on our website. https://www.thefounderstrail.co.uk/the-restoration-of-rangers-graves -
Once again a huge thanks to everyone who joined us today on the Founders Trail. The Scottish summer that never fails to deliver couldn't put a dampener on what was a brilliant day out. We follow followed in every step from Fleshers Haugh to Ibrox.

Today we at the Founders Trail will once again have the privilege of telling the greatest sporting story of all. A wonderful tale of four kids who came to Glasgow from the Scottish countryside and formed , solely for the love of football and the pursuit of sporting excellence, what was to become the world’s most successful football club.
