Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

I'm on phone so can't click agree, you are not paranoid imo mate, that's a pretty fair and valid evaluation in my eyes. -

I agree with you on that point Germinal, and it's a point well worth making. Scottish society and more in particular certain parts of its chattering classes do, it would seem, hold football and its followers in very sincere contempt. In my case my feeling is that when it comes to all things Rangers it goes far deeper than that. When we look at recent events and further back it is not just contempt, there is a deep rooted resentment that is thrust in our direction at every given opportunity. The reasons for that have also been very well documented in various posts that have been discussed on here recently. It seems we have reached a tipping point, Saturday was a wake up call for everyone, contempt yes, no doubt, however it runs much deeper into to the realms of hatred and dehumanisation that have been discussed previously. -

Germinal, nobody is suggesting importing the politics of NI, I had suggested it would be unsurprising if a party not unlike the DUP which is pro unionist evolved politically in Scotland. The politics of NI are completely different for obvious reasons. It is clearly evident we need a viable and electable alternative to the nationalist party and at the moment we do not have one and are therefore becoming marginalised. As you say though, not every Rangers supporter disagrees with the SNP's stance, and that is perfectly natural in a democracy, however there is a majority, I would argue, that find the SNP are their rhetoric distasteful to say the least. Anyway, I have gone off topic, apologies. -

There is most certainly a political vacuum 26th, and on that I would be incredible surprised if there are not many others who have noticed. There has been an earthquake that had left a gaping hole where we need a party that will pick the best of labour and conservative in Scotland and become a viable alternative to the SNP's political arrogance. A party not unlike the DUP in NI perhaps?. It would not be unsurprising to see a Scottish Unionist Party emerge for example, and many would argue not before time. -
There is no doubt they use the term H*n to describe Protestants and not just Rangers fans. I'm bewildered as to why it makes a difference?? Maybe we should ask if it's OK to use Fe***n as long as we are directing it towards Celtic supporters that are not Catholic?? I think not! There is deep rooted bigotry and hatred of not only Rangers but also many of the large section of society that follows the club and those connected with the club.

I notice the line has mellowed slightly from the MD, I hope this is not the start of the club backtracking and cowering to this lot? We mustn't let this happen. This will become one heck of a stich up, they are already reeking of misinformation and collusion in an attempt to fabricate what happened on Sunday. We must keep on top of this, what happens the next time before we take this corrupt little place to task?? Will some poor supporter have to lose their life or that of a loved one before we manage to show the world what's happening here? Sunday was a very very lucky escape as the incompetence and arrogance of what we term Plod Scotland is breathtaking as is their suggested collusion with those in the corridors of power. Players were physically assaulted at their work and they are spinning this tangled web of deceit.

I am absolutely raging!! I know a lot were not in that crowd he is addressing, I was, the exact convoy he is indicating. Nobody put themselves in the way of vans, or kids, people were CROSSING THE ROAD, therefore they would be in front of the vans. There were thousands leaving at the one time, this was inevitable as people streamed away from the ground. Why wasn't there anyone halting people from crossing to allow them easier access if that were the case?? I can assure everyone it was nothing like NI. There is cameras all over that area, if this is true show us the evidence?? This is unbelievable?? What's happening?? Apologies for the capital letters, I am so angry. This is just lies!.
-
That is absolute lies!! I was in that crowd walking past those vans, convoy of about 10 vans went past(sorry wasn't counting maybe more) people were NOT standing in the way, they were clapping sarcastically and yes some did give some hand gestures which is hardly surprising given their incompetence. I don't know anyone on here so don't know who reads this. I had a child with me as did others. This article is lies, dammed LIES!! Nobody that I saw put their kids at risk?? Are we really going to accept this?? I'm sure most of you know my feeling on plod, now you know why!!

Scottish Cup Final: Man in court over Rangers keeper charge

Deeply ashamed?? Aye right! He was so deeply ashamed his mother was boasting on Twitter with the #Legend. I really don't know where to start? -
Was watching Peter and Roughies love in last night and it would seem, according to Alan Rough that there is indeed a chance they may have their EL spot taken away. It's definitely on the table. That for me is the appropriate punishment because you can bet you bottom dollar if it was us, our feet wouldn't touch the ground.

Official: Joey Barton signs 2 year deal with Rangers
cooponthewing replied to cooponthewing's topic in Rangers Chat
Let's hope he lives up to the hype? Potentially a very good strategic signing. Should bring much needed steel to the team. If we could keep Dom Ball and sign a CH plus one more utility player we are not to far off the mark. Could still be looking for another couple though? -
George Watson’s College coach denies Hampden Park violence
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It wouldn't surprise me if certain politicians knew they were part of the problem, it wouldn't say much for them politically if they didn't. I also suspect other fans are aware of this so therefore expect to have carte blanche to behave in any derogatory or offensive way they see fit when they encounter Rangers fans or Unionists and they feel they have an axe to grind. We must keep the pressure on and not forget Saturday's scenes, funnily enough my neice seems to be over it however my sister who was with us that day too says she will never be at a game away from Ibrox again, she got one hell of a fright(probably because I left her while dragging my neice out. Priorities lol) -
Just read your post Pete. Fantastic piece of writing and hits the nail on the head.

Craig, that's brutal?? It's to late for me to start ranting about plod, useless, toothless and too many fish suppers. Just when you think it can't get any lower.

I have just had a wee look on here before I turn in, only to find a HOBO on here!! Everyone knows how I feel about them, I know I am new on here but please ban the pondlife. I just dont get it? Why come on here? Really? Get a life!!

Hibernian yet to respond to Rangers following pitch violence
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I wouldn't be looking for any decency from that lot. The mans an idiot. Anyone with a shred of decency would already have apologised and resigned. -
Listening to phone in on Clyde on bus. DJ and Keevins saying they expect a one year ban from SC. Thats it?. Disgraceful token gesture that means nothing and will not punish the club financially, which is where it would be most effective. Should be thrown out of Europe as they are not fit to represent their country, fans or club.
-
Agree with you mate, your spot on about evidence, not making accusations just voicing an opinion. Proof required. On that evidence based note, I'm off to my Uni course this evening lads. Mature student and all that lol.?

Bearing in mind 75% of Hibs allocation went to those who were not known to the club I think it's fair to say that there is a probability that their were others among them who may not have been what we would consider regular followers of Hibs. A fair chance some could have been Celtic fans given the location of Hampden and the two clubs connection.
-
No sign of that lot been denied access to European competition then. I wonder if we would have been allowed to compete and represent our country if 5-10k Bears had run on to the park and attacked Hibs players and staff?? Yeh... we all know the answer. I still maintain the club should make a stance and ban away fans from Ibrox. I also don't think we should accept away tickets. If we accept away tickets and something happens such as our fans are goaded, assaulted etc we know the media would spin it the big bad Rangers and we get hit. If however we don't accept away tickets, all clubs would have to sell to fans directly and the club could not be held responsible for any stich up that may occur.
-
I also saw the disgraceful way which fans were brushed aside and ignored 15mins after the final whistle when they decided to turn up in their vans. I take it they were not informed of the thousands of fans breaking the law and couldn't manage to appear any faster?. I know there are some who will not hear a bad word against plod, I wholeheartedly disagree with that stance.
