I concur with your sentiments entirely Craig. Couldn't agree more and will do the same.

I'm with you on that 100% MacK!. I was always going to get a kids one, but not now. I was actually just looking at a Pink one(not for me I hasten to add) from lion brand for the new season. I honestly have completely changed my opinion. Funnily kids grow up so quick as when I explained it all to the neice her reply was "if we're not getting any money, no chance" lol. I hope all bears follow suit, I don't feel there is any reason for anyone to not be in full possession of the facts now and I would not be able to comprehend why anyone would want to give the fat man 95p in every £1 they spent?. I know the two outlets you mention both give the club their fair share(I think lionbrand is a £10, not sure about founders, however I am sure it will be of similar amount) money that goes to the club and not in the pocket of the pie theif!
-
This is brutal! I'm really torn as to what to do?? Always buy my neice the top, however, if there is no guidance from the club indicating that the sales will go to Rangers then I won't be buying her one. It's very sad but necessary. Hopefully it will only be for a season and in future it will be remembered as a positive.

William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round | Rangers v Kilmarnock | Sunday 30 November – 12.45pm kick off | Season Ticket Holder price – Adult £17, Concession £12 and Juniors £4 | General sale prices – Adult £18, Concession £13 and Juniors £5 (More info here) I knew I had seen it somewhere! Eureka lol. we did get a very small discount previously, only a £1 however for me its the gesture to acknowledge the loyalty of ST holders. Ah well.
-
maybe I'm losing my mind BH? Could have sworn we had a £2 discount?? Anyway, I actually thought the £15 price was very reasonable, the same as the group stage. I had thought they may increase it, and to be fair, you couldn't really argue. £15 for the last 16 of a cup competition is great value:thup:

The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread
cooponthewing replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I notice Anton Ferdinand is out of contract. He is 31 and 6ft. I know he has had a few clubs and not altogether sure of his history? Reece Brown spent time at Man Utd and last club was Bury. 24 and 6'2" out of contract? There is certainly plenty of central defenders out of contract, surely we can get someone in that fits the bill?? -
Just going on and sign up now. Maximum bet is only £10 though:( however it should be( no counting chickens) a free £10:cool2:
-
I had noticed during the Betfred matches that we no longer get a slight discount for being an ST holder?. I had thought it was maybe an oversight. IIRC last year when it was £15 we got it for £13, I know it isn't much, and appreciate I sound like a tight arse, I don't mind paying the money. It was more the gesture from the club to ST holders, acknowledging their importance tbh. I suspect all that's gone out the window. So before I get "slaughtered" for moaning lol I am only pointing it out. Any thoughts??

I would hope that after ditching the retail contract with the fat man, that all applicable cash flow and profit would remain with the club. I don't see anything on the Greaves sports website though?

American Peh! Deal for Dundee v Celtic game in USA 85% complete
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That is a great idea uilleam! Windsor park and the following we have in NI would be a fantastic place to play a fixture. Being honest though, I feel that we could reach a wider audience perhaps somewhere in Europe or in North America? I don't know though, it would certainly have a high profile, worldwide, should we play a league fixture in NI at Windsor park. It's certainly a cracking suggestion in my eyes? -

Yup. Paddys day celebrations in the States with all the rest of their bitter yahoo brethren. We have had quite a large Dutch connection and also in certain parts of England, and in North America we have close ties. GS in spot on, we must have parity and afforded a trip not to tynecastle or sheep land but to one of these money spinning venues. -
Rangers can win the Premiership title this season...
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Totally agree about Kranjar. He was one of the ones I felt looked uninterested or I guess "off the pace" is slightly kinder. I'm not going to alter my thinking, no matter if, maybe realistically, some feel its expecting too much. As a Rangers supporter since birth, as my family and generations before were, I will not and can't except second best. Our club is built on a history of excellence and pioneering in both a footballing and social sense. I will go into this season with the same high expectations as I always do. Rightly or wrongly, we are The Rangers. Second is last. -
A lot of whats being discussed as to how people would react to an amount of goading in a that situation is a very subjective issue. I feel it is also influenced in that instance by where you were situated on that day and the circumstances that applied. Let's remember if Police Scotland had done their job properly and were not now accused of being incompetent by standing and watching all this happen we possibly wouldn't be having this conversation. I am quite vocal on this as I was so close to it and had a minor with me. On one of my posts yesterday I had indicated that some would feel it justified to challenge someone who they felt was putting their child or a child they were guarding, while at the match, in danger or they felt they may be attacked. I stand by that, luckily as I have said, I was half way up the stair after the final whistle when we seen thousands swarm onto the pitch from the Hibs end and many jump around the bottom of the main stand where we had been sitting, goading and intimidating disabled and many other Rangers fans. It's also very hard to paint a picture as the TV companies decided not to show what happened. Believe me if they did everyone would be in no doubt as to the behaviour of Hibs fans in that 5-10 minute period where police Scotland stood back and let all hell break loose.

I tend to agree with a lot of what limeburner is saying, tbh i and many others have been going on and on about the defence for months. I also am very apprehensive about our potential challenging credentials should we not bolster out defence. The problem is finding the right fit, so to a degree I agree with MW however I also see merit in the argument that a quality CH should have been a lot higher on MW priority list. Maybe it was and things just didn't work out, but I also again agree there is an argument to say we should have, if needed, spent some money on a good CH. It may well com back to haunt us, I can see us loosing a lot of goals this year, I have said all this before, I think for many yesterday's result just reinforced the fears that have been languishing under the surface for many. We also must be more clinical in front of goal, I do fear however that it may be our defensive frailties that my be the weakness that others will target.

League Cup Last 16: Rangers v Peterhead (Tues 9th Aug - KO 7.45pm)
cooponthewing replied to buster.'s topic in Rangers Chat
All they did was kick us up and down the park in the Petro cup final last year, plus break the leg of Harry Forrester!. We havnt got much to look forward too, except maybe another few on the wounded list after they forget there is a ball of on the pitch again. It was as a case of "if you can't get the man, get the ball" IIRC in the final from them. -

cup draw is immediately after Dundee Utd game today, so be about 5ish. -
I don't know if it's as easy as we think to find a competent quality CH?. Hill I felt was appalling and slow yesterday, so bad in fact, that DW and RK looked an accomplished comfortable pairing when DW came on in my he second half. I understand his point re not just going out and buying anyone, as frustrating as that is.

Scottish Cup Final: Police release images of 13 men
cooponthewing replied to JFK-1's topic in Rangers Chat
We should all find out what the independent (ahem??) commission has ruffled up today, and what conclusions they have reached. I really hope if they do a number on us the club fight them all the way over it. Players were assaulted. If they cover this up, it won't stop until the unthinkable happens. Just madness. -
I was thinking the exact same thing during the game today when they were playing us off the park. It's not the size of our club that's holding us back it's the location of where we ply our trade. We have to get out of Scotland to compete. In all honesty if the big clubs do carve up the champions league then that gives ourselves and others the green light for a North Atlantic League scenario. Th financial climate here is killing our club, draining it of any hope of contention in Europe with the big boys, if we are honest. We could end up playing against top clubs from Holland, Denmark, Portugal, Sweden, Norway and possibly Iceland etc. It's either that or the lower tier clubs would form some sort of European second division. An evolution of the Europa league perhaps. Anyway, either way, the money would be far superior and more befitting a club of our stature.

[FT] Rangers 1 (Mee og 75) - 3 Burnley (Gray 5 pen, 17, 53)
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I was worried it could end up 4 or 5 today, make no mistake, if Burnley had felt like it, they could have walked past our central defence! I'm still going to stay positive, I believe if we can sort out the middle of our shambolic defence we are in with a great shout of competing and winning the championship. Today it could be argued was a mixture of coming up against a side who were clearly better quality however I also thought we didn't look up for it and were heavy legged and disinterested. As many have pointed out it look like a lot of the team were just out for a stroll in the park or a kick about with their mates. -

Rossiter was seeing things way ahead of everyone else. You could see it and it stood out. He's a class act. He wouldn't look out of place in a premiership side, but then he has come from Liverpool.
