BBC - Figures, facts and stats about Scottish football.

The club was Not liquidated, the business was. You can't liquidate a football club as its a separate entity alongside the business. A club can disband for example. The club should take them to task over this. That's all they understand. Let's hope none of that lot ever set foot in Ibrox again. -
I agree with tbh on my his. When we have possession (which is usually the majority) we frequently line up 3-5-2 however we can begin 4-14-1 or 4-2-3-1?? We also play a false no nine which helps us have a very fluid and ever changing formation, depending on circumstances or stage of the game.

The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

Nobody I suspect will come out and say the guy has failed a medical as that would put a move to any other suitor in jeopardy. We need to remember it has been reported that he failed a medical with Rangers, that doesn't mean to say his fitness would not be adequate for another possible club that may fancy him? Its not like taking a driving test, what one club deem to be ok will be different to another club for example. Its all speculation tbh as only a few know what really happened? One way or another it would seem he isn't coming to us. Senderos was given a return ticket by the club when he went away for a few days, hopefully he will come in and do a good job, no reason why he shouldn't be able to cut it in the SPFL. -
It certainly will be at this rate pmsl.

To say Kiernan is better than Wilson is indeed like saying "dumb is only slightly better than dumber". I've had to up my beta blocker dosage I receive from my GP this season! By January I could be taking tranquillisers to attend matches lol.

I feel those who are either in charge of these rags or work for them, know their time is running out. The written media and especially downmarket rags and all those employed by them will be a distant memory in not to long. They have nothing to lose and staring the abyss in the face can no longer hide their rabid like hatred for Rangers and those in our society who are associated with and follow our club. Having tried to kill us off and now facing us growing and becoming stronger their fear and levels of anxiety will reach new heights. They will throw everything they can to demonise and discredit us to stop the spotlight being shone on their bigoted hate filled behaviour.

Just catching up on all the news. Financially I wouldn't be overly concerned. There will be another ST increase of around 10-20% next season which if it was 20%, we couldn't complain. I suspect we will cash in on a few players at the end of the season and it looks like our retail position will become much healthier shortly. All in all things are looking very bright and I don feel in any way we are over stretching. Then again, I'm not running the club? -

3-1 Rangers. FGS Mckay. -
Pmsl...Yeh I had actually written the peice and was proof reading it before submission when I noticed how it would read lol, I have now stuck a question mark in the relevant place. I had a wee look at some highlights of that day too last night. We certainly achieved great things with limited resources under AM while downsizing at the time.

I tell you what. Those in political and policing power don't half pull some crackers out their arse in this country! I would like nothing more than to see that mob arrested for criminality however I would like to see them try prosecute anyone for waving a national flag, of any kind? I know exactly what the mhanky mob were up too in waving the national flag, and there was one other in particular that they could be arrested for waving (how it got past the stewards??) however re national flags... Where do they get these ideas from?. Anyone would be well within their rights to take shortbread towers to the ECHR who would, after picking their jaw off the floor, chastise we nippy and her cohorts and tell her to toe the line or there will be no potential EU watered down/half cut membership for her! IIRC they tried similar guff re Union Flags and Red Hand Flags, until my very point above was mentioned in their bigoted little meetings.

March 20th 2005 was the friendly cup final. It was the CIS Insurance Cup final v Motherwell at Hampden Park. I remember it quite clearly as I had managed to get a brief for my sister at the last minute and we were both behind the goal. It was a great cup final with some magnificent talent on show such as Novo, Prso, Kyrgiakos, Alex Rae and Fernando Ricksen to name but a few? Rangers would go onto win the match 5-1, it was also played in memory of the late great Davie Cooper, who was a servant to both clubs during his wonderful life and career. Things have changed and we have been through challenging times over the last few years and we meet Motherwell for the second time this season with our club in a good place and looking to build on our present position at the top of the SPFL where we sit with six points. The clubs have faced each other a total of 265 times with Rangers winning 184 of them (4 at neutral venues) Motherwell 38 and 43 draws. The most recent of these fixtures was the very first competitive meeting of the season at Fir Park where, after a shaky 15 minute spell at the start of the match, Rangers were to run out comfortable 2-0 winners in the end thanks to strikes from Tavernier 48' and Waghorn 90+1'. There is no doubt the steelmen will come to Ibrox looking for revenge after their defeat at our hands in the Betfred cup, and after suffering the humiliation of a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of last year’s losing Scottish cup semi-finalists, in the Betfred cup a few weeks ago, Mark McGhee will no doubt make sure his outfit are 100% focused on their match with Rangers. The former Celtic star will relish the chance to inflict damage on our title aspirations. What they can expect is a full Ibrox, 50,000 Rangers fans looking for another three points on or quest for number 55. I'm hoping by the time Saturday comes we may have signed another striker, Joe Garner from PNE and are still hopeful of another CH possible Joleon Lescot or Phillipe Senderos? There is no doubt the centre of defence is of paramount importance for us to strengthen. Rob Kiernan, Danny Wilson and the recently signed Clint Hill will all give 100%, however it is felt by many that for both Kiernan and Wilson, the step up, is a step too far. We require a solid foundation and one which we will hope we could find with one of the two possible acquisitions mentioned above. None of the above potential signings would play any part in proceedings this Saturday and I expect we will start with a slightly different line up than last Saturday. We will of course look to build on what was a wonderful confidence building 2-1 win last week up at Dens Park in Dundee, with goals from Harry Forrester 14' and Kenny Miller 39' eventually being enough to come away with all three points. We are fantastic going forward, and as we were told by some Brentford fans, Mark Warburton's attacking style is indeed a joy to watch. We play wonderful football the likes of which many of us thought we would never see again, free flowing, open football, attacking down the flanks looking to open up the opposition at any given opportunity. However we do leave ourselves terribly exposed at the back with our team formation resembling that of a 2-5-3 much of the time. I'm not complaining, it’s a wonderful place to be again, discussing football and where we improve, rather than off the field activities. Our club is once again breathing, we have a board at the helm with the interests of the club and its fans at heart. Jordan Rossiter has stood out way in front of everyone else, his vision, appetite and mental awareness of what's around him are way beyond his teenage years. I expect he will once again start in midfield alongside Joey Barton, Barrie Mckay, Niko Kranjcar and Harry Forrester. I feel it’s time that we see how the midfield runs itself with Andy Halliday on the bench. Nothing against Andy Halliday, I just feel we are more productive with the midfield I have mentioned. I feel we could let Rossiter sit in between the back four and the midfield four of Kranjcar, Barton, Mckay and Forrester. This allows the fullbacks to bomb forward and rather than leaving the two centre half's exposed we would have Rossiter sitting as a spare man. This also allows a slightly more liberal role for Barton, although there is certainly an argument that both Barton and Rossiter can play the holding role and could even alternate. Potential line up… Forderingham Tavernier Kiernan Wilson Wallace Rossiter Mckay Barton Kranjcar Forrester Miller It looks like a 4-1-4-1 formation which quickly changes to a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2, depending on how we move the ball around. To me it look like a very solid and fluid formation. One which can provide us with a solid platform to start Saturdays match. I feel for Clint Hill, but it seems Mark Warburton is set on playing both Kiernan and Wilson until we can bring in something which he feels is more suitable. My prediction for this Saturday is comfortable 3-1 victory with Barrie Mckay getting off the score sheet first. I feel we have the quality to outplay the visiting side and will be too strong going forward. Onwards to 55…..

42% is appalling Craig, I havnt researched any figures here however I would suggest we must be one of, if not the worst culprits in Europe here in the UK. As Germinal says we seem to be very backward, verging on an apathy of responsibility to look after those in most need. I have seen "Bin Diving" escalate and people can quite easily feed themselves doing that due to the amount of food waste from supermarkets. So much so that many supermarkets now have locks on the bins!. Makes much more sense than to simply work with charities and help feed those going hungry!???...? I know some European supermarkets have a more liberal, social and let's be honest, downright human attitude to this issue.
-
I've seen a couple of articles on food bank donations in Belgium where the supermarkets proactively get involved and donate there leftover food. Best before dates are just that for example"best before" no reason they can't be eaten. Charity's get involved and the food goes to those most in need. Is there anything similar in Germany Pete? Its absolutely disgraceful here the situation with food waste, especially by supermarkets chains, when we have people resorting to food banks due to various circumstances and supermarket chains are disposing of tons at a time.
-
It's frequently through social workers however GPs may feel a patient was not able to feed themselves and this would affect their health. In other examples a social worker may feel that a person is financially unable to feed themselves or their family etc. Unfortunately the first point of call for people in this situation is frequently their GP or social work dept as they have nowhere left to turn. It makes sense those on the frontline can refer them. It has nothing to do with employment. It's purely based on your ability to feed yourself or your family, financially or otherwise. Other mental health professionals can also refer someone if they can't look after themselves in order to eat properly. These are just a few examples, I could write all day with all of them, however it's important to note that nobody receives cash. It's a voucher system and people will receive vouchers for a food parcel from the food bank. It's not an unlimited supply, and you are limited to three parcels in a set time period(can't remember how long?.) I wasn't having a go at anyone when I said it wasn't understood by some, people have their opinions. It's very unfair imo that the majority who are in dire need are stereotyped as scroungers. Hope that helps Bluedell?
-
Good news, Germinal, and something which you quite rightly say is poorly understood by some. Fwiw anyone using the services of a food bank must be referred there by a GP or Social Worker or mental health professionals etc. If anyone reading this thinks they are scrounging they couldn't be further from the truth. People don't wake up in the morning to decide to go through weeks if not months convincing professionals of their need for a basic food parcel, in many cases it's a starvation saving necessity. Give generously folks, millions are just one pay check away from this scenario too. There are many reasons this horrible scenario could befall anyone.

It's the same with us re Celtic games not on ST if you sit in Broamloan. STs are sold without the mhanks game, but if like me, you wanted the games on it, I just payed the extra at the start of the season. They all knew it wasn't on their ST, just the usual rantings from the disillusioned unwashed, moaning and chancing their arm as usual. They just won't feed their waens for a week. Again......

Rangers Fans blamed for vile graffiti outside Tannadice
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Don't read tabloids, and wouldn't read "The Sun" even if I had to eat a hedgehog!! As for "Fuck u Thomson" being vile? Wow, i have nothing to say to that? We all know what graffiti was sprayed at Ibrox, it says everything about people that work for that rag that they feel "fuck you Thomson" is vile and headline news?? The media in this country print what they want, without concrete evidence, how do they get away with it? Anyway, "He is NOT the messiah, he's a naught naughty boy".....
