Your post at him appeared very critical, and as Lafferty has had something of a love hate relationship with our fans, it was a reasonable comment to suggest you, like quite a lot of Rangers supporters, hated him. You made some quite snarling comments about him, and I felt it implied a strong dislike at best. Do you really, really think we can afford to let a player as good as Lafferty go simply due to a few character flaws? His record for us since the split, as I showed you, of 2010/2011 has been very good. His goal ratio is impressive for such an injury disrupted period. We need to hold onto guys like him, especially in these circumstances where our squad is thinner than Kate Moss.

If we lost Naismith it's for a few million. All about money, which I can accept. But, btw, right now, we have NO decent striker apart from Lafferty. We have Little, Kerkar, McCulloch and Healy. That's our embarrassment of riches up top. Can we just afford to 'get shot' of Lafferty because some of us don't overly rate him?

When played in his correct position, he's scored multiple terrific goals. His form since the split of 2010/2011 has been outstanding, because he got used as a striker. Problem is, earlier in his career with us, and Ally admits this, we were unfair to him playing him out of position on the left wing, a position he's no good at. Most supporters only seem to remember this period, and his occasional lapses in judgement in terms of conduct. When played in his correct position, 2010/2011 during the split, at last, he scored 7 goals in 6 starts. Following season (this one) he scored 7 in 19 injury disrupted appearances. To call him a waste is grossly unfair, not really accurate, and a bit misleading.
