  1. Yep. We signed Tossers, too, but he can't get a game. Must be a total wanker.
  2. 2 -1 is not good enough, against a middling Swiss side, which was down to 10 men for a significant portion of the game. If anybody tries to suggest otherwise, they are either a madman, or a liar.
  3. ...but they will have 11 men for the 90 mins, I should guess.
  4. Well, we can't blame the defenders, for a change, They've coped, and then a forward blunders in....
  5. Just what we don't fucking need!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Good to know we don't hold the copyright.
  7. Man up! Here's the team talk, channelling, I confess, a smidgeon of the First Minister: 'Stand up, and be counted, or fuck off, and never show your face in Govan again!' Now, as for The Rangers.....
  8. Vat I can say is this: I look for a wholly holy, holey defence, that would be, em, mental...
  9. Servette, then? Switzerland, then? Listen up: In Italy, for 23 years under Mussolini, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed......they produced Torino, Juventus, Internazionale, Milan, Roma, and Lazio, and two 2 World Cups. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy, and what did that produce.......? The cuckoo clock.... ...and the odd middling team that can make it difficult for The Rangers.... FFS, lads, channel your inner Italian - Forza Azzurri!!
  10. It means your hand is too shaky to shave. The answer is, soap up, and with razor in hand, jam your elbow into the corner between two of the bathroom walls, and move your face up and down the razor. You're welcome.
  11. Lopetegui, apparently, is leaving The Wolves. They were after Beale last year. He is second in the betting to replace the Spaniard, I'm told (but haven't checked). If...... Potter and Bluenose Reid for Ibrox...
  12. Careful with the Rossini references: he wrote, also, The Barber of Seville, and there was no Hi! Ho! Siverware! there, i I r c.
  13. This is not grounds for optimism (since when was that on a Presbyterian's agenda?), but I am advised by the betting fraternity, which tends to pay close attention to such things, that our record against Swiss opposition is less than fabulous: P8 W2 D3 L3 F 8 A 11 Don't shoot a crossbow at the messenger.
  14. The Scottish Administration bought 22 copies, using taxpayers' money. So I think you could rock up to Holyrood and demand a copy.
  15. KevinThomson reading the speeches of Nicola Sturgeon would be the gift for insomniacs. 22 copies of the lectures are available, in hardback form, somewhere in and among the Scottish Administration/ SNP starship control.
  16. Who is pining after players? I speculated, wildly, I concede, on whether we could have worked a financially more beneficial deal by signing him and doing a back to back with PSV. Now we have Lammers, of course, who has much to prove. My initial thoughts are that he has no pace, and lacks strength, and attitude. Good feet, mind, so might be a great 5 a side player, with a proper referee.
  17. Yeah, a helpful player in that regard, but the received wisdom seems to be that he didn't fancy another season of Scottish hammer throwing, and Scottish refereeing. Thus, he would have been more the conscript than the volunteer.
  18. No. But I feel sure that he read, and inwardly digested, it. Last week.
  19. I received this from a mate of mine via Whatsapp. I don't think he wrote it, just got it and hit the forward button. MB STRATEGY Width from the full-backs pushing on and two number 10's starting in the central areas, one for creativity and one for pace, whilst a mobile striker to offer overloads on the opposition across the front line. One defensive midfielder steps back to split the defence into a 3 to cover for the rampaging full backs. Other defensive midfielder stays central to mop up counter attacks and act as a reset. Everyone else pushes forwards and goes for overloads on the opposition. Seen it five years ago. Didn't work five years ago. Attacking teams will press our full-backs high up the pitch and pin them back. Midfield will then be 1-to-1 against the opposition with no wide passing options so it'll break down here and we pass backwards to go forwards. The "Number 10's" will be covered and out balls to them will be mopped up by simple zones of marking because the defence and midfield cannot break through the press so go direct and the striker will be completely isolated with no support. Defensive teams will keep the central areas compact with a back 5 and a line of 3 shuttling in front of it allowing no space in the central areas, they will cede the wide areas but double up on any full-backs going forward to nullify them. They will then sit deep when we resort to crossed balls and act as a spring if we lose the ball in a central area. One outball, one striker, one chance, one goal, work hard and see out the result.
  20. Think he scored four (4) at the weekend. And, no, we were at Kilmarnock.
