Retaining the red dwarf is rewarding failure. It can only be for financial reasons - paying the bauchle off, "headhunting" a successor, paying compensation and a higher salary than the £400K or thereby presently trousered, to say nothing of the cost of bagging his acolytes, and recruiting replacements. Alternatively, keeping him in situ, may suit, or in some way benefit, Fhilth FC. I wonder what the crowds will be for the next two home games?

Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17

More likely warm congratulations at Assembly, followed by the day off. -
Daniel Prodan has died - 16/11/2016, aged 44
Uilleam replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
His transfer was a rushed affair, to gazump Tottenham Hotspur. Changed days. If I remember correctly, there were questions over the thoroughness of the medical examination, and some suggestion that the medical information/file received from Atletico Madrid was, well, economical with the actualite. For him to die at such a young age is extremely sad, a tragedy for his family and friends. -

That is what, in conversation, we would call "a result". -

Blimey! I thought that last night's events at Wembley exploded the myth of Scott Brown for once and all; apparently not. He was not exposed as a flat track bully (as cricket folk say), but was an aggressive and dominating presence in the midfield. I should have gone to Specsavers, right enough. -
Small minded gestures such as this are unnecessary, and unbecoming. The line has been drawn under Barton's tenure, and Club, and supporters move on. Sponsors, suppliers etc, should do likewise. Sadly, Joey left us little to remember.

if I remember correctly, Angus Cook, owner of Dundee, floated the idea of a merged team, Dundee City or somesuch. He was chased by both sets of fans. Economically, it made sense, and probably still does, but public backing was somewhat lacking. Inverness Caledonian Thistle is a merged club, and, I am told, there are still supporters of the previous clubs loathe to back the new entity. Its poor crowds would seem to support this. Wallace Mercer (remember him) also suggested an Edinburgh merger, though whether in jest or in earnest, was difficult to judge. With football, it seems that economic rationality tends to go out of the window.

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte gets bankruptcy order lifted
Uilleam replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
I could be wrong, but Tcketus advanced monies to Whyte, on the basis of future ticket sales. This cash was held in escrow until the infamous £1 transaction, when it went, without touching the sides, to pay off the £18M debt to Lloyds Banking Group. Later advances were made on yet more future ticket sales. Ticketus , post Whyte's crashing of the company, fell foul of Scots' Law, when the Court decided that it had no claim over the Company's assets, and thus it had to pursue Whyte for recovery. -
I think that there will be managers who believe that they can squeeze performances out of him, like Sean Dyche did, with notable success, at Burnley. But you are right - any manager will have to deal with his attitude, and his motivation. Still, he is gone, the book is closed, and his time at the club is not worth a lengthy post mortem.

Overall, I think that Barton was worth the original punt. It didn't work out, as punts often don't; but we deal with that fact, and we move on, because that is what we do. The media styled "Barton Saga" represents the merest hint of a blip in the history of The Club.

There is a rumour that he is going to join Aston Villa. From The Villain of the Piece to The Villain of the Piece, in one stressful move.

"Lock him up!!"

Such ideas, etc, will, of course, have the approval of Lawwell, rasellik board, Desmond, etc, but will have, as with CQN, plausible deniability.

i'm surprised that the Daily Espresso missed this one scoop or two.

We were not fighting at all, from what I could see, my friend. But you are correct, the National XI's little pink number does little to help them. Really, to wear a strip like that, you have to be good. -
At most he is being used as a diversion, but he opened himself to that.

It may depend on whether or not the provincials find some level of consistency, themselves.

Agreed; but that Gers' outfit on Sunday was an atrocity of similar scale. -
