Acres of space on our left hand side, I mean acres, and it's help yourself Hans. Everybody has a plan, until you get punched in the mouth. So that's 3 punches in the mouth, and we seem to persist..

And here's a cultural touchstone for older Western loving supporters: 'Alias Smith and Jones'. This was a western TV series, which ran way, way, back, in which the main characters were Hayes, and Curry - Kid Curry, and, yes, you've got it, Hannibal Hayes. (I once researched the Western genre, on film and TV. It all changed with 'Shane'.) -

Hannibal Mejbri (Arabic: حَنِّبَعْل المجبري; born 21 January 2003) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester United and the Tunisia national team. A mobile centre-mid, and, perhaps, the answer to a maiden's prayer. There is nothing that Hannibal Cannae do. -

And therein lies at least part of your problem.

Nobody ever went bust underestimating the taste of the public. QED.

Is that tie-dyed? Whatever it is, it's a bloody mess.

I am not sure who holds the ace in the hole here. I suspect that it is Clement: if only because it will be easier for him, if he leaves, to explain himself to a prospective future employer than it will be for the board to explain itself to a prospective future employee.

We are looking at starting competitive football with half a squad, and folk are worried about hairlines. Charlton, Zidane, to name but two baldies who could play a bit. -
t is rumoured - I am told strongly, whatever that means- that M Clement is scunnered, with the Board, principally, due to a perceived lack of support, and that he may, as they say, be considering his position. I don't know how much faith to put in this, but, if it is the case, the Board requires to take a view, and very quickly. Whichever direction it decides to take, it is clear, will be expensive.

Well, this is desperate. A completely inept showing against a side which, unlike our lot, is sprightly, and enthusiastic, whose players have -clearly- played football before, and who have -equally clearly-played together before. Wow. It's only a friendly, Ah ken, but...... ..I am now beginning to worry, with panic coming up fast on the stand side.

Presumably. Anyway, the Brummies culturally appropriated it.

The song was was written by Harry Lauder. from Portobello, (and no' the wan in Darien) later domiciled at Lauder Ha', up by Strathaven, and near the Shoogly Brig. (YNWA is hardly a folk song: a maudlin piece of kitsch from a maudlin piece of kitsch, called Carousel.) You are right, however, about the speed with which anthems are essayed, these days.

Though the way be long, so hard and long, They’ll be joys and sorrows too. As we journey on, We will sing this song, for the boys in royal blue, We’re often partisan, clap x3 We will journey on, clap x3.... Keep right on to the end of the road, Keep right on to the end. Though the way be long, let your heart be strong, Keep right on to the end, Though you’re tired and weary, still journey on, ’Til you come to your happy abode, Where all you love, you’ve been dreaming of Will be there.... At the end of the road! And that, leaving aside, for the moment, those old, partisan, tunes which we may not sing on pain of death, or of a fate immeasurably worse (clue: it involves Sturgeon, a gaol cell, and a gimp suit), is, approximately, the Blues' (B'Ham City) anthem, possibly the best football song. It is one I have often thought we should have appropriated it, and made it our own. It seems to have become increasingly relevant in recent, difficult, times.

He would be first pick, then, and after a few games, we would be watching hoof and hare football, with the problem that not enough players would be sufficiently fleet of foot to 'get on the end of' headers or layoffs. The man is no van Basten, no van Nistelrooy, no t even a Maakay. As the late Arthur M might say: 'A punt up the park.... up goes the head...'
