He wasn't even sold , he was released. We got SFA for him apart from his wage reduction.
-
Yeh i have been reading him for a while as well. his posts are witty and although long definately not boring. First class read.

The thing with Arveladze you also get a great link man. He is always in space and free to accept the ball. He loves quick 1-2's about the box. I don't think he will ever come back and falls into the catagory of give Rangers a good player and we will ruin him.
-
I think if we have a dominant midfield and Boyd can play in the box then he will always be a danger but it is the games where we need the sleeves rolled up and every man fighting that he will become a passenger. These are the games you need someone up front to hold a ball up to ease the pressure and give the midfield a break and time to join up. Personally i would prefer someone who can do both but do we have the money for a player of that class?

Les Reed is the perfect example of knowing the theory but not having a clue how to put it into practice. Theory and practice don't always walk hand in hand.

Ado den Haag(hague) I was reading a fc Utrecht site where they love mols. One of their songs, when he was leaving to come to us was(translated): Michael Mols we wish you success Go and give the Celtic a Les(son). I also know that since he played for us there is a Utrecht supporters Rangers support. So when watching dutch football give a bit of support to Utrecht.

Alves plays down the left and is strong fast and can hit a ball like the hammer. he reminds me of the hammer but not as lazy and very much quicker. He will score in any league. He is a Brazilian bye the way not that that makes him a good footballer.
-
Scored what everyone thought was a brilliant header. It wasn't until the post match analysis that someone noticed it was scored with his hand. When asked about it he did admit the truth though, that it was his hand. Another talking point about him was that the usually quiet Mols stood for about a minute and a half shouting aggressivly at one of his own team mates telling him what he thought about him. Totally out of character or is he also becoming a grumpy old man.

I am surprised that the Gersnet bet boys never had a few quid on that as it was almost a certainty. Oh yeh i forgot they only back the donkey's on here.
-
I will keep shouting Afonso Alves of Herenveen hopefully someone at Ibrox is also noticing him. He will be cuptied for the UEFA though.
-
Agreed, far too much was made about big Ecks feeings and le Guen not wanting to upset him. le Guen has totally underestimated the job in hand but hopefully he has learned from his mistakes and we are on the way to getting things right. I have no problems with the desert run as that was only a week but he should have been sitting in the stands more often.
-
Agreed 100%.

Not sure if i would want him Cal. While being a good coach he is one arrogant bandit. He is disliked by most of his fellow managers and nearly everyone really. He is one of these people that tells but will not listen. AZ is slowly becoming a main force in Dutch football but i think that lies more on chairman Scheringa other than van Gaal.

The 40's and 50's just add to my arguement Farrsie. Again great players and a winning team. Brown Young RJ Little McColl Woodburn Cox Waddell Findlay Billy Simpson Bob Thornton Rutherford This is a team taken from the fifties even though most of us have never seen them play, most are still houshold names amongst Rangers fans. I still stick to the belief that good players and a winning team pull in crowds and not the songs we sing. I think walk on also proves that, we have become to hate it because the tim supporters all get right behind it. It has absolute no historical history that should make us hate it. I truly believe that we are in a vacume now that songs we have been singing for the last 100 years have been taken away but i am sure in the future new songs will eventually take over.

I agree on many things over the whole thread but mostly how everyone see's the same situation different. Vinegar not scoring many with the head dosn't mean he could not have scored a hattrick against us. I will go for the middle road still i am afraid. I think we played well and dominated most of the game but i still think if we were on the same points Celtic could have stepped up a gear. I still think we are better though and in a 50-50 Scottish cup final we will win.

From Uefa. com Naismith on verge of greatness Thursday, 21 December 2006 If the speculation is to be believed it is only a matter of time before Kilmarnock FC striker Steven Naismith moves to a bigger club in Scotland or England. Dubbed Scotlandââ?¬â?¢s answer to Wayne Rooney, the 20 year-old was invited to train under the watchful gaze of Arsenal FC manager ArsÃ?¨ne Wenger earlier this season, while closer to home another Frenchman, Rangers FC supremo Paul Le Guen has also been casting covetous eyes in his direction. Second chance There is a certain irony in the interest from Rangers, as Naismith was released by the Ibrox club as a schoolboy. However, he was soon picked up by the Kilmarnock youth system, where manager Jim Jefferies "spotted something special" and fast-tracked him through to the first team, handing him his senior debut during the 2003/04 season. Young player award He made 18 more appearances the following year scoring his first goal for Killie, but Naismithââ?¬â?¢s career really took off last season scoring 13 goals, a performance that earned him the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year Award. He has also marked his international debut with a goal for Scotlandââ?¬â?¢s Under-21 side in their 4-0 defeat of Iceland in March 2006, a feat he repeated later that month for the national B team in a 3-2 loss to Turkey. Significant interest So far this season the diminutive striker, who can also play on the left side of midfield, has added a further five goals to his tally although Jefferies concedes his form has dipped as a result of the attention from bigger clubs. With two years still left on his contract Jefferies hopes Naismith stays at Kilmarnock a while longer but also knows he risks losing his star player sooner rather than later. Decision time "One of these days Steven will leave and he will go to the very top, I am sure of that," said Jefferies. "Steven has admitted the coverage he got when he went down to Arsenal affected his form. I want to keep him at Kilmarnock and achieve something here. We are in the semi-final of the League Cup and who knows, maybe we could bring a trophy back to Rugby Park. However, I know that one day we will have to make a decision on Steven." Transfer target If and when Naismith goes, Jefferies would prefer to sell the striker to an English club having seen another of his protÃ?©gÃ?©s, Kris Boyd come back to haunt Kilmarnock in every game since his ââ??¬500,000 move to Rangers last January. Unlike Boyd, Naismith is still under contract and it would take an offer in the region of ââ??¬1.5m to entice him away from Kilmarnock with last seasonââ?¬â?¢s UEFA Champions League finalists Arsenal first in the queue if he is allowed to go. English hope "I cannot pick and choose which club Steven goes to but if he goes to an English club I wouldnââ?¬â?¢t have to worry about him coming back to haunt us," added Jefferies. "Kilmarnock arenââ?¬â?¢t in a position to turn down a big transfer fee for a player, but it will take a really good offer to prise Steven Naismith away from us." Ã?©uefa.com 1998-2006. Rangers defender open to Marseille switch Julien Rodriguez is being linked with a return to French football The former AS Monaco man joined Rangers in the summer of 2005 but has not been a first choice this season for his fellow countryman Paul Le Guen. "People tell me Marseille are looking for a defender." said the 28-year-old. "So my door is open to them."

I disagree i don't mind what you say as it is your opinion. but i do disagree with it. Rangers were pulling in the 60's 70's support of round 15.000 sometimes. You could just turn up and pay to get in. Then they get Souness in and some brilliant players and hey 50.000 with most on season tickets. They came to see great football players not because they could sing derries walls or the sash. Rangers has always been about football and only a minority of bigots put any value on the songs we(yes we ) have been singing for years to build up the atmosphere. Very few have been up to their knees in f*****n blood it was just a song that got the Rangers going and tims wound up. That is why it was sung , not because of our historical alliance. Rangers will survive without it and without the bigots that shout hatred. If Ronaldinho signs tomorrow we could double the support. We will not get many more just because we can sing the billy boys.

A delegation from AZ including chairman Dirk Scheringa and trainer Louis van Gaal visited Murray park yesterday to look into the options of building a similar complex in Alkmaar. Next to the training complex they want to build a hotel, acadamy and sporthall. It is the next stage in AZ's developement said their press officer. Maybe they could show us how to use the fn thing.

I don't totally agree about Sebo. Drogba was crap for Chelsea in his first year. I think the guy needs time and a bit of composure, he is making chances.
-
Just thinking Derek Riordan could have joined us last year and in offside on monday a joke was cracked, What do Santa and Derek Riordan have in common? No one is sure if they exist!

Players will be much cheaper in the summer as contracts near an end so he may choose to spend his money in the summer. I think we have a good enough squad for second spot although this weekend will shed more light on that.
-
The dutch commentator said at HT that with Chelsea you have to be wary their sting is in their tail. How right he was. Drogba has hit some form at the moment everything he does turns to gold.
-
It must be horrible though if you are a member of that supporters club and are totally innocent or even not at that game. The good majority always have to pay for a few idiots.

He does come accross like a bit of a wanker but i suppose he is 24\7 in the stress. That guy Martins is starting to look not too bad though, and they seem to be improving.
