This article is my thoughts entirely, i wish i was bright enough to have written it. I wasn't keen on Smith first time around as i feel he inherited a great team and watched it wither away. His Euro tactics were walk on the park away from home and keep 11 players defending our goal. Try and steal a win at home. This was also his Scotland vision as i see it. For those who read my every word, and i believe there is someone in outer Mongolia, they will remember a post i done on going to a FC Twente match, where i pointed out that one player stood out head and shoulders above the rest. That player was Jason Culina. Since that time PSV signed him and i thought shit i wish Rangers had signed him. On saying that 3 things worry me. He never made it at Ajax. He played 7 games with PSV. Since he left, Twente have gone from a bottom of the league team to a 4th place team. The last point is a bit of banter as he can't be blamed for being the difference as there have been many changes. I thought he was a good player and a class above the rest of the Twente team of that time but he has struggled at PSV. I do rate him higher than what i have seen of Charlie Adam.

Totallly agree that his communication was a big problem, and i don't think we should ever sign a coach again who does not have an understandable grip on the English language. Sorry i don't agree, i can see where the SFA are coming from. They had a manager with an 18 month contract now they have to pay top price to get a new manager. Success for a manager is expected not an extra. Rangers should pay up to get the man they\we want.
