  1. Sometimes it is the supporters that get things wrong and possibly see things through blue tinted glasses. We should be looking at other points like how is it possible a player can head a ball that has travelled 20+ yards and is at head height 3 yards out without meeting the keeper? Why did the keeper make himself so small at the Griffith goal? surely a keeper should make himself as big as possible? What got into Beerman's head to make him make that tackle? How can a full-back with limited talent run so far and shoot into the net without one tackle. These things should have been more in discussion than the referee.
  2. On the Brown Ross county tackle I am willing to agree it is in a area with a fine line where there are arguments for both sides with retaliation being one. Holding on to the Miller challenge with all the evidence is just being stubborn and not willing to change their minds
  3. That is the first time i have seen that and if I am honest i would also have classed it as a yellow. Yes he was late but his foot went over the ground.
  4. Well said! How can we expect our players to harden up if we are going to cry every time a slightly hard tackle comes in? i agree it looked bad in real time but the referee saw it as it was and judged it perfectly.
  5. As soon as you swing your foot to kick a ball it could be classed as dangerous. This guy's feet were on the ground, he got to the ball before Miller and Miller fell over him because he was also at a high speed. You could say it was a foul for Celtic because Miller came in late. Anyway I am giving up on the subject. What a pity it will be for football if we start punishing tackles like this one. As I said we would be better just playing indoor football where there is no body contact allowed.
  6. I thought Scott Nesbitt was a good defender who unfortunately had to stop through injury. Peter van Vossen was a really good player who was capped for Holland in a time the Dutch had a good team. I think that 1 miss ruined his career with us.
  7. You can lead a Horse to water but you can't make it drink: springs to mind. Jesus lets stop all sliding tackles and play powder puff football. This was a fantastic tackle with perfect timing. I thought it was Celtic supporters that played the victim but maybe I was wrong there. Or is it just hating to say maybe I was wrong?
  8. Come on guy's lets get more positive with each other.
  9. Holt was not sent off for his tackle on Brown in the 1-1 game. No foul was given. Beerman never got red and I don't even think yellow for his tackle on Roberts. I am not saying we have an even playing ground but lets be honest and not paranoid.
  10. I think you should go and take a grumpy pill or go for a sleep. I am just being honest it was not a foul. The fact Miller went over his body does not make it a foul.
  11. Here is the frame before the ball is long gone and Miller hits him after it is away.
  12. Okay tell me where this two footed tackle is. Where the back leg is scissored. He played the ball and Miller went over his hip. If you are now not convinced then there is no point in discussing it further.
  13. The two players were travelling at speed in opposite directions. As I learned when I was young, if two cars crash at 30mph the impact is 60 mph. that makes the tackle look a lot worse than it is. Plus the way Miller fell made it look dramatic. The trailing leg is bent and travels over the ground and plays no part in Millers fall. It is a perfectly good tackle. Hard but fair. I would be a lot happier if we tackled like that on Saturday.
  14. I am not going through the whole argument again. It was not a 2 footed tackle and not even a foul. Read through the thread for the answers.
  15. And nobody knew what his legs were going to do. Not even himself.
  16. Okay Miller is better now than he was first time around but not so good as his second stint. Durrant is a strange one and i would say before his injury he was world class so he doesn't deserve to be in a poor players list
  17. Foderingham was at fault for at least 2 of the goals on Saturday. How the hell can a player head the ball in at head height 2 yards from the goal without meeting the keeper? If I was manager I would drop him and give the other keeper a chance.
  18. the same as everything posted on a forum. DISCUSSION! No post = nothing to read. Does there always have to be a serious point to something?
  19. We really have to get to the group stages before we start making serious money.
  20. Coop mate you are hanging on to an argument that is just not there. It was a good tackle. His back leg is bent and it is his toe that hits the ball. In Holland referees are actually being told to allow hard tackles to get it back away from indoor football and help with the continuity of the game. Holts tackle on Brown in the 1-1 game was a lot worse than this.
  21. Watch this video and tell me what is 2 footed about it. People have 2 feet he can't just saw one off. This was an excellent one footed challenge with no studs showing. Let us worry about our game and why we lost 5 goals and not this tackle.
  22. I think many would be willing t pay 10-15 pound a month but 30 pound is a lot for some people especially if they are already forking out for a season ticket.
  23. Waghorn missing a sitter again. What a pity he couldn't score in a barrel of, as he is a reasonable player apart from that.
  24. Not if he is first to the ball and is shielding it.
  25. I thought the elbow was worth a red but if I am honest I thought it was a fantastic tackle. Miller only went flying because he had his foot next to the ball when the Celtic player kicked it. If it had been a Rangers player that made it I would be praising him. Unfortunately the tackle we can talk about gave away a stupid penalty. Beerman is nowhere near the step-up to the first team in my view.
