I am not sure retiring makes you a couch potato. Most people who retire had more time to do things when they were working. Your social contact may be less but retired people tend to be busier doing things for themselves as they ever did for a boss.

Unfortunately Ray played for Rangers at a time where i lived abroad and with no computers then as now I was restricted to trying to get snippets of information from dodgy transistor radio's where the signal would come and go.
