  1. Great ball in from McKenna and Forrest fluffs it from just outside the 6yard box center of the goals 43mins
  2. Hungarian keeper saves a penalty from Mulgrew 39th min.
  3. Absolutely. Its as if most of them have never seen a football before.
  4. Never managed to regain any kind of fitness and to cap it all off took a bad injury which effectively ended his involvement after that his contributions were limited. I thank him for his services and wish him good luck in the rest of his career if he has one.
  5. I dont think we do either Gonzo. I think other than the lad from Man U McTominay, whom none of our mids are even on the same planet as, we look at least a yard or two short. I would agree with you about McBurnie though he's been the only one that looks lively. EDIT: I've just seen the possession stats and it only has Costa Rica at 58% as far as I'm concerned thats garbage they had the ball for most of that half.
  6. So far, as we approach the half time break, in the Scotland v Costa Rica game its been all Costa Rica who've quite simply bossed the game from back to front and are also 0-1 up.
  7. Windass reminds me of that kid who always got a game because he was related to the coach in some way but even though he could actually play a bit the minute someone went in hard on him complained that the person was just a hacker and went in a huff about it all.
  8. That was a really poor performance. It was slow lacked energy and completely devoid of any ideas. We never got out of first gear and I feel sorry for Docherty, Cummings and Morelos when he came on as they showed for it in great positions all day but the service to them was none existent. Playing with a two man midfield against teams who sit in and flood the middle is nowhere near the correct tactics. The rest of the players didn't do enough for me today but the main problem for me is our tactics or the lack of them.
  9. Kilmarnock have been stuffy in the middle of the park without being particularly organised. In spite of that we've not really been able to get any of our front men on the ball. Cummings came close and brought out a great save from the keeper but thats about it really.
  10. That is the point and one I most certainly did not make as its obviously and absolutely clear that Scotland is part of mainland Britain. The point I made was, in response to trubluesince1982 statement above, that a person does not have to be born on this island or consider themselves British to represent any of the home nations or team GB.
  11. It's not difficult to understand at all and I personally have no issues understanding your definition. But lets be frank here this is simply your definition. The statement I made does not reflect my ignorance but rather your unwillingness to accept that there are other possibilities. Obviously and without question Scotland itself is part of the island of Britain. Anyone born upon this island is by default a Briton everyone else is not. However there is the possibility through the derivative claim via the hereditary line which is precisely what Gough did through his father. Many athletes have used this and similar hereditary method in order to compete in competitive sports, World Champion ship, Olympics etc etc etc a level they may not have been able to compete at via the country of their birth perhaps because they just weren't good enough to compete with the top picks in their home country. It hasn't stopped them competing as team GB. From memory the most recent was an American female GB competitor in the Winter Olympics (The three female Nigerian bob team are all Americans yet competed for Nigeria at the Winter Olympics). There is also the possibility to compete for the home countries via commonwealth which can also lead to inclusion in team GB. One can also compete if a person has lived and worked in GB for 5 years with or without immigration. A classic example is the Somalia born Mo Farah highly regarded as he's been extremely successful in his field but no matter how we shake it the man was not born in Britain. He chose to become English and is widely regarded as a British role model because he competed on behalf of team GB. The problem I have with your statement is that its an extremely narrow set definition and without trying to be insulting its one that I have read the argument for many times in the likes of the Daily Mail. The key for ALL here is choice. A person can chose to compete for Scotland, England, NI and Wales and not be British.
  12. I agree with you Gaffer politics should be reserved to the Bluenose lounge. Most of the stuff I have read in this thread is absolute shite. Richard Gough the Rangers and Scottish captain was born in Stockholm Sweeden and grew up in South Africa which means he's not British but has chosen to represent Scotland and indeed regards himself as Scottish.
  13. Windass is an extremely dangerous player for any opposition to deal with provided he gets the service. Murty has been going with two, Docherty and Goss, in central midfield so thats been fairly easy against the lesser opposition in the SPL. However against the tougher teams Hibs, Aberdeen and Celtic with the exception of Aberdeen it has left the two central midfielders exposed when they put three in there. Whereas Rogic on Sunday was a constant thorn in our side sitting between the lines of our defence and midfield occasionally dropping deep to help in there adding another man or playing across the park from right to left (thats defending from the front). Windass doesn't offer that he's only ever looking to break the lines and very rarely tracks the ball carrier beside him which means he floats in and out of games. For me its odd because he has pace to burn yet cant track a defender as he moves out with the ball which suggests to me that he switches off when the opposition has it or he sees the move late when defensive duty required him to spot it early and move. I'm not saying he needs dropped perse but he needs to be more alert because at times he's a passenger.
  14. He tried to mix it up with Candeias but Candeias rattled him and then laughed at him.
  15. They came and played for the draw with only one of their usual attacking wingers and an off form Dembele as a lone striker up front. The dangerous position has always been Rogic cutting in onto his left on the right of their midfield looking for fouls and the odd shot here and there. It wasnt a surprise to me that he scored, he normally does when he's playing. Their midfield was ineffective, other than Rogic, and their defence was woeful we out played them on numerous occasions in the first half. So much so that they resorted to playing the long ball over the top, which through some poor defending from Cardoso, lead to their second equalizer. It was exactly the same from them in the second half up until the sending off then they went to a back four defending in their own half with one man out wide in the channel that Tav left behind as we pushed for the winner. They got the break and scored the winner then sat in and killed the game. From mid to front we're more than good enough to beat them but our defence is thin and we'll need to strengthen in the summer. Couple of defensive errors and poor goal keeping was our undoing today. You don't score the first of two goals and expect to lose old firm matches. We should have won that!
  16. Thier first wasnt lucky Rogic does that almost every time he's playing when they play us. Wes should have done better than he did though.
  17. We're due to give this mob a right hiding. I do think we'll beat them but I don't think the hiding they are due will be today folks. I feel fairly confident that we'll win this by just the one goal regardless if they score or not.
  18. Not too much facial hair for you though?
  19. Theres a couple that spring to mind first one is, Sandy Jardines goal an absolute belter in the 78/79' 3-1 Drybourgh Cup final but probably my favourite was Davie Coopers goal in the same game and to be honest with you its probably the best goal I've ever seen scored by any player ever! Oh and Mo Johnstons goal against them at Ibrox 89/90'. I was in the West enclosure at that game and right next to them. We went ballistic and they were apoplectic.
  20. I'm not sure maybe its because they are Englands most successful domestic club. They were the other team in the opening friendly tie played at Ibrox park 20 August 1887 and of course they are the original invincibles or perhaps its just simply because there is a link between the clubs through Garner. There are different questions I got the 'where was Nemane born' wrong so 14/15 here.
  21. Assuming Celtic win away at Aberdeen today. Looking at how things stand right now even if we win all our remaining matches in the league including home and away against Celtic then they win the league by 3 points, that away win at Aberdeen would be the difference as far as the points tally. However if they lose at Aberdeen and win the rest of their matches other than the two against us they still win the league on goal difference provided they can maintain the 12 goals difference that they have at the moment. Make no mistake about it regardless if they are 6 or 9 points ahead at the end of today it is already a title challenge! How close it will be depends on whether we win the rest of our games or not. Remember its football and anything can happen... so keep your ears peeled for the sound of helicopters!
  22. I heard the guy it was actually 'feckin shitebag'.
  23. The Hearts keeper was outstanding today he pulled off some great saves.
  24. Hearts have had two chances but Foderingham pulled out a couple of decent saves.
