  1. What are you talking about. Its Rangers of course its an attractive position to go for. If you don't think that it is then I've got no answer for you. Any high profile club comes with expectation levels. If a manager cant deal with that then he's not a manager who can ply his trade with high profile clubs. I accept your point with regards to financial backing. Let me just remind you one of our most successful managers left the club because of financial issues. Celtic were the dominant force domestically but when Wallace took over from Waddel in may/Jun 72 he won silverware in his first season. The very next year he won the league away to Hibs at the old Easter Rd (which was a midden by the way and my recount of that should probably go in Boabies thread). We hadn't won the league title in 11 years it also ended Celtics 9IAR era. He was financially constrained because we were rebuilding the stadium but it didn't stop him trying. At no point did he concede that Celtic were better than us and lay down to them and by the way... over that period they had an excellent team. I dont accept Rangers are not attractive... That's the difference!
  2. Thats some attitude to have. It's Rangers we're talking about. Any manager who is ambitious should want to be the man. If you're a manager who is happy for example to stay at a provincial club like Aberdeen, Kilmarnock or Motherwell then a) You're a fan of that club, b) you are learning your trade and you feel its too early, c) you have no ambition d) you are a jobbing manager happy to take a wage without pressure. If a manager doesn't want to work at one of the worlds biggest clubs then they were never good enough in the first place and I wouldn't want them at the club.
  3. Rush an appointment? This board runs Rangers like a corporate office, which is fine as far as accounts go, but it'll take them at least six weeks to do anything. They'll have an application process and then pick a guy. I'll say that again a fuckin application process to be Rangers manager... Naw you pick the new Rangers manager and then you go and get them. Thats how its done at Rangers!
  4. I'm perfectly calm mate honestly at 2-0 down in the first half I knew the game was gone, with this team, for me it was only a matter of how many they would get. I didn't expect 2 pens 5 yellows and a red during that as we were no where near them or the game to merit what looks on paper like a tousey game. It wasn't it was a walk over from start to finish for them. I've seen some poor Rangers teams in my time but they all had more than this team and yeah we were close to them for periods in the game at Ibrox but that was it they also had a player sent off and still won the game. This Rangers team hasn't got the head to win against them. Put aside the tactics of a youth coach for a second the players need to know how to win games like this and they simply don't have it they are weak!
  5. No we're not mate. The whole spine of that team needs ripped out Predator style and pronto too!
  6. No we're really not @Rousseau
  7. In times gone past, at half time, I would have said Rangers haven't turned up for the first half I'm not worried because they'll turn up for the second but not with this Rangers team because that's as good as it gets with them. Simply not good enough, not set up well enough, no belief they can beat a tough team and the management doesn't help either both on and off the field. The board simply have to get their next appointment right in the summer or the Rangers fans will just stop going.
  8. Bates isn't fit to play and Wilson was a bombscare most of the time. I'm not happy about Bates being allowed to leave but Wilson I could care less.
  9. Tierney dives on the ball and holds it in like a keeper morelos tries to get it back Brown starts his shite and both Morelos and Dorrans are booked for it. Whats all that about?
  10. Not close enough to them, not dealing with the second ball. This could get much worse.
  11. Its not about the Rangers fans feelings or as Graham puts it their public perception. Its about accurate reporting. Attributing behaviours to a section of society when its clear from even the cursory of glances that these words did not come from a Rangers supporter or a Rangers supporters group but instead were uttered by a *flame* account set up precisely for this reason. Graham has nothing to offer hence the straw-man to justify any comment at all. He's a poor logician and an even worse journalist!
  12. I'm guessing that you caught it on one of the audio outlet sources @Gaffer On the youtube version I put film footage and commentary of his goal and faded out over some photographs overlayed with simple text tribute.
  13. Absolutely! You know the same as I do that the distance between our lines is 20-30 yards at times and the same from our wide men both staying wide at the same time instead of coming in when the ball is being worked down the opposite wing is an issue. The CB pairing other than when we've got one of the young lads in there Bates/McRorie is too slow and needs to sit back causing problems with space in behind our two pivots and at times as you say the distance from them to our striker is ridiculous too.
  14. You are absolutely spot on. When you look at that 4-0 result on paper having not seen the game it looks like a clear walk over. It was anything but a walk over. As much as I like Murty as a person I am getting sick and tired of hearing him tell us how good we/our players were after a game like this. We were absolutely garbage for 60 minutes, players getting in each others way, poor passing, predictable slow build up, out of position when opposition had the ball on the break the list is endless. NO! Its not good enough Mr Murty. NO! Morelos didn't see the ball for the fist 20 minutes and he's our lone striker in a system with 2 in midfield that has been read by ALL opposition and countered. Yet still he refuses to adapt or change favouring the Warburton mantra of 'its about what we do'. I'm sick of hearing it!
  15. Murty is just going with his usual formation and fitting players in there that he thinks will make it work. It might but I'm with you on this one Gaffer and I don't think it will either.
  16. I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand it may add to match day experience but on the other theres a reason why the terraces were taken down and the money to rebuild the stadium was raised on the back of that through the Rangers Pools and other initiatives.
  17. Aye pretty much.
  18. I'm far more concerned with the level of fine, coarse particles (PM2.5, PM10) produced mainly by diesel vehicles and machinery in and around our towns and cities than I am about a momentary waft of cigarette or vape as I walk past. I would concede that a sport institution being tied with a sponsor that perhaps promotes an unhealthy lifestyle is somewhat of an oxymoron.
  19. I'd say your odds on winning that bet would be fairly high since... they're NOT in it. EDIT: It was a case of not typing as accurately as the brain was thinking.
  20. Seriously you think so Frankie? Sure Philips held the ball up well... at times. McGinn was excellent and did everything we expected of him breaking up the play and winning the midfield. McGregor made some good saves and needed too. If you contrast it against Germany v Brazil or if you want to be a bit more realistic England v Italy then we lacked control, awareness and the crucial point for me composure. Our game looked like a English league 1 or Championship game and thats probably because thats the level of player we have. The two games I mentioned were low scoring games but the passing, movement, awareness, interplay between the defence, midfield and attack was much crisper and assured. They were confident, skilful and composed on the ball and also looked to have the knowledge of how to play through the opposition. Neither England or Italy are that good, they're not brilliant, and I don't even expect either of them would make the quarter finals in Russia, even if Italy had qualified, but regardless of that they were still streets ahead of anything we had to offer. Whether we like it or not that is the benchmark we need to reach before we can qualify for any international tournament. Add in Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, even Wales, the Scandinavians and the Baltic Euro countries and you can see where Scotland sits in terms of European football never mind world football. I thought we looked like amateurs.
  21. 1-0 Scotland has flattered us from my perspective. Apart from McGregor in goals, John McGinn in the middle of the park winning balls and breaking up play and Philips holding the ball up well at times we looked pretty poor.
  22. Scotland living dangerously on the edge of our own box with Mulgrew making an arse of it leaving their striker through on goal. McGregor makes himself big and saves 70mins.
  23. Robertson clears off his line on 45mins.
