I understand your point, but what is it we're asking the board for? I don't know the answer to that. If it's a seat on the board, I'd want to know who it is and how that could possibly serve its members. There are pretty fundamental points we'd need to unite on if we were to take seat on the board and I'm not sure we could. Decisions about managers, players, business strategy all cause division in our support so I'd really like to know how one person could ever represent our views, or even what value that would add. I'm sure the board knows that and possibly believes we are a hindrance rather than a help. Just my thoughts though.

It doesn't matter what position we hold, it's the proportion of shares that matters. The simple fact is that we are insignificant. If we were anything more than that, we wouldn't be negotiating better communication with the board, we'd be demanding it. However we can't, unless of course we can gain sufficient support from other shareholders to force a change in attitude towards us from the board.

I have no idea why we keep changing our system to counter our opponents. I wish we'd get a system and play to it, with our best players in those positions to which they are best suited. I like Candeias but he doesn't fit into this system. Pena does, so why does he not play? This seems like absolute madness to me and I'd love to know what's happening with him. If he isn't fit, or isn't applying himself in training he shouldn't be a sub. But he is, and that's why I can't understand why our top midfielder ( in terms of goals and assists) is not playing. We are screaming out for a player like him. Cardoso appears to be some sort of scapegoat too. He seems to be treated much more harshly because he's foreign perhaps?!? I'm becoming really frustrated at the moment and I just don't get it. Play our best players in their best positions and stick with it. Let other teams worry about us, and stop this nonsense of changing to match up with them. We can still turn this league around. Let's face it, to be only 8 points behind them after such a terrible season so far just shows how little we need to improve to win this league.

You're spot on trublu! I don't get it. We desperately need someone creative and we have someone in Pena who has shown he can create and score goals. We play a system with an attacking midfielder role (number 10) and yet we don't play our best player in that role. Something is very strange here. If Pena is fit, he should be playing. We don't get to see them train each day but the manager sees him as being good enough to be on the bench so something doesn't add up.

I appreciate the team at Club 1872 doing what they can to negotiate a better relationship, but the only true way to achieve this is to take more power through an increased shareholding. We are still fairly insignificant so I look forward to the share issue.
-
We all have to get right behind him now. We will lose games and have poor performances, but the club has made a decision and it's our job as supporters to do our bit for him now. Come hell or high water, we must all unite behind him.
-
This is a ridiculous waste of taxpayers' money to chase him on this case. It should have been thrown out. However, if anyone decides to take him up on the offer, it might be a good opportunity for Club 1872 to then buy those shares from him.

A game like today requires our most creative players on the pitch. Games like that are ideal for Pena in particular. I've no idea why he doesn't get selected.

It wasn't a foul, but McCrorie wasn't booked for the challenge, he was booked for kicking the ball away. -

I think axing a veteran is one of the toughest things to do, but if a club is to move on, it's important to get a manager who realises it and does it for the benefit of the wider group (even if they sometimes don't appreciate it at the time). Reading books by Guardiola, Ferguson and Ancelotti was insightful about this subject. Despite them all being respected managers, they all suffered dressing room unrest after axing a players' favourite, or one who had influence. If it was hard for them with established reputations, PC is going to have to find a way of managing it better, because he no such reputation. Let's face it, we all know Miller hasn't kicked a ball (despite scoring a couple of goals) in a long long time. He shouldn't be in the squad, never mind the starting 11. Murty has had his tests already, but if he had confidence that he had the position longer term, would he drop Miller? Luckily for him, although sadly for Miller, it looks like GM won't have to make the difficult decision with Miller being out injured now. -
I think Windass was just an example, but we did suggest that these young players, including McCrorie, need to stop these silly cards and not allow bad habits to creep in.
-
Stupid yellows should receive a tough punishment from the club. McCrorie was another one who received a stupid yellow for kicking the ball away. They need to stop that nonsense, because it all adds up to a suspension at some point. We don't want our young players developing bad habits.

No one likes us dB ...... we don't care. It's all so very frustrating but I can't imagine a better feeling for any of us than when we get 55. Our next title is going to be unbelievable BECAUSE of this crap our club has had to endure. -
On second thoughts, perhaps they should file their complaint in Australia ..... afterall it's a kangaroo court they want
-
Good idea, but can we also help them by advising them of the language they need to file their complaint in? I know they struggle with that too. ;-)

That's probably the case. Since we've only recently moved to this narrow formation, perhaps we've not trained the team in how to move across (and in what shape) when the ball is switched. As pros they'll know that anyway, but of course it takes a special discipline level to achieve it without wide midfielders. In fact, I've realised that don't know how that should work so I'll go and look that up. I've very little experience of the diamond. -

I agree with much of what you've said there Rousseau, but the one thing I couldn't understand is why we played wide with our defence from the start. There seemed to be a 20-25 yard gap between each of our back 4. Surely, in a narrow formation we play closer together. I couldn't work out why we thought this was the best tactic at the back. It meant they could quite easily play through balls for their quick wide men. We don't have the pace at the back to take those risks, so it seemed a strange one. At first I thought it was maybe to allow us to give some relief to the midfielders by playing it wide to our fullbacks, but we weren't doing that either. I've no doubt Murty and JJ had a reason for it because it was deliberate. We've not had that spacing at the back in any other game this season. -

That was a very enjoyable win. Coming from behind to take all 3 points is great at any time, but when it has the added bonus of getting Lennon upset, it's all the more pleasing. He is a most distasteful individual, and I can't think of many people that bring the game into disrepute more than he does. The goal we lost was so poor, and let's face it we could have lost a few more. Having said that, we could, and should have had more ourselves. BUT, it's worth saying too that our two goals were crackers. I can't think of many people that would have scored either of those two goals, other than the guys who did. Windass was superb for his, and Morelos seems to make goals out of nothing. And finally, well done to Murty. I know he was forced into the changes, but to put confidence in those young lads to go and perform was great to see. The future of our club must be in the development of our youths so it's a brilliant incentive for others to see the pathway into the senior team. -

We didn't deserve that, but delighted to take it. We really need to hold the ball better and exploit their backline when we're in possession. Hibs' fans must b raging right now. Brilliant! -

Murty must be hoping we can get to half time without conceding again. This plan isn't working, but more importantly we don't have anyone who is willing and able to take control in the middle of that park. It's in a game like this that Murty can show what he can do. -

It's going to be Morelos and Windass as a pairing, with Miller playing a little deeper. I don't like him in that role (as you all know), but he'll help break up their attacks hopefully. -
He doesn't need to fool them. They just really want to (or need to) believe that it's illegal, so they gladly give up their cash to fund this nonsense. The lawyers will be having a field day.
-
Any chance we can wait until the end of the season? Then we can say "Murty", because by then he will have won a cup.

I've been listening to Murty's (as I do with every manager's) pre match interviews and he's been stressing the importance of doing the little things right. He explicitly mentions winning the individual battles, and for me this is key in a game which will be more of a physical battle than a technical one. Lennon will have his team pumped up for this game, and that should be expected. I want to see each and every one of our players match up with their allocated opposite number and make it clear from the first minute that they are going to dominate them for the full 90 minutes. That means standing tall when face to face (unlike Barton against Brown last year), and hitting them fast and hard when pressing the game. I'm sure we'll know after 3 minutes of this game how it's going to go. If we win the right to play football, we can go on and win this game comfortably. My problem with MW was that his teams never won that right in the first place. I don't expect we will have the same problem with a Murty team. If there's one thing he understands, it's winning the physical battle first. -
Going nowhere with this board?!? Until this board stepped in we were definitely going under. I think it's worth reminding ourselves of that. And why are we all so quick to believe these leaks and stories from other people? I wouldn't trust anyone who 'leaks' something without understanding their motive. To me, the motive of most of these types of people I see to stir up trouble for our club. Surely that's a reason in itself to disbelieve anything they come up with.
