  1. So yet another obsessed and deluded mank with more interest in Rangers than anything else bites the dust. Last night John James posted a blog saying Ashley was about to wipe the floor with King and the SFA. It was reposted on the usual mank sites and celebrated as if Moses himself had delivered the message on tablets of stone. Surprise, surprise, the blog has now disappeared. Fortunately a Rangers-minded blog still carries it.

    http://dothebouncy.com/main/threads/ashley-to-loose-again-lol.69808/

As a taster - " Tomorrow’s petition in regard to the SFA’s decision to approve a convicted criminal as ‘fit & proper’ promises to be explosive. I exchanged messages with someone close to the case and he stated that Ashley’s submissions were ‘dynamite.’ Career criminal King will be hung out to dry tomorrow and there will be no hiding place for the SFA. The craven, venal cabal that allowed King to drive a coach and horses through article 10.2 will be exposed as either complicit in a deception or grossly incompetent. "

    Oh really ? :roflmao:

  2. I say let them remain deluded - it means they cant see fact from fiction, which works to our advantage.

They believe they were unlucky, so when they get inept performances next season they will grab the comfort blanket of "we pyoor hud mair shoats at goal thin they hud so we shooda wun the geme" whilst we see the reality of how we are doing. Just look at Warburton after last night - no trying to paper over cracks, no excuses - just "that wasn't good enough for this football club".

Give me reality over delusion every day of the week. But I am happy when Celtic fans remain deluded as it means they cant see their own failings.

I'm happy they're deluded too Craig. What's ripping my knitting though is, the more that garbage is permitted to grow without challenge the more the shine is taken off an excellent display by our guys. The simple fact is, the manks thought they'd score 5 or 6 instead of being played off the park .

  3. The number 33 appears in the BBC's match report/stats too.

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36008631

It also says we had nine shots. Which seems a bit low, not least if they had 33.

If the BBC told me it was raining outside I'd look out the window to check. I'm surprised that lot didn't have the scums attempts down as more.

I think we all understand that shots which in no way could or should be recorded as attempts on goal are being counted and have been for some time. Sky can count what they want as far as I'm concerned. My grouse is with our oppressed and persecuted brethren from the east end who true to form have turned that match around to now put forward the view that they were the better team and were unfortunate. They weren't. They were outplayed and deserved to lose no matter what set of statistics they want to use.

  4. The stats after the game had their shots on goal as 33. The number hasn't increased at all.

Those stats came from Sky Sports I believe.

Remember, shots on goal also include trundlers that barely make it to the keeper and "attempts" that go out for a throw-in.

Either way, the only Statistic that matters is who made the final.... and that would be us.

The stats maybe haven't changed as far as Sky are concerned probably due to the reasons you give. But they are varied elsewhere ,

    http://www.rangers.vitalfootball.co.uk/stats.asp?a=565177 has 26.

As I said, I watched the whole match again last night and Celtic imo had nowhere near 33 attempts.

  5. I've always thought that shots on goal etc that while interesting, should not be used without qualification to measure whether a team "should have won". It's a quantitative analysis, not a qualitative one, which has the benefit of being to some extent a bit objective. There is still some subjectivity in interpreting what constitutes a shot, which can give skewed results.

For, a think a better analysis would be to count the number of attacks that we very good chances and also count the good chances. Trouble here is that that is very subjective and goes back to the tinted glasses caveat.

However, thinking with the top of my head, I do believe they had more very good chances, like the sitter and hitting the woodwork, plus a couple of good saves. This does mean that fate played a slight hand and we could easily have lost the game had luck turned against us. That does not take away from an excellent and dominant performance, but not only shows that football is a funny old game, it highlights some of our weaknesses.

The usual analogy applies that your only as strong as your weakest link, and we a few to strengthen.

If it was last year and the game went the other way around, although I wouldn't be arrogantly asserting that we should have won, I would definitely be taking heart in the fact we could have won. However, the difference for them is that doesn't work when you expected to give the opposition a hiding. Any coulda, shoulda just doesn't apply in that context.

Cal, I'm sure we've all seen matches where the if your aunty had baws debate applies. 'IF' Brown had scored. 'IF' Roberts had scored. 'IF' Griffiths shot had went in. The point is, they didn't. How many times this season, even in the past fortnight, have we had 60/65% possession, battered teams, yet failed to win.

Celtic didn't come close to "battering" us yet still the rewriting of history by their fans continues, especially the way they keep throwing up stats. Now that Delilah is receiving his P45 the game against us can be resummarised and they are counted unlucky.

Some might ask why that concerns me. They are only deluding themselves. But I want our team to take some credit for a mighty fine performance. I object to somebody coating that display in matt black paint.

  6. The stats are from BBC, Boabie.

Shots on goal mean nothing. A sclaff that trickles out has the same staus as a rocket from twenty yards that smacks off the crossbar.

I only saw the highlights and on these, edited of course, celtic had more goes on goal than Rangers. Possession and intricate patterns are very welcome. Deny the opposition time on the ball but a greater degree of penetration is needed.

The silly mank who made the post was imo saying that despite his side not being able to get near the ball, his team had more attempts and were unlucky not to win. He then compounds his stupidity by analysing how our team are set up and play. We were without key players yet still managed to play his side off the pitch for long periods.

The statistics say the square root of nothing. Anybody neutral watching that game would say that Rangers were the better team and deserved to win and go through.

  7. These are the stats.

He does make a point though not about them deserving a win.

I'm sorry Scott, but having watched the whole game again last night I just did not see them have 33 shots on goal. Not unless we are counting attempted crosses or similar.

I've noticed since the match was played that , as is their method, the number of their attempts has continued to rise daily. It'll be over a hundred by the time we play them again.

  8. The deluded continue to re-write history. Listen to what this rocket thinks of us humping them -

" Of course it was embarrassing. However, we deserved to win that game despite being awful. They had lots of possession, Warburton teams will more often than not because of the way he sets them up. They will also struggle to score because the CF moves away from goal to offer himself short to allow them to keep possession. They concede loads of chances to any semi decent opponent - we had 33 shots, 1 every 4 minutes! " :laugh2:

33 shots ? Maybe he was at a different game. :fingers:

  9. To be fair he is only doing what the BHEASTS are paying for him to do!

There will be umpteen thousands of them, certainly far more than attend at the paedodome for home games, glued to their browsers awaiting his every tweet. They are absolutely the saddest bunch of losers on the face of this planet.

  10. " MICHAEL Duffy says his goal against Scottish Championship winners, Rangers in front of 50,000 supporters at Ibrox on Sunday was the highlight of his season as the Celtic loanee took special pleasure in spoiling the party atmosphere.

And the former Derry City winger expects the backlash for his snubbing of Rangers’ guard of honour to die down soon, adding that he found the reaction to his refusal to partake in the pre-match pleasantries, amusing.

Duffy, who is part of the Hoops’ development squad, stood with his hands behind his back as his teammates clapped Rangers onto the pitch ahead of Alloa’s shock 1-1 draw at the Glasgow venue.

And he further infuriated the home fans when he opened the scoring for the Championship’s basement club, who will be plying their trade in League One next year, after just seven minutes as he raced in behind the Gers’ defence and powered his shot into the far corner from just inside the penalty area.

“It was a class feeling,” he said. “I’ve had a tough enough season but I’ve enjoyed it and the last month has been going well for me, especially to score at Ibrox - that’s just made my season.

“There’s nothing much else to it really. I play for Celtic so that’s the only real reason I did it,” he said of his snub to Rangers who return to the top flight after four years. “I’m sure it will all die down after a while but it’s funny to see everyone go mad about it. It’s just the way it is being a Celtic player. "

He's certainly classless enough to be a top mank.

  11. There is no way King or anybody else is going to throw more cash than is required at Rangers until the criminal trial and all ownership disputes/fantasies have been cleared up. Imo, the fans will fund Rangers next season with our top guys filling in any shortages in funding. I'd expect the next season to see more money be available.

  12. I sincerely hope that McKenna is suffering deeply.

It's called Karma Kevin. You were one of the ones looking for your side to put the foot down and go for six at least. We told you what might happen but you didn't want to listen. Now you join the real bigots amongst your support and look for regime change to bring in somebody more seelik-minded, not to prop up a top heavy squad but to press this deluded resolution 12 garbage and do harm to Rangers. Be honest pal - you'd be happier at Rangers in bother rather than another Euro cup .
