  1. I don't think it's a young supporters club. It's open to any supporter no matter what age who wish to contribute to the youth development scheme.

I mean sign up in his name. Tbh I'm not interested in meeting youth players and am too old to train with them. Much more suited to an 11 year old imo.

  2.

Cup finals should be a reward for the regular fans and not for the once a year fans, who benefit from their team having a crappy support.

The point I've been making - depending on who reaches the final some fans are maybe going for the first time in 40 or 50 years. There will be many too who haven't actually attended a game of any description before.

  3. more likely be wearing hand me down uniforms from big brother and sister.

most schools have a dress code not necessarily a uniform. But sending a kid home because of their clothes,at a time when parents are fined for taking weans out of school for various reasons, makes no sense. You can't claim education is of paramount importance in one instance but not the other.

Usually what happens is if you think what a wean is wearing isn't appropriate a word in their ear does the trick, If it doesn't, a phone call home to enlist parents' support usually works

They want to ask 5 year old kids what sex they want to be considered as. That is far more important than any guff about wearing school uniform.

  4. Logan was part of a team who had the best chance ever of winning a league title but consistently failed. That a garbage Celtic team will win it says everything there is to be said about the bottlers currently wearing Aberdeen shirts. It's interesting to see no marks like Logan talk about the Rangers - they now have something to raise their game for instead of acting like serial failures.

  5. I certainly hope Liewell is doomed. His excessive influence at the SFA has led the hooped hordes to believe he could do just about anything & keep us under the cosh. That clearly is not the case and they're baying for blood.

The SFA knew there was nothing they could do to prevent King becoming Rangers chairman. Nor should they.

It was incredible yesterday watching what the deluded had to say while the court case was ongoing. Somehow they twisted things around to make out that the SFA lawyers were there to defend King and to act in the interests of Rangers. That the court proceedings were entirely about how the SFA passed King as fit and proper, and therefore a case against the SFA was completely forgotten by them.

  6. Perhaps the yahoos will ask the SFA why they passed Whyte fit & proper. I don't recall the yahoos complaining when he got Rangers despite the warnings from PM & others.

The only reason the yahoos are doing this is to try & destabilise everything King & his board have done since they got in. They will not succeed and they know it

Over at the Paedodome there is carnage. Their team is bloated, garbage and suffering earthquakes in considering the appointment of the next manager - Lennon is a stick on btw. They are all disappointed in the performance of Delilah and his squad of under-achievers. The more extreme want the board and senior shareholders to get rid of Liewell simply because he didn't support their resolution 12 nonsense and go to war with the SFA despite them having de facto control of that organisation.

I'll be honest Rab when I say I think they'll tear themselves apart for the next few years. The reasons are, they wanted us dead. They thought they'd set a world record in trebles. They firmly believed they'd control every aspect of Scottish football by now.

The cup semi final was a wake up call to them but there's nothing they can do about that so yet again they look to conspiracy for them not getting what they want.

A “certificate of good standing” is required by all companies who tender for contracts with the South African Government. Does today’s certificate refer to Mr King or to his company? I think we should be told.

I would also posit that Mr Ashley’s legal team, rather than being on the floor, succeeded in carrying out a classic military feint in which they drew out information from the SFA that was otherwise unavailable. This will undoubtedly form part of the MASH strategy later in the year.

If it is established that Mr King’s shares were purchased in a questionable fashion, would the voting rights that are attached to these shares be declared null and void and, if so, by whom?

“A feint retreat is performed by briefly engaging the enemy, then retreating. It is intended to draw the enemy pursuit into a prepared ambush, or to cause disarray. ”

Before any of JJ’s detractors suggest he had headed down a blind alley with his recent musings I would draw your attention to the above military definition. The SFA have now shown their hand in court and I would predict that hand will shortly be severed from the corporate body. Watch this space. Patience is a virtue.

One important fact to be remembered is that Mr Ashley has a bottomless pit of money. Neither Rangers nor Mr King are in that enviable position.

The mank sites started questioning the SFA's stance while todays court case was still ongoing. They had put their trust in Ashley proving King was not fit and proper. They have now switched to asking the SFA to reveal WHY they came to that decision. Some of them have been in contact with Ashley today demanding a judicial review and promising they will help with funding it.

The fact that Irvine has crawled out from under his rock is the snowflake that will become an avalanche. Look to the tarred one and the rest to go into overdrive tomorrow.

That the SFA are overloaded with sellik placemen right now is being conveniently forgotten. Sorry, I got that wrong - apparently Liewell and the rest are all in on the global conspiracy. :violin:

  8. Mike Ashley wants Dave King 'fit and proper' reasons made public

    Grant Russell Grant Russell

    28 April 2016

Scottish FA called upon to make clear why it approved the Rangers chairman in May last year.

Mike Ashley has called on the Scottish FA to publish in full its reasoning for deeming Rangers chairman Dave King a fit and proper person.

The businessman dropped his court bid to have the decision, made by the governing body last May, overturned through judicial review because of an error in law.

The Scottish FA provided full reasons, as well as supporting documentation, for allowing King to take up his role at Ibrox to Ashley's MASH Holdings Limited on April 14, ahead of their court date.

Having reviewed the content, MASH say they believe it is in the "public interest" for the decision of the SFA's board to allow the South African-based shareholder to take up his position at the club.

A spokesman for MASH told STV: "We are delighted that the wall of secrecy surrounding the SFA's decision to declare Dave King a 'fit and proper person' is finally crumbling.

"As a result of legal action concluded today, the SFA has been forced to divulge documents in private to us that reveal the true reasons behind this controversial decision.

"This represents a significant victory for MASH and we believe there is a strong public interest in this information now also being made available by the SFA to all football fans.

"We therefore urge the SFA to come clean with the public about all its dealings in relation to Dave King."

"MASH notes that the SFA did not approve Dave King to be a director of the football club (The Rangers Football Club Limited, the body which has membership of the SFA), but instead only approved him as a director of the club's holding company (Rangers International Football Club plc).

"We find it astonishing that Mr King talks and acts as if he runs Rangers, whilst at the same time his lawyers claim he is not a de facto director of The Rangers Football Club Limited."

King's suitability was called into question by MASH because of his 41 convictions for contraventions of the Income Tax Act in South Africa.

At the Court of Session on Thursday, the Scottish FA's counsel revealed that significant evidence had been gathered to establish the full facts of those convictions.

It was also stated by Roddy Dunlop QC that a "certificate of good standing" had been provided by the South African Revenue Service on King's behalf.

As the judge said today - Ashley and MASH have no "standing" to demand anything at all. :rfc:

  9. Ashley is a sad and pathetic figure right now - and that is what he deserves. I hope MASH, Ashley and his solicitors continue making statements to appease and stir up revolution from the monkeys in the east end. Senior judges in Scotland may seem aloof when commenting on life in this country. But they don't live inside eggshells. The judge today will read every comment made between now and having to announce his decision and take into account any crowing from Ashley and his cohorts. I predict the legal fees of Rangers and the SFA will be paid by the other side. In itself that won't see Ashley having to go out begging. But it is another nail in his coffin as far as credibility goes.

I hope the MP's give him a doing too.

  10. Oh I don't disagree with you about those who only ever go to a Cup Final not contributing - but, rightly or wrongly, Cup Final ticket allocations aren't about those contributing is it ? I thought the Cup Final allocation was about giving each team equal tickets to enjoy the day out. Admittedly football has moved on a great deal though.

Would the atmosphere at a match not be more exciting if the stadium were filled by a 50:50 split between two teams rather than one team having 80% of the fans there ?

I'm on about atmosphere at every day matches not cup finals. There is nothing more depressing than radio coverage of a match where the crowd is in the hundreds and you can hear the local dugs barking.

As for ticket allocations - we've seen it before where some minor team can't sell them all and Rangers fans are expected to arrange everything at the last minute just to take up a ticket some rugby or golf fan decided they didn't want.

  11. I think the contrarian argument is that some of the lustre of a Cup Final is about being played at a neutral venue with a relatively even split of fans - making it as close as possible to being solely about which team performs best on the day. That is some of the Magic of Cup Finals.

To be honest, I can see both points of view. boabie's is a compelling one but also only looks at it through a ST holder's perspective. The example given is one extreme and another extreme. Are we saying that ST holders are entitled to more than those who pay by the game ? What about those who pay by the game but still attend every game ? Should they be excluded because they didn't purchase a ST ?

To give just one example of others who are not eligible.... I have my online ST for Rangers TV but as I don't attend physically to many games each season I am excluded from being able to purchase - on what basis ? That I wouldn't be able to travel to Scotland for the Final ? That is a bit of an assumption.

For me, and I know this wont be popular because it is clearly to the detriment of Rangers ST holders, but I think that there is much to be said for the magic and beauty of Cup football and the expectation that each Club gets the same number of tickets allocated. But I do understand the frustration of ST holders losing out to people who may never have been to a Hibs game in their lives ! I completely understand the frustration.

Craig, even guys who go to only 3 or 4 matches a season contribute far more to the game of football than those who call themselves football fans of a particular team who only go to a game when their club reaches a final every 10 or 15 years or longer.

Football is sold to tv. Atmosphere at a match makes the product more exciting thus possibly worth more. The bloke sitting in his house listening to the radio puts nothing onto the worth of football.

  12. Not really. We have cup finals at a neutral venue for a reason. If there is a reasonable expectation that a team will sell the allocated tickets then it should get them. The number of fans of the other team shouldn't make a difference.

Besides, season ticket holders don't all attend each week. There are fans who attend each week but they number much less than 50% of Hampden.

Season ticket holders have paid into football whether they attend each week or not. Some guy sitting at home for 51 Saturdays of the year contributes nothing to the good of the game and should therefore not be entitled to anything.

  13. The Tory Government of the time hated Liverpool they were prepared to "manage the decline" of the city after the riots in the early 80's.

Not to mention the carnage that Hatton brought against the Tory party.
