  1. Unlike the record apparently. It amounts to libel if this is nothing but hearsay from invisible men and so far that's all it looks like. If there were thousands of people out there somebody must have evidence. It's the type of thing that would be on youtube in minutes. Cop cars being attacked? Potential viral video if it existed.

Steele is also not a "high up police officer". He is a union rep and nothing more.

  2. " STEWART ROBERTSON has insisted Rangers’ response to the scenes following Saturday’s Cup Final defeat to Hibernian was wholly appropriate.

A number of Light Blues’ stars were attacked by Hibernian supporters who invaded the field of play following the final whistle, and Rangers have since released two statements to give their version of events.

Robertson told an exclusive RangersTV interview: “Firstly, let me say well done to Hibs for winning the Cup on Saturday. Their victory was deserved and to win the Cup for the first time in 114 years is obviously a big day in their history.

“So congratulations to them, but from our own perspective, those scenes on Saturday were horrendous. For our players and our staff to have to be placed in that situation in the National Stadium – being attacked in their place of work effectively – is just awful and shouldn’t happen to anyone in any shape or form. "

  3. " RANGERS managing director Stewart Robertson has vowed to take action against any Ibrox supporter found guilty of disorder at the Scottish Cup final.

But Robertson has reiterated the club's belief that the finger of blame for the chaotic and violent scenes witnessed at Hampden on Saturday should still be pointed at the Hibernian fans who swarmed onto the pitch.

The Hibs faithful flooded on to the playing surface in their thousands to celebrate their first cup triumph in over a century.

But the jubilant scenes which followed the Leith side's 3-2 win quickly turned sour when a section of the Easter Road support headed straight for the Rangers end to taunt and goad their rivals.

Several of the Light Blues' players were targeted while fights broke out as Gers supporters also spilled onto the pitch.

Rangers issued a statement on Sunday night admitting a "tiny minority" of their fans had entered the playing surface but only to "protect our players and officials".

However, speaking at the launch of the Club 1872 supporters group, Robertson said: "We don't condone violence and we will wait to see what comes out of the investigations. We will deal with any Rangers fans in the appropriate manner.

"But we have to remember is was the Hibs fans who came over the wall. It was the Hibs' fans who ran over the half-way line towards the Rangers fans. They provoked, they goaded, they taunted.

"In no shape or form do we condone any fan who came onto the pitch

"But I don't think we can get away from the fact that it was Hibs fans who came onto the park and provoked them."

Easter Road chairman Rod Petrie has promised to work with the authorities to ensure "those who have transgressed face the consequences of their actions".

Police Scotland - which has so far made more than a dozen arrests - has launched a criminal investigations into the shocking scenes, while the Scottish Football Association is also setting up a independent commission to examine the causes of the trouble.

But Rangers remain angry that the safety of their players and staff were put in jeopardy.

Now Robertson hopes the enquiries being carried out can also help to pinpoint a solution that guarantees there will be no repeat next season when his side return to Scotland's top-flight. "

  4. Absolutely not. We knew all roads led to celtic immediately. This article, naming O'Henley, is completely worthless in proving this was a stitch up from the scum.

UEFA stand behind FARE, FARE stand behind its delegates, we sang the songs. Proving that there was an orchestrated campaign to place anti-Rangers men inside the ground to hear the songs doesnt make the singing of the songs go away.

There is no fairness, parity, or impartiality where these organisations are concerned. Our club and fans have to be much cleverer in future. For example there have been many celtic European away games where the full IRA-oke has been clearly heard, and UEFA receive no complaints, and these things are never mentioned in their delegate reports. We have to ensure this changes.

UEFA have most definitely received complaints about the manks Iraoke's TB. I notified them a few times myself.

I agree with the gist of your post though.

  5. " A man has admitted running towards Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and gesticulating in an offensive manner after the Scottish Cup Final.

Greg Binnie, 19, admitted a charge under the Offensive Behaviour Act following disorder after Saturday's game at Hampden, which Hibs won 3-2.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, sentence on Binnie, from Ratho, near Edinburgh, was deferred and he was granted bail. "

  6. My 8 year old is just at the point he wants to come to games. We've never pushed him to support Rangers - he chose Man U, god help us! But, he wants to come with us to see the Gers. The weekend shook him a bit and we weren't even there! He wanted to know if going to a game is safe & why do the other fans hate us so much.

We've sorted him out, and he's fine now but I do honestly wish grown fucking men would get a grip sometimes. In one of the videos you can see a guy taunting Rangers fans whilst his wee boy is crying beside him cause he is terrified. All those guys who feel they had a great time would do well to remember all the kids they scared the shit out of, in their desperation to get it up the rangers.

Rant over sorry, it just winds me up.

My brother is 10 years younger than me and back in the seventies used to stand down at the front at matches. It always troubled me when I saw numbskulls throwing bottles from half way up the terracing. Did those clowns really think they had a chance of hitting somebody at the opposite end of a stadium ?

  7. " THE Scottish FA are to set up an Independent Commission to investigate the Hampden riot in the aftermath of Saturday’s Scottish Cup final.

Hibernian lifted the silverware for the first time in 114 years as they beat Rangers 3-2 on a dramatic day at the National Stadium. But the celebrations were marred by a pitch invasion from Hibs fans as Gers players and staff were assaulted at the final whistle.

A series of battles then broke out amongst rival supporters before Police Scotland were able to bring the situation under control and Alan Stubbs’ side could be presented with their medals.

Rangers issued a hard-hitting statement on Sunday evening as they criticised the SFA, Hibernian, Police Scotland and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon for their reaction to the riots.

And chief executive Stewart Regan has now called for calm as Hampden chiefs look to probe the ugly scenes which tarnished a day to remember for Hibs.

He said: “The Scottish FA has today initiated the process of appointing an Independent Commission to investigate the circumstances of Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final disorder.

“A chairperson will be appointed in early course and the commission’s remit will be to review all operational matters relating to the event hosting of the final. It will be convened to analyse the processes and protocols undertaken in the staging of the match and I would encourage all relevant stakeholders to contribute to it.

“In the interests of transparency, the commission’s findings will also be published in full.

“In addition, the Scottish FA’s Compliance Officer has also started the process of investigating potential rule breaches from a football regulatory perspective.

"It should be pointed out that as the cup final is now subject to a criminal investigation by Police Scotland, we will share all information gleaned so far with them.

“I have also instructed the compilation of a comprehensive report from all our internal group functions at Hampden Park to establish a full picture of the events of the weekend. The contents of this report will be made available to the commission.

“I am keen that the Scottish FA is proactive in the investigations with the police authorities and the Independent Commission.

"In the meantime, I would urge all parties involved in the ongoing situation to demonstrate calmness, clarity of thought and responsibility as we proceed towards a satisfactory conclusion.”

  8. " Rangers have launched court proceedings against four of the club's former executives and Mike Ashley.

The civil case against former chief executives Charles Green and Derek Llambias, former director Imran Ahmad, former financial director Brian Stockbridge and Ashley has been brought at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

With Ahmad currently believed to be out of the UK, notice of his citation was published in Monday's Times newspaper.

Rangers had no comment to make.

Last week Rangers withdrew the rights for Rangers Retail Limited, a commercial joint venture with Ashley's Sports Direct, to use the club's trademarks.

The company can no longer produce or distribute merchandise that bears the club's badge.

Rangers Retail was set-up in August 2012 while Green was chief executive of Rangers. At the same time, Ahmad was a director and Stockbridge was the financial director.

Rangers Retail, which is 51% owned by Rangers and 49% by Sports Direct, was established to run the club's retail operation. Fans have protested against the agreement, believing the club does not earn enough from the joint venture, and some have stopped buying merchandise.

Llambias, the former managing director of Newcastle United, the club Ashley owns, was appointed chief executive between December 2014 and March 2015, when the current directors ousted the previous board at an extraordinary general meeting. "

  9. The hatred towards the club and the fanbase is incredible.

Journalists like Spiers trying to spin it in to some sort of anti sectarian vigilante movement, with others referring to Manchester (an event that happened 8 years ago and only resulted in 39 arrests out of over 200,000+ travelling drink fueled fans)

If Spiers didn't write absolute shyte nobody would be interested in what he has to say. He is yesterdays never-was.

  10. Whilst i very much appreciate the club's two statements, i don't think it goes far enough. What is needed is a press conference soonest with the injured players with the injuries on show, large pictures of on show of Hibernian thugs in the act of assaulting our players. Followed by minute by minute of TV coverage of the Hibs fan rushing on and straight to the Rangers end to indulge in goading and violence. Not forgetting the clear TV evidence of Hibs thugs attacking our players and club staff.

The Hivs fans were given licence to do what they did when there was no action taken against the Motherwell fans at the end of last season.

I predict it will happen again too.

  11. I had presumed without any base in expert knowledge that this type of action might be taken after criminal proceedings dependent on findings.

It's Interesting and hopefully good to see it come so soon.

I suspect our board are attempting to have the contracts currently in place torn up without delay. Post criminal trial there can be appeals, etc if guilty verdicts are returned. Rangers at the moment can raise a civil action to protect their own interests as they would not be alleging criminal behaviour.
