  1. I spent an amusing 10 minutes talking to Ally this afternoon at a charity OF over 35 match today. Today was not the day for recriminations.
  2. Tinys maw took me on the private tour of the trophy room just following the issue of the Ibrox Trophy Room book. In her words it was "a load of shyte. If they'd asked me I could have told them the truth behind most of the stuff in here." Which she proceeded to do, including how one of the cups managed to get dented following a melee between players at the meal after a friendly match against Spanish opposition. Then again, maybe the story you were told is true and the bike was simply returned to where it used to reside at some point in between my visits.
  3. I must admit rbr, I don't recall too much difference in the trophy room from my visit around 1966 and my last a couple of years ago. From memory the lay out is the same with maybe one more display cabinet within. On my first visit the bike was leaning against the far wall to the right as you enter the room. I think it's in the same place today.
  4. Rab, I was on a tour of the trophy room around 1966 and the bike was there then.
  5. One of the best players I ever saw anywhere in world football.
  6. While searching for some info around the criminal case I came across this beauty from the demented fool John James - “The company will pay any reasonable professional (including, without limitation, legal and accounting) costs and expenses properly incurred by the employee after the date of this agreement which arise from his having to defend, or appear in any administrative, regulatory, judicial or quasi-judicial proceedings by a third party as a result of his having been chief executive of Rangers Football Club or the company.” There has been no end of speculation, on social media, in regard to Green’s charges. I have consistently pointed out in three previous blogs, that Rangers/RIFC will be liable for the costs of Green’s defence. Rangers will not be able to hedge their costs with an insurer. No insurance policy will indemnify against criminal charges. The writ has been served, RIFC have responded in writing to the clerks at The Court of Session that they will respond to Green’s petition, and in these circumstances I would anticipate no more than a one-day hearing, with a decision on the same day. " How'd that one go JJ ? On the tarred ones site a bear has succeeded in shutting them up for the past 8 hours with two quick posts on the resolution 12 rubbish. Obsessed doesn't cover the actions of the clowns in the manks support.
  7. RANGERS’ are on course to set a new record for total season-ticket sales after a ‘fantastic’ response by fans resulted in a new high for renewals. When the deadline for those wishing to renew their season tickets closed at midnight on Friday over 33,000 had renewed. The Friday evening total alone surpassed all recorded renewal figures as the Club’s supporters line up behind the management team and Board in phenomenal numbers. There is now the strongest possibility of hitting a new high when tickets go on general sale following the closing of the renewal window. The 43,170 season tickets sold for season 2006-07 is the highest on record and the Club believes that this figure could be surpassed after conclusion of the general sale, which will begin just as soon as those fans on the season-ticket waiting list have been accommodated. Rangers Chairman, Dave King, was quick to praise the unflinching loyalty of supporters. “The renewal number is fantastic,” he said, “and again we can see this Club’s fans demonstrating their commitment and belief in what everyone is trying to achieve. “On behalf of the Board, management, players and staff at Rangers I would like to thank them for everything they have done and continue to do. “Other clubs throughout the country struggle to sell their tickets and some grounds are less than half full but time and again Rangers fans rise to the challenge and Ibrox regularly has the biggest crowd in the UK on match days. “This support and loyalty will never be taken for granted by anyone at Ibrox. I believe exciting times lie ahead and together we can make this great Club, which belongs to all of us, thrive and succeed once again.” http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/dave-king-thanks-fans/?
  8. compo, there was no requirement for him to enter a plea. Very few do at this stage. Also, the charges he will be facing eventually will be set out in a new indictment before his trial. I for one have no doubt he will face trial and we'll all be happy at the end of it.
  9. If McCoist ever gets another gig as team manager he won't last long. Stick to tv Ally.
  10. I'd say it's certain they will be crown witnesses. I also hope we see fresh charges against Green and co.
  11. At this stage of proceedings the court couldn't throw out a charge as they were not there today to hear any evidence. The crown office have decided not to go ahead with them. Like everybody else I'd love to know why.
  12. A judge can't desert charges against a person Frankie.
  13. There can't be a conspiracy to commit fraud if there is only one person charged.
  14. Again I'd be very surprised if any of the solicitors took time to inform the fool Doleman.
  15. The court would not sit down until 10 am at the earliest. I'd be surprised if anything has happened yet.
  16. This has appeared too - The Chancery Division, The Royal Courts of Justice, London: HEARING ROOM 1 Before MASTER PRICE Friday 3rd June 2016 At 2 o’ clock Sevco 5088 Limited v Green and others.
  17. Cancel that - HMA v David GRIER 03-JUN-16 Preliminary Hearing Continued SCS/2015-152941 CO14000356 Glasgow HC HMA v Craig WHYTE 03-JUN-16 Preliminary Hearing Continued SCS/2015-152941 CO14000356 Glasgow HC HMA v Gary WITHEY 03-JUN-16 Preliminary Hearing Continued SCS/2015-152941 CO14000356 Glasgow HC
  18. Is his appearance today not simply connected to the hearing into whether he qualifies for legal aid ?
  19. Pete - they couldn't GIVE the top flight matches away last season. Figures prove that we were the only team anyone wanted to watch on tv.BBC Alba has never had nor ever will see again the number of viewers they got when we were on tv. I don't agree with cameras distorting what is going on [they do it in Portugal via different coloured seats] inmuch the same way as canned crowds which were proposed a few years ago. My main point is - Rangers could survive without the pittance received through tv rights. We've done it for the past four years. The rest of Scottish football couldn't do without our fans going through their turnstiles.
  20. I know that our board can't change any deals made with tv. A call for our support to "do the right thing" and consider whether funding the rest of the league via uptake of away match tickets may just cause some to sit up and take notice. Clubs need money through the gate at every match rather than a promise of tv rights money at the end of the season to survive. I prefer to take the long game barca.
  21. Pete, I buy a season ticket. Why should I as a fan of the only show in town be subjected to games being played at all times of day and night at any given day ? Rangers would survive without the pittance received at present from the media. Others wouldn't - that's their problem.
  22. Imo all games should be 3pm on a Saturday. It's not as if we are getting umpteen millions from tv like England are receiving. If the football authorities here can't find any other source of funding then they're not doing their jobs and should be moved on.
  23. They already "balanced" the report Davie. Blue Pitch, Margarita, etc were mentioned in the section on us. Point taken though, they couldn't just do an article on the maze around the manks. They had to drag us into it too via a couple of companies who have zero relevance nowadays.
  24. All I read online from every sector is the Rangers fans sang bad songs during the cup final. The scandalous behaviour of the Hivs fans has been swept under the carpet.
  25. It's probably something to do with the manks tour of Japan.
