  1. Id wonder if those who slate Ally would have done anything different with regards to his salary had they been in his shoes.

On the football side of it his tactics was well off and the players didn't look fit. There was a spell early is his days where we did actually play well and won some good games, I recall a win at Fir Park when we were full blown attacking. But then it went out the window.

His footballing side and financial side are two different things, and like I said I very much doubt those who criticise him would have not picked up the same salary had they been given it.

I think the man deserves a bit more respect taking his legendary playing status into consideration.

McCoist was there to keep the fans eyes from seeing what big hands and his pals were up to. McCoist was only the tip of the iceberg .

McCoist as a player will always have my respect. As a manager he was an absolute disaster and his playing career deserves no mention whatsoever when discussing what we got for our money with him in charge.

  2. In the interests of fairness (and transparency I suppose), I was asked to guest on Sportsound tomorrow (Thursday) night to discuss Saturday's game.

I politely declined for a couple of reasons - one being the ongoing situation with BBC's coverage of the club.

Well done bear. It wasn't so long ago that Rangers fans were being invited onto programmes only to be ambushed by 2 or 3 folk who held diametrically opposite views.

Leave them to it. Neither me nor any of my mates would be listening anyhow.

  3. Won't even see it tbh. My daughter is 2 this week and we're having her shindig on saturday. That will be a happy distraction. I'll flick my phone on about 3 o'clock and look with baited breath but I'll be honest, the older I get, the less I "enjoy" the whole OF experience

I hope every Rangers fan going to the match enjoys the game and comes home feeling satisfied. I'm glad to say though, the scum will not be seeing any of my money . Some memories are just too close to forget. it was up to those scumbags we wouldn't even have a team to follow.

    My loss I suppose.

  4. Hibs should have had their European place taken off them and been thrown out the cup within days of the final. As it is their punishment for assaulting the rangers team and rioting is going to be no worse than rangers.

Next time a team invades the pitch anywhere the opposition fans better get on the pitch fast to protect their players.

Hibs had their Euro place taken off them the very second they were drawn against a side currently 3 points behind the Maryhill Stanklifters in the world rankings. :seal:

  5. You are totally correct Boabie but I think you are wrong not to accept that rules are slowly changing and that down the line the chance exists that it will be accepted. Don't forget that Celtic are the team who have been stating they want to go to an English league(Hypocritical for British haters. Money talks) and who is the biggest voice in the SFA. I personally think world football is changing and there will be different league set-ups in the future.

Anything can happen in the future Pete. I'm only stating the situation as it is right now.

    IF UEFA change their rules.

    IF the SFA change theirs.

IF the English leagues change theirs.

At present, if we gave the SFA the required 2 years notice of our intention to quit, the English leagues would be in breach of UEFA regs if they agreed we could join their league before that 2 years is up. In other words, we would be leaving/ have left football in Scotland before we were even allowed to officially discuss entry to an English league.

  6. Well again I simply don't believe the SFA have any power over football aside from members of their association which if we resigned we would not be. You're suggesting you know something that no one in the football league in England appears to know about for one thing. They're talking about inviting Rangers into their system when they have no idea that's impossible for some reason?

Others are talking of a North Atlantic league including Rangers when they have no idea the SFA is a dictatorship that decides who can kick a ball anywhere in Scotland? That's illogical.

And again if you have anything that can suggest you're right aside from you just saying these things I'm open to having my mind changed. But as it stands I would still absolutely believe that the SFA are absolutely nothing outside members of their association which we would not be if we resign.

Mate, UEFA have control of football played in what is now called "Europe". The various county/associations are bound by their rules. Should any association within their remit break their rules there is the option to refer that football governing body to FIFA who have the power to ban that national association from world football.

In short, via the rules of football played anywhere on this planet which affect us - the SFA via UEFA are empowered to decide who plays a game of football in Scotland.

UEFA have a rule which states that any club within an association deciding that they take a dispute to a civil court is subject to banning from UEFA competitions . Not to mention that the national association is responsible for the actions of their member club.

If Rangers decided that they were moving to England, even with the permission of the league down there, the English league would be in trouble for admitting a club who were a member of another countrys football league . That is without the SFA saying a word.

Civil action via the courts lead to bannings via both domestic and UEFA legislations.

Mate, I don't want to fall out with anybody here. It would be good to see some of the ideas and fantasies realised. Please believe me - this conversation has been going on for years and years. The SFA via UEFA have total control on what happens to us. Civil action is out . Company law means nothing - there is np point is owning a company if you have nobody to trade with.

  7. All of this has nothing to do with private companies, the police of anything else. The various associations come under the umbrella of UEFA who have the power to sanction each of them for breaches. UEFA also empower the associations for matches played within their separate countries. This means that the SFA have FULL power over who plays within Scotland. If the SFA don't sanction the match you will not be allowed by the licencing committees and/or the police to play.

Breaches of the UEFA rules would or could prevent clubs playing in European competitions.

FFS guys, all of this has been covered umpteen times over the years. The last time I remember it being taken even half seriously was when Ben Turpin was in charge at the midden - the papers were full of it and even had a quote out of context by some UEFA mandarin. Wee Ben knew better than hitch his horse to the nonsense and more or less dismissed it out of hand.

  8. Maybe you're aware of something unknown to me? Can you show me something demonstrating that the SFA can decide where Rangers choose to play their football? I have never seen anything that remotely suggested the SFA can tell anyone what to do with their club. The media never mention any such thing when all manner of alternative leagues are raised whether it be England or a North Atlantic league.

This is a private company, the SFA don't own it. They could allow us or disallow us to play in the Scottish cup but outside that they're nothing to my knowledge. But again if you can show me anything suggesting otherwise I would be interested to see it.

The SFA licence every single football match played in Scotland apart from garden kickabouts mate. There is no problem with Rangers joining the English league. But we would not be playing any games at Ibrox or anywhere else in Scotland unless we had the permission of the SFA.

  9. JFK - Any Scottish club playing in England would need the permission of the SFA, no matter what amount of money Sky are presently throwing at the English game or what Sky might think is desirable to their customers. Sky are powerful. But they are not God.

Why on earth would the SFA let the ONLY thing in their whole operation worth any money waltz off to play in another country's league ?

That is to say nothing of the operational police problems in having thousands of fans heading off to matches down south every second week or the same number of English fans wandering around Glasgow on the same day that Scottish matches are taking place.

The SFA alone will kill this one stone dead.

  10. I'm not talking specifically about this forum but I wish Rangers fans would stop talking about getting out of this country and moving to England. It's been going on for years and we're no further forward. Please stop it. Even taking into consideration the rubbish in the press recently, it is quite simply not going to happen.

The clatty mob have our game sewn up and there is nothing we can do to affect that other than withhold our money to stop funding them. If you are not willing to do that then stop whining about the current situation.

The above is posted with the greatest respect to all here.

  11. It has been present at a couple of our matches - TBB is sung but dies down when it comes to the "offensive" line about blood. One or two feckwits continue but the vast majority seem to heed the warnings. I take the view that when TBB is finally done away with those "offended" will merely target another song. Also, if it "offends" you that much there are plenty of other channels to watch as well as an on/off switch.

Imagine turning on your telly to be deliberately offended.

  12. If proven to be a pack of lies then it is libel. And given there undoubtedly will have been reputational damage to both the club and the fans would give rise to the possibility of legal proceedings against the publication I would think.

Unforunately Craig, there is no money to be made in Scottish courts via libel or slander cases.

That is not to say however that we shouldn't demand a retraction from the so called newspaper.

  13. I watched their match last night and assume they were at full strength.

They were pitiful. They have the look of eleven guys all playing for themselves with no plan at work. That's hardly surprising Brenda always struck me as one of those guys who just happened to get lucky. He'll stagger around from club to club leaving wreckage in his wake for as long as he's a manager.

Celtic were garbage last night there is no other word for it.

My expectations have risen after seeing that defence.

  14. I've been away a few days and just switched on to the scum game. One thing is clear - Brenda is living up to his previous record . The guy is totally incapabl;e of working a squad of players. Desperation sees all his substitutions being used without impovement.

His squad will implode mid season. They are there for the taking simply due to their manager.
