  1. For me it is pretty obvious and in fact I now feel we are treating him very shabbily. I am starting to wonder if Warburton has lost the plot. The guy did something wrong and got punished for it. All of a sudden the goal posts got moved time and again. If I get arrested for stealing I am not kept in jail until a trial, I am released on bail to return to my everyday life. . If I get arrested for stealing I am not kept in jail until a trial, I am released on bail to return to my everyday life. If the SFA trial was 6 months away would he be sidelined for 6 months? He will be getting paid for doing nothing but I think he would rather be playing for nothing. If Rangers wanted Barton playing he would be playing. They are not even letting him train so he can hit the ground running after his punishment and that is pretty unheard of. Sorry Craig as I say it is obvious to me he is not wanted and probably the person that committed the biggest crime here was the person that signed him in the first place.

We know nothing about what went on. It's all speculation but who's to say Bartons indiscipline is not continuing behind the scenes ?

However, to address your points pete,

" If I get arrested for stealing I am not kept in jail until a trial, I am released on bail to return to my everyday life. " - not if the offence happened at your work you wouldn't.

" Barton will get a punishment from the SFA but Rangers are now punishing him before he is even been found guilty. " - that is assuming that he is being punished for betting. Nobody at Rangers has commented as far as I'm aware.

As for him not training with us - it was at training that he reportedly lost it and became the subject of punishment. Maybe he has shown no contrition ?

Stepping to the side for a second, I think it was on the other thread that mention was made of how certain players, including Black only received minor punishments for the same alleged offence. We have a new regime in charge so maybe they are now placing it in contracts that such behaviour won't be tolerated ?

There is too much speculation around this subject. Too many are reading between the lines and creating conspiracy theories. That's not aimed at you mate. Just my view of what's going on, with the usual suspects in the vanguard creating a feeding frenzy.

  2. How many would Jim Forrest have scored if not binned after Berwick. 145 goals in 163 appearances.

JF was another of my favourites in my youth. A deadly out and out poacher. They used to say, every time you saw a photo of a Celtic goalie, the ball was nestling in the net and Jim Forrest was standing over him, arms aloft.

I can't remember what match it was but I was there when he scored his 100th goal.

  3. Warburton not talking to BT Sport pre match, Somebody has obviously had a word with Sutton. Apart from going on about Hallidays tackle - which was never a booking and hardly even a foul, he's been praising us.

Sutton will get the point some day ----- .@btsportfootball Good performance from Rangers tonight! Disappointing for Rangers fans not to hear from Mark Warbuton pre and post match⚽️

More to the point, MW is not going to help you get a wage packet.

Over to you BT Sport. He brings nothing to the party anyhow.

  4. The team has been picked so let's go with it and stop dissecting MW's selection.

Have given up on BT sport till kick-off in case I try to hit Sutton with a missile(preferably scud) he is such a total w****r:wanker::wanker::wanker:

I don't watch until kick off either.

Nigella was just on there. :sneaky:

  5. "PLANS for an Atlantic League involving Celtic and Rangers have been given a big thumbs down by fans of Danish side FC Copenhagen.

Copenhagen director Anders Hørsholt revealed yesterday that discussions have been taking place regarding a European league involving teams from Scotland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Sweden.

Hørsholt suggested that the Danish side would consider quitting the Superliga to take part in the multinational tournament if the new European league was to come to fruition.

But Lars Thor, the president of FC Copenhagen’s official fan club, FCKFC, believes proposals for an Atlantic League won’t go down well with the fans.

Talking to Danish newspaper BT , Thor said: “From an economic perspective and a development perspective, I can see what the club’s intentions are, but as a fan, it becomes a ‘no thanks'.

“It may well be that there will be many fans at the home games, but I also have to think of the people who enjoy taking away trips.

"You would regularly see empty away sections at the home games, whereas at the moment we can afford to save up for big European matches.”

Meanwhile, some of the clubs linked with being involved in the new set-up have had their say on the idea of breaking away to a new set-up including Dutch giants PSV.

Toon Gerbrands, the CEO of the Eindhoven-based club said: "We have discussed a number of plans with our foreign colleagues. Currently we are not in negotiations for a new league."

Malmo chief Nicklas Carlnen also admitted that many discussion have been taking place throughout Europe about the future of the game but refused to be drawn on Hørsholt's suggestions about an Atlantic League saying: "I have no comment on the specific topic, but because of UEFA's decision to change the Champions League format, there are many discussions in Europe.

"For us it is important that there is an opportunity for countries like the Scandinavian to continually compete in European tournaments."

  6. The obsessed usual suspects are out in force online swerving, ducking and diving to sweep this one away.

That fool and well known "Rangers supporter" John James produces a blog so hateful and twisted that not even the most gullible sellik fan can ever again point to Ibrox affiliations to defend James garbage.

The only thing more sickening is their pathetic attempts to get votes for some online blogging award.

  7. I would assume that one way or another, UEFA will be involved. Else they'll block the path of any Atlantic League team to their competitions. As well as players playing within that league. They are as money-grabbing bastards as they are power-hungry. There is a very medieval Roman Catholic church like either us or nothing attitude there, no matter their own failings and corruption (which is also akin to the medieval RC).

The big question remains are the finances. What Scottish football gets now is peanuts compared to other countries. If that does not change, either through UEFA changing formats (no laughing at the back) or better TV deals, a Atlantic League would be the logic consequence. And, of course, it is a UFEA-created problem. I doubt the SFA and the rest of the Premiership teams will do anything other than oppose any such plans (unless they are involved), as they are quite content with having the OF about. If they drop out of the Scottish league, their future looks even more bleak than nowadays.

UEFA and the SFA will both object unless somebody fills their pockets with gold and I doubt the idea is so popular that there is money to burn. I can't see it myself.

And in another 6 months time when yet another guy we've never heard of comes up with another idea I doubt if I'll see it then either,

  8. Get the concept Boabie, but would also imagine that a protest every other Saturday could bring it's own issues, the protesters would have to be very well self-policed and would have to refrain from intimidation , anyone trying to get into the shop who felt they were threatened could very well generate negative publicity.

Also the livelihoods of the store employees should be considered.

There is no easy answer to all this I fear, despite DK saying some time ago that a resolution was imminent.

In reality I think the boycott (of which I do my best to support) has very little effect other than reduce the little revenue Rangers receive from this JV even further.

Boycotting gives us fans a avenue to feel we are taking action against SD and helping Rangers in the process, how much this influences the position of SD is very debatable.

My own opinion is that boycotting is this instance does very little other than provide a method for fans to "believe" they are making a difference when in fact there is very little of any significance we can achieve.

Mate, if protests stop Ashley and his leeches gaining from the sale of even one jersey then I'd consider it worthwhile.

I will guarantee that King and the rest of the board would forego what little we gain from the contract in its entirety and come out with a full scale call for all Rangers supporters to boycott the shop if they were legally allowed to.

When Ashley is paying rates, electricity, etc for a shop that sells hee-haw I'm certain he'd have second thoughts. As for the staff - sorry but that's the nature of the game. None of my kids would be working in there.

Each and every Rangers fan would have the personal satisfaction of knowing they had done just a little bit. I find that personally satisfying myself. Even if Ashley won't go bankrupt through my denying him 50 quid or so.

  9. Ironically they may still be in with a chance because the entire group is shite.

Please JFK - let that one go. I'm fed up buying apples from that barra. They do it every time. I suspect selling tickets for matches is the reason they do it.

No debate about it, an announcement should be made tonight that Strapon and the Eberdeen fanny are sacked.

My big mate, a Hearts fan is at the game tonight and I'll be interested to hear his take on it.

  10. I now await the SFA bringing in some experts to examine "what is wrong with Scottish football". The group will spend 3 years and another couple of million to produce yet another report which won't see the light of day.

Incompetents , the lot of them.

  11. That is too early for me to have been at school I think, but I remember our school all watching a qualifying game against Czechoslovakia in school hours so you are probably right that they played during the day. Did we meet the Czechs a few years later again?

Looking at my age and where I lived at the time I think I'm on about a game played in 1960.
