  1. Mulgrew misses a penalty. 43 minutes played 0-0.
  2. In the studio pre-match - "Although it's only his second match in charge Eck is under pressure". No shit Sherlock ! I wonder why that is, eh ?
  3. I think it's Stevie Thomson co-commentating ----- "We're playing well." It's like watching paint dry. Playing nothing and just holding on.
  4. It's for the later stages so I don't think any Scottish club will be affected for the foreseeable future mate.
  5. " UEFA have announced a raft of new rules for next season's European competitions concerning kick off times, substitute numbers and player registrations. But Scottish sides will have to reach the latter stages of the Champions League and Europa Leagueto benefit from the majority of them. Top of the list is the announcement that clubs competing in the knock out stages of both competitions will be permitted to use a fourth substitute in extra time. The finalists of the two competitions will also be able to name TWELVE substitutes - up from the traditional seven. And teams will also be allowed to use new signings who have already played in the tournament for their former sides - effectively ending the idea of a players being 'cup-tied'. New kick-off times will be introduced too - including a new slot at 8pm (UK time) in the Champions League, with two games on Tuesday and two games on Wednesday kicking off at 5.55pm. Europa League games will be split between these two kick-off times until the quarter-finals when they will all start at 8pm. The Super Cup will also kick off at 8pm. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/uefa-rule-changes-affect-celtic-12258743
  6. Maybe if we had a voice in the boardroom some of the things that seem to matter to the ordinary supporter could get raised ? The constant drip drip of lies and rumours against our club and the Rangers-bad-sellik-good agenda being shovelled for the past few years may be looked at ? I don't know about anybody else here but my money isn't put in so our youth team can get warm showers. I want some fucking action taken to back me up against the crime of being a Rangers supporter.
  7. McLeish announces he will field a "more experienced" team for the next match. Have we learned absolutely nothing ? Not good enough to qualify for the last several competitions ---- but play the same guys again to fail at the next attempt.
  8. I wasn't here at the time so can only talk about my [short] time on FF. What became the Gub , myself and about 3 other regulars were the only ones speaking out against the sham that was Murray. The warnings about fraud, nepotism and the rest were all made years before they affected the club.
  9. I'll disagree slightly with that one mate. At that time there were only very few on FF moaning about Murray. I was one of them.
  10. It's how democracy works buddy. When it comes to elections or selections between board members experience has taught me to expect the worst. However it doesn't mean we cancel trying to get what we want.
  11. I can see where you're coming from here mate but C1872 are more than a fans group and should not be treated in the same way . They are financing Rangers directly. If the majority of Rangers fans are unhappy with c1872 being treated differently they have a very easy solution - start doing the same.
  12. A few excerpts from the early history of the manks -- " John MacCreadie was the first president of the Donegal Reunion Society and a founding member of the St Aloysius Association alongside Joe Shaughnessy, Joe Nelis and Dr John Conway. He was also a leading member of the Catholic Literary Society and was a star turn at their frequent soirées. At the St Patrick’s Day bash of 1891, he was accompanied by the Rangers Musical Association and John H McLaughlin in a rendition of “Wearing of the Green” and was also renowned for a spirited rendition of “God Save Ireland”. " "A member of the Catholic Literary Society, during a break in their St Patrick’s Day social meeting, he proposed in an eloquent speech the toast of “Ireland a nation”. It was later noted that a most enjoyable feature of the evening was the artistic programme provided by the Rangers FC Musical Association. " " He regularly played the piano with the Rangers FC Glee Club and in return the Rangers Musical Association would accompany him elsewhere. " From reading elsewhere it would seem that the manks also used the Waterloo Rooms for their official functions.
  13. I remember the Foinavon race. We listened to it on the car radio on our way to the caravan in Arbroath.
  14. A perhaps surprising thing that used to happen in our early history was that Rangers Jolly Band supplied the entertainment after Celtic AGMs took place.
  15. Although younger, clever skillful players like Andy Penman or Dave Smith spring to mind. They could always see a pass before the ball reached them. Signing a guy at his age was always going to be a risk but that was the situation we appeared to be in at that time.
  16. " RANGERS can today confirm Niko Kranjcar’s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement. Kranjcar joined Rangers in the summer of 2016 from New York Cosmos, and has made 26 appearances while scoring three goals in the process. The former Croatia, Tottenham and Portsmouth midfielder leaves Ibrox with the best wishes of everyone associated with the club, and also their gratitude for his services. Niko said: “Myself and Rangers Football Club have come to a mutual agreement to terminate our common contract. “It’s been an honour to have been part of such a big club and to have played for such great fans, it will always remain an honour for me. “I wish the club success in its future while I now consider the options I have on the table.” https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/niko-kranjcar/
  17. " Club 1872 does not have an automatic right to an RIFC board place. " While the rules may say that, given the amounts of money the fans are investing in the club, it should be a given. In fact, imo it should be insisted upon. Even if our shareholding is diluted by a new issue we should still be granted that access.
  18. By all accounts going by what has been posted online he did very well and received plaudits from sections of the Wales support.
  19. I'll watch in the pub.
  20. Mac, nobody here has a clue what is happening. The diddies at The Sun and Record who have absolutely NO insight into what is going on inside Ibrox are throwing out any name available or inventing Emails from "Bears" making recommendations. What is going to happen close season will happen. I suspect the board already know they themselves are increasingly under the microscope and will have to do all they can to placate the support. Watch out for "an announcement will be made in the short future" note to be stapled to the season ticket renewal letter. I for one won't be sitting on the chanty expecting a managerial superstar to arrive.
  21. Foderingham to me was an excellent keeper, despite the odd feck up, with the ball at his feet when we played in the lower divisions. He doesn't have the luxury of that now and imo has been given orders not to play about and to simply hoof the ball out. He isn't as good as a keeper as the rest there. I'll agree with most of the goalies you quoted apart from Klos - fantastic shot stopper that he was, we ended up changing our whole team formation due to his inability to kick a ball more than 5 yards. Playing two centre halfs on the 18 yard box is simply inviting disaster.
  22. I don't want him back simply because of his age. But there's no doubt the guy is a total professional. I was in the lift with him heading up to the players lounge after he'd made a great save during the match but an Inverness forward had banged in the rebound and the game finished 1-1. He was distraught .
  23. The compliance officer looking into whether Rangers told porkies to get a licence to play in European competition will be the start. A whole can of worms will get opened and many decisions made years ago will be overturned. I've no doubt those bastards aren't finished with us yet.
  24. Something the owner of Chelsea proposed in the 70's after their fans had rioted just once too often during another match.
